Pros: Nationwide Cons: yep
This review will start out a little different from most Mindspring reviews. I didn’t sign up with Mindspring at all. I traveled a lot and about 2 ½ years ago, I needed an ISP that had access in remote areas. After a lot of research on the internet...

Pros: Fast access, no busy signals, good tech support, don't have to use their software Cons: Earthlink "merged" with Mindspring and promptly killed it!
In 1996 I was working at my very first job out of college as a systems analyst/network admin for a small city government agency. A couple of the "higher ups" wanted internet access so we got some modems and the only ISP with a local number......

Pros: Easy to install and uninstall. They didn't keep money. Cons: Slow to diagnose simple problem
I'm always looking for alternatives to AOL. On the recommendation of computer wholesaler I trust, I tried Mindspring. It was easy to install, but unfortunately my connection was being dropped more often by Mindspring than AOL, which is saying...

Pros: Customer service is #1, No busy signals Cons: It's not free, but you get what you pay for!
How often have you heard that? Not much huh?! Well considering all the choices out there (there are many) this one is tops on my list.
I had tried a free service in the beginning. Two months after I signed up they went out of business with no...

Pros: Been around a while, they used to know their stuff and they cared. Cons: Too big now; billing discrepancies are not in the customer's favor.
Mindspring offers unlimited dial-up access @ $19.95/mo, and charges $1.00/hr for any simultaneous usage on the same account.
I was automatically overbilled on simultaneous usage for both February and March, 2001 because of the logging methods...

Pros: Reliable, friendly, noted for customer service. Cons: Don't yet know how recent merger with Earthlink will affect performance
I've been with MindSpring since 1996 and though I've been tempted by some of the "free" and reduced-cost ISPs, I'm sticking with MS for the foreseeable future. Their service has always been reliable and their tech help friendly, knowledgeable...

Pros: Lots of software, good performance, ISDN access, 5MB for Web pages Cons: $35 start-up fee
When the dust settles, MindSpring could be a top national ISP. Although it made for some confusing moments over the technical support phone lines, but in overall, this was one of the best ISP that I had experienced beside IBM Network. Still well worth...

Pros: It USED to be fast, reliable, affordable, etc. Cons: It is now the opposite of all of the above
When I signed on as a Mindspring customer three years ago, they were still Mindspring and not yet bought out by Earthlink. They were new and the radio ads I heard were offering free set-up and I, having just moved to the Bay Area and looking for a new...

Pros: All left with the merger Cons: slow, always down, no customer service
Many of our questions are how to pick an internet provider that's right for you. Well I have looked into quite a few of them, and Mindspring sounded like an awesome deal. They were willing to give me a month free, and if anyone I knew signed up for...

Pros: reliable, helpful, friendly, real value Cons: you have to pay for it, but at least there are no ads
I've been with Mindspring for over three years now, and have not had any problems. When I originally signed up, I had just left the quickly-sinking Compuserve, and went with a popular, local ISP; Mindspring. Little did I know that they'd soon be...

Pros: Terrific tech support Cons: Trouble staying connected
Over two and a half ago years or so, I purchased a computer and, looking into going to a new ISP, I decided to go with the Sprynet service that was preloaded into my computer. I loved it...until they were bought out by Mindspring who then merged with...

Pros: great connectivity Cons: more expensive than your local ISP company
I was the former consumer of a $9.95 monthly ISP (who shall go unnamed at this time) and the old saying "you get what you pay for" fits the bill here! I was constantly being disconnected and because it was a local start-up ISP their hours for...

Pros: Stable Cons: not enough access #s yet
I was an AOL user for nearly a year, thinking that was all to the internet. I didn't realize that there were other BETTER internet service providers out there. I thought they were all the same.
I finally had had it with the hang ups and...

Pros: dailup service - few disruptions, good technical support, price is adequate Cons: Poor DSL support (1999/beginning of 2000)
Mostly Mindspring has "been very good to me". The price is allright (about $20 a month). Technical support has been good most of the time. The customer service representatives have been positive and support although there was one rude...

Pros: Easy to use, efficient and friendly tech support; excellent at informing users on network status Cons: none where it counts
The Boeing 727 is one of the safest most reliable commercial jet airliners still flying! With almost 40 years of superlative service; but, compared with today’s aircraft, it seems boring and has not been updated.
What’s this have to do with...
