Pros: Nice snappy logo Cons: Degradation of service over time, confrontational customer service
Summary: After having Mindspring DSL for 2 years, I have to say they are not the best broadband provider. Why had I not switched? Well, I live in a 100 year old building on the North side of Chicago, and just getting the building set up for DSL was enough of a ... read more

Their customer service was abysmal!

Pros: Established, fast, always on, free modem after contract period, GREAT tech support, Mac support Cons: Average price for average performance. $39/month too steep?? Recent slowdowns a DRAG.
Summary: I've been with Mindspring/Earthlink since Oct. 2000. To their credit, they were the 1st to get into my neighborhood (in SF) where PacBell(now SBC) DOMINATES. The move to Earthlink wasn't too bad, although it took 4-5 months to ruffle out e-mail account ... read more

Pros: Free(?) modem. Though they will charge you for it if you quit. Cons: Cost and initial connection times.

Pros: 85% of Customer Service people are friendly Cons: -Insanely long phone support waits in excess of 20 minutes
-3rd party provider
Summary: I strongly suggest to whoever reads this review to re-think the idea of DSL service altogether. Unless you go direct through the phone company that owns the lines, the DSL provider will claim that any problems with your connection are not their fault ... read more
