Pros: Solid service and speeds, clear installation instructions. Cons: Confusing customer representatives, late service ready date.
Summary: Verizon Online DSL has been around for quite a while. Its service has been improving over the last few years. When I decided that dial-up wasn't a great choice anymore and that it was time to switch over to DSL service, I picked Verizon because it was ... read more

Pros: Wish I had something to put here. I really do. Cons: Their customer service process is extremely poor. Absolutely the worst!
Summary: I ordered Verizon DSL. Got the install package and purchased a wireless router. Supposed to be a simple install...so we all thought. Tried to install with Xp on a two year old machine. Couldn't complete the install. Verizon tech support told me ... read more

Pros: Very fast. No problem fixing if you're a computer science major. Cons: Customer service is clueless.
Summary: I have been a subscriber to Verizon DSL for over half a year. I find it is very fast, and reasonably priced. I pay $14.99 a month, due to a year contract, and it will lower even more when I link it with my phone service. The worst part is, you are ... read more

Pros: DSL service is fast. Cons: Terrible customer service.
Summary: I had Verizon DSL when I lived in the east coast. If I remember right it was only $20 a month and it fit my budget so I signed up. It took so long to get connected. They sent me the wrong modem so I had to wait another few weeks for the right one. ... read more

Pros: Cheapest broadband in the area Cons: Horrible customer service. 12 month contract.
Summary: After losing my job, I needed to find some ways to cut costs. One of the easiest I thought would be to replace my Time Warner cable ($60/mo) with something slower and cheaper. While Time Warner did offer me a 256KB/s connection for half the cost, it ... read more

Pros: Cheaper, and faster up speed. Cons: Too many to list. #1: They don't care and they will tell you as well.
Summary: I had Verizon DSL for many years in different areas. Benefits of DSL vs. Cable: - DSL is slower on down speed, but the benefit is the up-speed. Typically, up-speed is 2x as fast as cable modem. This is the only good thing about DSL. - Cheaper then ... read more

Pros: When there is nothing to repair, the system works ok. Cons: Someone tell them that they are no longer a monoopoly!!
Summary: For some time, my Verizon DSL service has been interrupted whenever our (Verizon) phone rings, and whenever a call is terminated. It also turns itself off every 15-30 minutes for no apparent reason. Each time it takes 60-90 seconds to turn back on. ... read more

Pros: The actual tv and internet service was fine. Cons: Everything else -- the web of customer service numbers is a nightmare.

Pros: When the DSL DID work, it was great, fast and easy to use. Cons: Terrible customer service, unable to fix problem, and continues to bill us in error.
Summary: DO NOT EVER GET VERIZON DSL! We were taken in by the very low $15 or $20 a month rate, but I should have known that it was too good to be true. After about 6 weeks of perfectly fine service, one day our DSL didn't work any more. That's when we realized ... read more
