Pros: Lots of new features plus fixed issues from win9x Cons: Some manufacturers haven't put drivers out for hardware that are for specific use with winme, but 9 out of 10 times you can use your windows 98 drivers
This is the best Windows 9x based OS yet! This is the way Windows 98 should have been...it's got the look and feel of Windows 200 Professional, but without the extra network features that Windows 200 has. Even though the upgrades are very cheap right...

Pros: System restore is a good feature. Cons: Slower than 98 SE, crashes, software install brings up blue screen.
I got WinME on a new system. It's a Gateway 1400 mgz Athlon with 512M RAM. This sucker should be blazing fast, but my old 450 with 98 on it out-performs it on everything!
The first thing that struck me was when I went into system...

Pros: Um....uh.... well.... Cons: Freeze! Crash! Freeze! Crash!
I've never felt strongly enough about a product to ever seek out a place on the net to give a review, but Windows ME was SO horrendous I felt an obligation to warn others about this OS!
It came preinstalled on a new Sony Vaio notebook, and...

Pros: Driver Support, ==Networking==, NT BASED! Cons: Price, not much of an upgrade
Windows Millennium. What can I say? For those of you on Windows 2000, the only reason to upgrade (because really it would be a downgrade) would be for better driver support and the Movie Maker. Since Windows Me acts as a Windows9x, most programs seem...

Pros: Easy installation Cons: No DOS!
I know, this is my second opinion, but now from a different prespective;
My PC crashed this weekend, so I went out and bought a full retail version of WinME ($150, not bad!). The installation went easier than I could ever have imagined....

Pros: Some cool new features like system restore. Cons: SLOW, unstable, conflicts with a lot of different programs, freezes up often.
I have excitedly run to the store to upgrade my Windows since 3.1 and I have to say that Windows ME is a big disappointment. While I do appreciate the new features like system restore, Windows Media Player, the new my documents folder and the new and...

Pros: Faster loading, enhanced system tools (System Restore is great), Nice interface, Nice new internet games Cons: Hates Dos, freezes playing sound, eats ram like a fat man in a wafflehouse
Windows ME is a pretty good product, overall. I will be the very first to say it isnt the best software ever written, but I think the enhancements oversee the bugs. System Restore is the best tool ever made for windows users, you can undo your system...

Pros: Stable, simple video edition software included, smart menu Cons: too expensive
Microsoft Windows ME (Millennium Edition.) Another Great OS from Microsoft since the release of Windows 2000. Windows 2000 is design for business user to replace Windows NT, Windows ME is made for home user like you and me which is going to replace...

Pros: Slightly more stable; worth it for a new system. Cons: Lack of backup/restore utility for data. Missing many old DOS features.
I wasn't going to bother with Windows ME, since 98 worked quite well for me, but then I purchased a new machine with it pre-installed and got to play.
First impressions were good, but not overwhelming. on the surface it looks and 'handles'...

Pros: Newer "sleeker" look, updated hardware handling Cons: Crashes just as much as before, incompatible with lots of older software
Well it started off I bought ME when it first came out(Even though I'm writing this "e"pinion way after that time, I have used the OS for awhile.) and I was expecting something more than what I got. I was expecting something more like the fabulous and...

Pros: File protection, system restore. Cons: Looks very similar to Win 98.
I am one of those who likes to have the latest software on my computer. I read all the negative reviews of Windows Me, and was hesitant to install it. But after some sweaty thought, I decided to take the plunge. That was about two months ago, and...

Pros: More user friendly and once running it goes very smoothly without crashing. Cons: Loss of some DOS stuff and it sort of takes control away from you
Currently I'm running WindowsME and it's not bad.
It has a lot of self-correcting features Window98 does not. I would say it's more user friendly also.
If you're a point and click person and don't want to be bothered with the...

Pros: more stability, better features Cons: a little slower
Windows ME, is it worth the money and time. I think so. I have been using Windows ME for about 3 weeks now and I believe it to be the most stable and versatile windows available to the average home user. It crashes a lot less and seems to run smoother...

Pros: Faster Interface, easier to use Cons: none so far
I personally feel that Windows ME is the greatest version of Windows yet to come out. As we all know Windows 95 was fast then 98 came out and that was supposed to be so much better. The reviews were high but you really had to have a fast computer with a...

Pros: Fast Fast and Fast Cons: Slow camera downloads
I'm running a AMD Athlon 700 with 128mb ram and Windows ME. I used to run Windows 98 SE recently until I decided to upgrade. It was a wise choice boot time alone seemed to cut down by 200%. And the amount of GPF's must have decreased by 200% too. I...
