I am a technician and I charge between 30-90$USD per hour to fix computers. ME is a source of my income. ME is an operating system targeted at providing users with more multimedia features building on 98SE, but not providing a stable system. Windows ME is dangerous and the integrity of your identity and files is severely jeprodized when one uses Windows ME. I havw been called up several times to help rebuild a computer after a hijack attempt, and virus attacks. Please save yourself a lot of time and money, buy Windows 2000 Pro, or Windows XP. Windows ME is dangerous and insecure. This pretty much sums it up.

I bought a new laptop computer back in the year 2000 and Windows ME came pre installed on it. This operating system kept freezing my computer up just about everytime i use it and just about everytime i get online. My mouse pointer kept jumping and locking up. My speakers would go crazy and lock my computer up to where i had to remove the battery and unplug the power cord to restart it. Sometimes when i boot up the computer the sound won't work and when i reboot it then it works. Recently I upgraded my operating system to Windows XP and it felt like i just bought a brand new computer. All of the above problems did not occur so far and my computer ran a million times faster with Windows XP.
