Pros: A nicer look to the start bar Cons: not much else, ever fading Microsoft support for this OS.
Windows ME... okay, let's get it straight, this should really be called Windows 98 Third Edition.
I was repairing an older model Compaq and the owner didn't have a 98 disk for it, just 95 and that was far to slow for what his children needed....

Pros: 2nd best operating system to Windows 2000 Cons: same old windows, lacks improvement for the price that customers have to pay.
I was one of the lucky ones who got Windows Me final version early. In this review I will go from start to finish. Well let me tell you the features. Window Me has really cool features like Internet game playing, you can actually play Hearts, Solitaire,...

Pros: more stable, easier to use, improved features Cons: is it worth the fee?
Windows ME is basically an extension of the Windows 98 core, a bug fix/service pack thing if you like. I will take you through my experiences of the product to give you an idea as to what its like.
Firstly the setup. You get the customary startup...

Pros: Extremely easy upgrade, additional multimedia features, stable. Cons: Nothing is crash proof. Don't believe the hype!
The lackeys of Bill Gates have finally chosen to grace the computing world with Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me), one of the newest members in the Windows OS family. This new operating system was designed with the technophile in...

Pros: Nice user interface, new features Cons: Slower than both 98 and 2000, less stable than NT-based OSes
On the surface Windows ME (Millennium Edition) looks like a cross between Windows 2000 and Windows 98. It is the last Microsoft’s operating system built using 9x core. The following operating systems, both for...

Pros: New & interesting features. Cons: Error messages out the patootie.
Where to start...
Well, I'll first start off with how people see Microsoft. I've noticed that people either love or hate Microsoft. I haven't talked to anybody who just thinks Microsoft is "ok". Everybody seems to have something to...

Pros: Nice interface and features, good registry backup idea with snapshot Cons: Abysmal reliability, frequent reinstalls, some hardware incompatibility
This review is based upon 25 years PC experience and 18 months experience with 2 brand new Dell PCs, 733MHZ and 128M RAM with ME installed at the factory.
My first problem was with AOL not being able to reliably connect. After many hours of phone...

Pros: Plug & Play works well, lots of user interface enhancements. Cons: ME tends to be extremely extremely unstable. Lots of bugs.
I recently decided to upgrade my 3 year old desktop computer from Windows 95 OSR2 to Windows ME. The Windows 95 worked great and was fine, but I wanted to add USB capability to the machine. Therefore I upgraded the O/S to Windows ME to get the USB...

Pros: Hard to crash, lots of cool new features Cons: None so far!
Alright, I have had my new computer which came with Windows ME for about a month now (yes, I got it before it was released on the market) and I really enjoy it. However, when reading the reviews for this product, I became a little confused on some of...

Pros: Fast boot-up, stable OS Cons: Not enough change from 98 SE to condone an upgrade. Should have been a service pack
When I heard about Windows ME being yet another consumer upgrade to Windows 98 I was a little frustrated. It seems Microsoft needed some quick cash, which I doubt, for the OS is a re-hashed Windows 98 with some GUI additions ripped right from Windows...

Pros: stable, nice multimedia features, scanner and camera wizard, cosmetics, system restore Cons: not quite an upgrade, no backup for data
Change and improvements are part of life and hence change in OS is also welcome to me, cause software upgrades are always aimed to serve better, especially when the creator expects to earn. (How far they are successful in achieving this aim, is a...

Pros: Turn back Time feature Cons: $$Cost$$, Lack of Improvements
Windows ME doesn’t seam all too new to me... its has the same old unstable 9X platform with a few new features and a $120 upgrade price tag! Keep your Windows 98SE until they put a stable home operating system on the shelves!
With only a few...

Pros: Maximized broadband. VPN. Stability. Cons: Pricey.
Many newer PC's come with Windows ME already installed. For most PC users, we already have either 95 or 98 . I want to briefly opinionate my view on WinME and if you should upgrade.
Marketing or...

Pros: What pros? Cons: Removed features from Explorer interface, DOS mode, added some quirks....
My father once acquired and installed the WinME upgrade (or should I say downgrade?), and in the few months for which it was on the family computer, between us we discovered that it is rather annoying.
The Explorer interface
