Pros: Movie Maker, System Restore Cons: Compatibility issues
Here it comes, the musical notes rang out loud and clear. The graphics started, and I was amazed at the clarity. Windows ME was like watching television, this is great I thought.
Pros to using Windows ME Movie Maker are...

Pros: Fairly stable(on memory and proc loaded machines), Old digicam support! Cons: DOS? Fughedaboutit...driver issues abound, schizo memory management.
...well give them to ME! One of the most horrid things to address when contemplating an upgrade to an OS...oh, who are we kidding here...when ramping up for the newest greatest MS Win product....was the driver issue. Would the old drivers work? Would you...

Pros: it's quite funny, slightly more stable Cons: most of the new stuff is free or useless, some changes decrease usability
After my first experience with WinMe, it seemed as though Microsft simply wanted to release another OS, regardless of improvements. Very, very little has changed. It's pretty sad, actually, that Microsoft thought we would buy this, whether that means...

Pros: Easy installation Cons: Not as many device drivers on the installation CD as previous versions of Windows
Microsoft's last update to the Windows 9x operating system is a fairly painless installation, if planned carefully, and adds quite a few subtle new features, and integration of popular multimedia technologies.
Why upgrade at all? The easiest...

Pros: Less crashes; can work brilliant- when its wants; some new features; feels better than '98. Cons: Went it crashes, it crashes! Hogs memory like a pig! Need a millenium PC.
The Story
About a year ago, I was in PC heaven. The PC was our custom built AMD behemoth, 128Mb RAM, 750Mhz Duron Processor, twin hard drives, 17” monitor, CD writer, 32Mb graphics card. And to top it all off, Windows 98. What a brilliant PC....

Pros: more stable, Nice new features Cons: Nothing really new thats worth paying for, you can download all the extra's
Windows ME is essentially a service pack for Windows 98, however the service pack is certainly a good one. I have Win ME and since then my totally screwed up windows 98 has been revived and errors have been disappearing for now.
As far as the...

Pros: fixes bugs from Windows 98 Ver. 1, more drivers, customer service Cons: compatiblity, not many new changes
I have had Windows Me for a few weeks now and it is tough for me to be completely decided on whether I made a bad choice or an ok choice.
I bought Windows Me (now to be referred to as W-Me) for about $49.99. I got the promotional copy which is...

Pros: Good for older computers Cons: Compatibility
If you are one of the owners of the most common aged computers out there (about 3 or 4 years), I can predict that the majority of you will still be clumping away on Windows 98.
While it has done its job well, It may now be time to upgrade as...

Pros: Much more stable than Win98, some cool new features. Cons: Not as fast as 98, some bad new features, too.
Why do I say that? Windows ME has some good points that make it a better operating system than its predecessor Windows 98, but it's really not that much different under the hood. If your 98/98se setup is stable, I wouldn't recommend ME. There's not...

Pros: Nice new media player Cons: Doesn't seem to change much at all!
My husband is a computer geek and can probably tell you all the additional features and list all the technical changes that have been introduced for Windows ME. Well I am not a computer geek and I am not filled with Jargon so I will simply tell you what...

Pros: Fast Bootup Cons: NO DOS!!!!!!!!!
The Good-Quick Bootup
The Bad-Very inadequate handbook, No Dos
If you have no operating system at all (and I think this is probably impossible as all pc's come with one) then maybe Win ME is okay for you, if and only if you don't...

Pros: Really oriented for the home user Cons: Not good for engineers and programmers.
I've installed ME on my laptop and have it dual booting with W2K. I haven't had too many problems with it besides drivers being out of date and just getting it to work my 2 year old laptop.
Now, don't get me wrong, it's a good system, but it...

Pros: Updated software Cons: Slow, scary for experienced computer users
I purchased the Microsoft Windows ME upgrade for Windows 98 a few months back when the upgrade first became available. I was somewhat disappointed when I installed it and discovered that it was merely a minor upgrade with features that aren't really that...

Pros: Can uninstall itself Cons: I had a few probs, didn't like it
I recently tried Windows ME final, expecting to be blown away with greater stability, internet connectivity, multimedia, and toys. I was impressed with the last two, but let me tell you what I experienced.
I was running Win98 on an AMD...

Pros: Faster, More Stable, and Better Looking Cons: Media Player 7 Sucks
I have had the privilege to beta test Millennium over the past year and I can tell you that the newest addition to the Windows Family is the best ever for the home user. Microsoft really went the extra mile to make this version of the 9x core do the...
