Pros: Fast, Stable, Easy to use and Multimedia Rich! Cons: Not as stable as Windows 2000. Expensive!
The best Windows 9x ever! Although not as stable as Windows 2000, but it is a huge improvement over Windows 98!
When I got a copy of Windows ME from a friend, I was doubtful whether this operating system would be another failure project from...

Pros: umm...... I'm sure I'll think of something in a minute!?! Cons: Very slow, takes up masses of space, crashes a lot
After reading some of the reviews of Windows ME and seeing that some people have given it 4 or 5 out of 5, I felt I had to write and stop people wasting their money!!
One thing I haven't seen anywhere - it may have been mentioned but I...

Pros: improved stability, performance and new features Cons: doesn't recognize NTFS
Well ladies and gentlemen, here it is: the last OS based on the Windows95 kernel. While being criticized harshly for its instability, not true 32-bit architecture, bugs and limitations, there is no question that it (the kernel) has revolutionized the...

Pros: Simple and Easy to Use Cons: You have to REFORMAT
So you thought you would keep up with the times. You have a newer computer, so now it is time to use a new OS. Unfortunately you already installed Windows ’98. To be honest with you if you really want a good performance from your computer with your...

Pros: Installation, Looks Good Cons: Speed, Compliant Drivers, Crashes
I recently installed Windows ME on my home system. I did not upgrade Windows 98 with Windows ME, I started from scratch. The following lists things I liked and disliked about Windows ME.

Pros: The cd label is the nicest looking thing I've ever seen, not much else Cons: May cause your system to run slow, unstable, and you might have to reformat your hard drive without the opportunity to back it up...YAY!
I know some people are going to SR or NR this review simply because they disagree or think that I'm lying. I'd just like to say, that before reading this review, you must understand that I'm very upset that I had to delete my hard drive after using this...

Pros: Up to date, software is catching up, easy to use Cons: Unstable, hard to use advanced features, too fool proof
In Microsoft’s latest version of a “home” operating system, they’ve debuted Windows Millennium Edition, or Windows ME for short. Much like the interface of the Windows 95 and almost unchanged from Windows 98, it sports the usual Start Button, the My...

Pros: more stable, faster, lots of bells/whistles Cons: breaks some backwards compatibility
I've been a Microsoft Beta Tester since the first Win98. I tested Win98, Win98SE, and WinME (now testing Whistler). I have to say that WinME is the _first_ version of any Win9x I would actually recommend to anyone. However, if you have a choice, get the...

Pros: Useful Multimedia additions, Online help and system tools impressive Cons: No DOS capability, no visual improvement over 9x, Hibernate feature still shaky
After several years of Microsoft promising us that NT V5 would replace both NT 4 and Win 9x and that there would be once again "one Windows for all", Mr. Gates' outfit has once again pulled a fast one and conned us.
NT 5, known as Windows...

Pros: video looks better and more wallpapers Cons: convoluted and not enough drivers
I decided, after much thought,to purchase the WindowsME upgrade from Windows98SE(which is on sale for $49 US at Best Buy until the end of the year). I installed it, but there were several things that I did not like about it. Mainly the fact that it does...

Pros: Easy install, several upgrades in one Cons: Little improvement over Win98, HUGE hard drive usage
This PC user fought Windows for a long time with OS/2; but when it became a losing battle, I gave in to Microsoft and used Win95. It was another kind of battle; of errors, blue screens and careless use of system resources.
Windows 98...

Pros: Easy install while running Windows98 Cons: Still runs on the 9x kernel
I don't know what it is about these darn Microsoft operating systems, but they always make me crave the next version.
Is it that I think Microsoft has done a great job and I naturally want the next best thing? Or is that their products really...

Pros: New features appeal mostly to certain kinds of user Cons: Definitely not for everybody, definitely not bullet proof
I was on the fence about upgrading. From the reviews I had read, it sounded as though the product wasn't worth the money -- even at the $49.95 promotional rate. However, then the upgrade bug struck -- and I bought the product about a week after it's...
