Pros: new features, newer versions of Works, IE, and fun games, too. Cons: EVERYTHING else! Crashes, freezes, etc.
Long before I ever bought my new computer with this OS on it I was warned to avoid it at all costs. I should have listened to those that warned me because I'm sure learning my lessons now.
How I acquired ME:
I purchased a brand...

Pros: Improved help files, "go-back" system recovery feature Cons: Buggy, incompatibility issues, and no Real-Mode DOS!
Well, I just upgraded to Windows ME ignoring the countless number of reasons not to, and I must say I am VERY disappointed.
The main reason most people like ME is because they say it's more stable, but I'd say it might be slightly more...

Pros: Start Menu optimizer is handy. No installation or use problems. Cons: Slower than Win98SE, Clogs hard drive with useless features, causes computer problems.
I purchased the Windows ME full upgrade a few weeks after it first came out, mainly because it was bundled with an external zip drive that I wanted, and the price was very attractive. (As I recall I paid about $90 for the whole shootin' match)

Pros: VERY easy to use, fast Cons: takes up a lot of RAM
I had not owned a computer since win 95 was new so when I bought a computer with win ME on it I didn't know what to expect. I had heard it was worthless, but from my experiences, it is wonderful.
Microsoft did alot from win 95 to...

Pros: A LOT of features. Cons: Very slow.
I recently purchased a Dell Dimension computer. It came preloaded with Windows ME. I was all excited - because I had ordered a computer with a 600MHz processor, 10GB hard drive, 64 MB - which is a bit higher than the computer I had purchased in early...

Pros: It's a logical upgrade, offering features you probably wished for. Cons: It's buggier than Win98, particularly in the thumbnail viewing area.
Bill Gates was once quoted as saying that no one would ever need more than 640 Kilobytes of RAM. Now, with Windows ME, he’s selling a retail operating system that literally suggests you have at least one hundred times that memory. But rather than ...

Pros: easy to use Cons: bluescreens often
When Windows Me came out shortly after Windows 2000, it was the last DOS based Microsoft operating system to come from the company. Where Windows 2000 didn't deliver its promised home computing compatibility due to its lack of multimedia friendliness...

Pros: Easy setup, more stable Cons: Not a huge deal
Windows Millennium(Me) was to me, my savior. I thought it would be the best upgrade ever. I followed the entire process through its beta stages and when it finally went final, I was extatic.
I installed it on two different machines. Here are...

Pros: No more blue screen of death. Cons: No major changes
Ok so Microsoft doesn't come up with too many new ideas and this is seen in their latest operating system, Windows Millenium. Although its the same basic concept there was nothing really wrong with the original concept right? There wasn't there were...

Pros: More stable operating system than Windows 95 and 98. Cons: A surprising number of Mes multimedia and Internet services is actually free.
WINDOWS MILLENNIUM EDITION (aka Windows Me) is considered a minor upgrade from previous versions of Windows because it retains the same crash-prone kernel of its predecessors rather than adopting the more stable engine of Windows 2000, Microsoft’s...

Pros: Media Player 7, DirectX 7, Movie Maker, System Restore Cons: No dos, some manufacturers don't have drivers made yet
Windows Millennium is not a bad product. I should know. I get to sit around all day and fix it. I am a Support Proffesional for Windows Millenium. I've been doing this since before Millennium came out to the public, and it's really nice. ...

Pros: Better reliability, a few new features Cons: No more DOS
Windows Millenium Edition (Windows ME) is the next consumer operating system from the software giant Microsoft. I have had the privilege to preview this OS and I am quite pleased as well as surprised. I found it to be much stabler than Windows 98/98 SE,...

Pros: loads more stable, better features, well supported Cons: cost of the upgrade
My computer has been changed so much for the better since I replaced Windows 98 with Windows ME. Don't get me wrong in terms of features Windows 98 was a very good operating system, as would be verified by the massive worldwide sales that turned it into...

Pros: Pretty much the same as Windows 98 Cons: Pretty much the same as Windows 98!
Windows ME is really what Windows 98 should have been without as many bugs. Basically, Win ME is just a 3rd edition of Windows 98. It is not any kind of major upgrade. Going from Win 3.1 to Win9x is a major upgrade.
Windows ME does have...
