Pros: User Friendly, Great Multimedia Cons: Uses more system resources
Microsoft's newest operating system, Windows ME, short for Millenium Edition is designed for individual home users, not for business. It is available as an update package for around $100, Windows ME is the most radical upgrade to date in the Windows 9x...

Pros: It is on most new PC's. Easy for novices. Cons: No real improvement over Win 98SE and free Internet upgrades.
Do you feel somewhat confused with all the different versions of Windows out there? Considering just the versions from Windows 95, there is its successor Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition and now Windows Me, all for the small business/home user. For...

Pros: MUCH less crashing, improved multimedia support, and system restore! Cons: Still gets mysterious errors at times...
...and I think he has earned it this time. Windows ME is definitely a significant upgrade from Windows 95 or 98.
When I installed the upgrade, I at first saw nothing different. There were the same steps you went through with Win 98. Upon...

Pros: System Restore, Home networking supprot, other features. Cons: No real DOS mode, Buggy as ever.
I have Windows ME on My Dimension 4100 and have been fairly pleased with it although it isn't Linux, and it crashes just as much as ever. WinME has a few new features that Windows 98 Second Edition dosen't, but I don't know if it's worth spending $90...

Pros: Latest Updates Are Included... Cons: ...But You Can Easily Download Off The Internet For Free!
Ahhhh. Windows Millenium Edition. The latest iteration of consumer's Windows. I have just one question:
Why?
Let's review the history of Windows for a moment.
Windows 3.1 - Back in the days of DOS and the Command...

Pros: special features Cons: larger file than 98
Microsoft: Windows Millennium Edition is loaded with stuff that you need. It has stuff that is perfect for home offices, and your basic internet savvy person. The coolest part is that in the actual OS there is the mean to manage digital photos, music,...

Pros: lovely Cons: some bugs, can't say more stable.
When you try to fit a Porsche look to a VW some times things can go wrong!
Microsoft did -in a panic rash for feeding the market- developed an alternative solution for people who can afford, or having any kind of problem with Windows 2000...

Pros: Excellent interface, speedy boot sequence. Cons: Slow, unreliable, reduced DOS support.
Windows ME is quite a disappointment. Like Win98 SE, WinME should have been released as a free service pack. This release adds very little. It is bundled with the latest version of Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player, both of which can be...

Pros: Very Stable Cons: Most of the features you can get for free
Windows Me, is it worth the upgrade??? It maybe or may not. First off most of what is in
Windows Me you can download from Microsoft’s web site for free. Like:
1. IE 5.5 and Outlook Express 5.01
2. Windows Media Player 7.0
3. MSN...

Pros: Cheap! Not sure if that is really good. Cons: Everything else!
I have been working with Windows systems for many years now and have gone through pretty much the entire Windows line. From windows 3.1, all the way to the incredibly poorly made WinMe! I am UNIX systems admin, granted I may be biased to most windows...

Pros: The "ME" makes me feel special Cons: Somebody made money off of this product
Shame on Microsoft for developing this worthless excuse for an operating system! Shame on Dell for having the audacity to pre-install it on my computer! Shame on me for actually using the piece of junk for six whole months!
My once-brand-new...

Pros: More stable than prior versions, with better integration and more features. Cons: Very little changed since Windows 98 SE for the $90 upgrade.
When I originally purchased Windows ME, it was because my current Windows system had to be reformatted, and I thought I'd install Windows ME while I was at it... Little did I know that it was actually noticeably different from the Windows 98 1st edition...

Pros: overall better OS Cons: Installation process
When I first heard of Windows 2000, about one or two years ago, I was greatly awaiting for its arival. What soon to be found out, 2000 didnt offer the gamers requirements. Not a lot of driver support, slow; it was meant for business. Not long after...
