It's not Dreamweaver but I'm not a Rocket Scientist either !

by dougmjones Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Jan 14 '03
Pros: All you need for basic and intermediate design for personal or corporate sites.
Cons: They all have some shortcomings including Dreamweaver.
I have owned them all Frontpage 98, 2000, XP. Netscape Gold, Hot Metal Pro, Hot Dog, Claris Home Page, Dream Weaver and just about every WSIWYG html editor ever available. I love and hate them all.

I have Dream Weaver for Mac and PC and I...

by dunceisme , Aug 07 '01
Pros: Easy to use and create professional-looking web pages and sites.
Cons: It is expensive, web site must be configured to accept frontpage
INTRODUCTION
There are several different ways that an opinion on this software could be written, from the point of view of someone new to creating web sites, or a person who's tried several all-in-one web design programs. This opinion...

Quick/Efficient and Powerful Web Design Tool

by alanbweaver , Jul 25 '02
Pros: Easy to use, relatively simple
Cons: Sometimes acts up in updating images and needs to be rebooted
ADDITIONAL COMMENTARY - 5/3/03 - DHTML/LINKS
Although I still like working with the program, I'm noticing some minor problems. They have a DHTML (dynamic effects) which is great. It has been problematic more than once. One feature that I do like...

Do not expect...

by hobolooter , Feb 15 '04
Pros: Fast, easy to learn, works with beginners-experts designers/developers.
Cons: It has a bad reputation. tendancy to crash.
Do not expect, to have this software do everything for you, nor give you all expert choices, like the .net framework integrated. However you must remember that when you design/program websites the tool you use is very insignificant. Frontpage is meant ...

First step on the Web Design learning curve

by interpreter , Jan 15 '05
Pros: Excellent for beginners
Cons: Regardless of ease to use, one still needs computer knowledge
For all those who desire to post a web site on the internet, this is the software to first tackle before moving up to more sophisticated programs. After three years with FrontPage 2002, I advanced to the next level of web design - Macromedia web ...

Frontpage does it again.

by endurance , Jul 02 '02
Pros: Easy to use, Great for building Frames and Tables
Cons: Not as robust as some newer editors, meant for begininers
I have been a Frontpage user since the days of Frontpage 97, and now with 2002 I am still using it proudly. As some reviews from some sites state 'For people with a small brain' or 'For stupid people' well that couldnt be farther from the truth.

Sooner or later you'll own Dreamweaver

by TestMagic , Aug 11 '01
Pros: Easy to learn and get started with.
Cons: Hard to grow beyond a simple site with.
I bought FrontPage 98 a few years ago probably for the same reason you're at this page now--I wanted to start making my own web pages, but I was intimidated by all the stuff I would have to learn.

FrontPage is a great tool to get you started,...

Pros: Easy, Fast, Fun
Cons: Could be more themes, but there are lots of good ones, and others available online
WooHoo

I spent a few months playing around with what I wanted my website to look like using free programs and websites. I couldn't save the files, I couldn't move them around, I had to keep changing it over and over again, and it...

Prejudice against all but their own

by Pyr8 , Oct 31 '02
Pros: It's easy to use as is a standing tradition with most Microsoft software
Cons: non-cross-platformable, pricy for the limits it has
Microsoft has yet again made another product that for simple HTML will suffice in laying out tables and setting general HTML attributes. I however, will not advise anyone ever make use of this tool.
I would assume that if you are intending to pay...

The only Microsoft Program that ever disappointed me.

by fredrico , Jan 31 '04
Pros: It might work for you; not for me to say.
Cons: Even if you're a beginner, there's much better software to start with.
I'm not going to slam it, I'm not qualified to do so. I'll state up front, I have hardly used it. I bought it to get a site up quickly for my biz, then discovered the local community college was only offering classes in Macromedia Dreamweaver Studio MX. ...

Pros: Perfect tool for the novice or the pro.
Cons: None so far.
If you're looking for a tool that's easy to use, and still produces a nice web page, then FrontPage is for you. I've been using this product since the '97 version and have found it to be a great piece of software for anyone looking to create a web site....

by jukieusmac , Jan 16 '03
Pros: Very easy for anyone's first website
Cons: Expensive, dramatic effects do not always work
I made my first website with this software without having any previous experience with making a website. If you can understand how to use hyperlinks, you can understand how to build a website with this program.
Designing the site is no harder than...
