Pros: beautiful campus, stimulating, great community, challenging, great connections/opportunities. Cons: figure that out yourself.
Summary: I'm a sophomore undergrad here and honestly, after over a year, Cornell is ultimately the university you sign up for. What I mean by that is this - if you're looking for a college where you can get good grades and take a bunch of meaningless ... read more

Pros: The campus and all their cultural facilities are fabulous to explore. Cons: The students on campus are mostly quiet, unhappy-looking robots.
Summary: Seven years ago, I sought to get into this prestigious college, where my older sister had gone. I applied twice, but was turned down each time because my high school qualifications were inadequate by Ivy League standards. Ultimately I ended up attending ... read more

Pros: beautiful campus, excellent professors, unlimited intellectual resources Cons: weather, elitism, isolation
Summary: I have no need to beat around the bush and sugar coat things. Here are the facts, from my perspective:

Pros: Beautiful campus, diverse population, focus on teaching, resources available to students Cons: University seems strapped for money
Summary: I applied to Cornell's animal science department in the fall of 2000, and was accepted. I quickly learned that my experience of coasting through high school would not be repeated. As a pre-vet student I enrolled in several "weed-out" courses which ... read more

Pros: Beautiful campus, excellent size, terrific experience. Cons: Can't think of any.
Summary: When I say that I would cut off a finger to do it all over again, it sounds sort of drastic, but I really mean that. I can go on and on for hours about how much I loved Cornell. It was the best four years of my life, hands down. In the evening after ... read more

Pros: HUGE rooms with beautiful furniture; sinks in each room; quiet and pleasant; close to everything Cons: Dim lighting and atmosphere sometimes gives it an "old" feeling; not extremely social
Summary: I didn't request to live in Balch Hall when I sent in my housing application. Nor did I request a single. Nor did I request to live on North Campus. Regardless, Balch provided me with a spectacular living experience my freshman year at Cornell.

Pros: Great space, good location, nice neighbors. Cons: Too quiet sometimes.
Summary: It has been called "The Nunnery" due to it's women only restriction. However, I would say that Balch Hall is one of the best places to live on campus. The dorm rooms are spacious and well furnished and some rooms have their own sinks and if you're ... read more
