I think I probably know more about college tours than any other human being on this planet. I have two children- both geniuses (aren’t everyone’s children?) And looking for the perfect school is back on my list again. My son is ready to spread his...
Pros: Great for pre-med and journalists, great professors, wide course selection Cons: not great name recognition
I am a current Haverford student, and while I may not be the biggest fan of Haverford, after reading the current reviews that are posted about the school I have decided to write a little series. I hope that these articles will give people a better...

Having actually GONE to Haverford, and not simply toured it, I feel I can give a more accurate description of Haverford COllege, its academic, social and religious aspects. Any college counselor will tell you that Haverford College is a stellar ...

OUTSTANDING ACADEMICS
Our second offspring is now a sophomore at this outstanding college. I read the other review where they "passed" - too bad, that was their loss. The academics are...
Pros: Going to a school with a working honor code may be for you Cons: Going to a school with a working honor code is not for everyone.
Having been busy with medical training for the last 8 years, I've been lost to follow-up with Haverford. Recently though, I have rekindled my connections and am planning on volunteering for the Admissions office, so my opinions may be biased accordingly. ...
Pros: academics, classes can also be taken at Swarthmore and UPenn. Cons: lack of recognition
Haverford is one of those school that always make the top-ten list without anyone notices. I can't seem to find the reason behind it but if someone were to ask me to name ten best liberal arts school Haverford is always the last one I could think of. I...
I recently visited Haverford. It features a very nice campus, with quite a few buildings dating back to the 19th Century. There are also many modern buildings which are very well done. The exception to that is the gymnasium, which features basketball...

Haverford a Haven for Social Intellectuals by coach4college ,Aug 06 '04
Pros: Students develop a strong sense of their priorities and life philosophy. Cons: Small size limits the scope of some academic majors
As a certified college admissions adviser, I undertook a tour of several Pennsylvania colleges and universities in March. Haverford stood out for the quality of its students and its freedom to pursue academic passions. If you're a student who likes the idea of sitting in the hallway of a dorm and discussing the day's lecture without feeling like a nerd, or a student who enjoys positive debate and the give and take of a liberal arts education, you'll find peers of like mind at Haverford.
The library has a solid religious studies section, which provides the opportunity for students who are wondering who they are and why they're here a great resource for a variety of opinions. I felt students weren't being taught what to think, rather how to think for themselves. This intellectual freedom is a college ideal supported by the professors and the school's mission.
In addition, the students learn to listen, especially during the sessions where the student body has to determine and ratify the semester's honor code. Every student with an opinion has the opportunity to hold the mike, and no one leaves until a consensus if formed.
