The food system at URI is much like that at many other colleges, but the food itself is quite good. There are a few good places to eat, and a few that should probably be avoided. At URI there are three places to eat that have food that is quite good. In...
Pros: good environment, good academics Cons: film courses lacking
When I was a senior in high school, I was accepted to 4 out of the 6 colleges which I applied: New York University(NYU), Boston University(BU), Providence College(PC), University of Rhode Island(URI). Note the order in which I have placed those names. I...
Pros: Fun experience, quality education Cons: You get what you put into it.
In my 5 years at the University of Rhode Island, I have had a lot of fun and learned a lot too. But like most schools of this calibur, you get out of it what you put into it. You can come here for 4 years, do just enough to get by and get a degree, or...
Making friends is the key element to the Intramural Bowling Club. Scores are only looked at on paper because the getting together and enjoying a good game of bowling is the major stress of the club. If you are interested in bowling as a competition, I...
Pros: smoke and alcohol free Cons: one of the older dorms on campus
Here at the University of Rhode Island we have a wellness dorm, Tucker. This dorm emphasizes the need for mental and physical health. Every week there is a study break where snacks are served and people can converse in the lounge to have some friendly...
Pros: Beautiful campus, nice freshman housing, MANY extracurricular clubs Cons: Expensive for out of state students, no guaranteed housing after freshman year
I am a senior at the University of Rhode Island. I'm majoring in Zoology and Psychology with a minor in Anthropology. URI has a very good pharmacy program as well as an international engineering program. The rest of the departments here are somewhat...
Pros: plenty of organizations, beautiful campus Cons: huge party school
Your experiences here at the University of Rhode Island are directly related to who you decide to hang out with your first few months here. When I was a freshman, I joined many different organizations and got involved with school activities and my time...
Pros: Great programs, wonderful atmosphere, beautiful campus, respectable teachers Cons: not enough parking, no guaranteed living after freshman year
Coming to the University of Rhode Island one was of the best things I did in my life. I met lifelong friends, have two fun majors and a minor, and the teachers are great. I feel that if I have any problems, the teachers are always there to help.
...
Pros: Location, B-school, growing more challenging/competitive, hot girls, some fantastic professors, food, school colors Cons: cops, frat kids, rain island + winter, campus cleanup needed, parking
I attended URI and graduated with a degree in International business and minors in Spanish and marketing. Got a good job, travel all over the place. This week will be 1 year working after college and I have traveled to 6 countries and now I live in ...
I have to say that URI was a lot of fun but it has gone down since I went there. Academically I would have to say that it was alright it became harder and harder to get into the classes I needed and getting help was not so easy. The party aspect of it...
Pros: many programs, beautiful campus, great professors Cons: none
As a graduate of this school my experience at the University of Rhode Island was great. URI is a medium size school located in the southern part of the state. The school is absolutely beautiful and has a traditional New England look. It has terrific programs in business, pharmacy, nursing, and engineering to name a few. The professors are very dedicated to their students, and the students are top achievers.
I have honestly had the worst experience at this college. The faculty is awful, half of the are not even qualified professors and have no idea what the hell they are doing, or how to reason/ grade/ help students. The student body is mainly from Rhode Island, and uninterested in meeting other people, most people i have met are unfriendly, and could care less about your presence. The staff and advising department gave me the complete wrong advice to drop my class and i lost thousands of dollars. The parties are terrible and there is never anything to do on campus. I am definitly transferring next semester and I completely recommend NEVER going here. It is the worst university in quite possibly the entire country.
