Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Jul 21, 2006
Pros: Live instruction; On- line tools
Cons: Cost is high; Written part of the test should be de- emphasized

Summary: College entrance tests can sometimes present a serious challenge for prospective students and this is especially true for those who have been out of school for a long period of time. Study guides of all types exist and there are also some on- line ... read more

Pros: The first instructor (before they fired him)
Cons: Changing instructors midway through the course, Unreliable Online Resources, Kaplan's receptiveness to complaints

Summary: I took the Kaplan course in Ann Arbor and found that it is not only a huge waste of money, but the staff is extremely unhelpful and unorganized. I was so disappointed by their lack of professionalism and the way my course was conducted. For as much as ... read more

    Pros: Experienced teachers
    Cons: Unrealistic question difficulty

Summary: The biggest advantage of attending a course rather than working alone is the discipline of regular study. I attended the Kaplan GMAT course twice a week for three weeks and found the course to be well organized and the teachers to be knowledgeable and ... read more

    Pros: Test Practice, Teachers
    Cons: Pricey

Summary: If you want to get into a top school you need a great score. And, if you need some study discipline, test strategy and direction, sign up with Kaplan...if you have the money. I think I paid around a $1000 for 9 - 3 hour classes but scored very high and ... read more

Pros: Mark MacGwire and John Elway
Cons: Al Capone and the Unabomber

Summary: Wow, I spent $1000 on the kaplan gmat course and boy was it crummy! Eopinions wants me to give my "reason for taking the course". I'll tell ya', if you can't figure out why I took a GMAT prep course, then you've got bigger ... read more

  • Not worth the money

Rated Show by the Epinions community
    Apr 26, 2006
    Pros: Well organized
Cons: Hard marketing, less commitment, Tutors not qualified enough, lacks realistic question bank.

Summary: If you have a very short time to prepare and lot of money to spend the course may be worth it. Most of the questions in the course are from official guide for GMAT with slight alteration. You will see variations of the same questions in different CAT

Pros: No pros, this company is not to be trusted.
Cons: This company has completely undependable and uninterested in customer satisfaction.

Summary: I signed up for a course with Kaplan. No where in their literature or in the sign-up process did they mention that they could cancel the course without warning. I did not sign up with other test prep companies in the interim. Two days before the start
