Pros: Great verbal and science sections, convenient times, good text Cons: Expensive (like the others), mediocre writing coaches
Note: In California, the Princeton Review branch dealing with MCAT preparation merged with Hyperlearning; Hyperlearning is the official name of the preparation centers in California.
Imagine the scenario: 20 years old, pumped and ready...
Pros: Great test-taking strategy tips, simplifies material Cons: A little pricey
The MCAT has been the bane of pre-meds since the beginning of time. When I decided that I would join the ranks of that generally anal-retentive group, I was determined to stay away from MCAT preparation classes. Why? I thought that classes such as...
Pros: Enormous Bank of Question Material Cons: Price
At almost 1100 dollars, the Princeton Review Course for MCAT seems to be overpriced. Depending on your learning style, the course may or may not be what you expect. The money primarily goes towards paying the employees. However, the books are what is...
Pros: Free time to study Cons: May not cover all the material in depth
To tell you the truth, I'm writing a review about the USMLE (United States Medical Liscensing Exam) review class, but since there isn't a category for that, I thought students taking the MCAT class may eventually be interested in an USMLE review...
Pros: The course materials including review books and sample tests. Cons: They say they can change the course times at their whim.
I enrolled in the Princeton Review to prepare myself for the MCAT. I'm one of those people who needs the scheduled classroom time to encourage preparation. The instruction times were set for Saturday mornings and Monday nights with full-length sample...
Pros: Great material Cons: Teachers are smart, but they are arogant, self important. Waste of time to attend class
I took Princeton review. I found that teachers were self important and one was arogant know it all. They were almost inconvenienced when student asked follow up questions--internal message "you are not going to make it if you don't know this". I ...
Pros: Easy, low stress Cons: Too easy - you pay for it.
I, of course, took this course for MCAT preparation. I attended the D.C. branch.
I believe Princeton's philosophy must be that your basic testtaker is none-too-bright, needs pictures, and wants to do ok - not great, just get by.
The book...
Books are good but that's about it by assilem089 ,Apr 05 '07
Pros: books are helpful Cons: the teachers which are usually students and the administrative personnel
It's not worth it, I enrolled in a Mcat prep course and regret it after it. They only care about the money. They hired students as "teachers" which showed in class because they were nothing as expected. Their local staff did not really worked with me in some issues that I had. We had some issues about the instructors being late and in one occasion not showing up at all, another had family emergency which caused changes to our schedule, overall I would not recommend the classes. I like the books because they focused on what we really needed to study but $1700 for the books is too much money right!!!
