Decent low-end capture board

by alexkr , Nov 29 '04
Pros: Decent MPEG2 capturing quality, comes with simple DVD authoring software
Cons: DVD authoring software is buggy, MPEG2 encoder is susceptible to fast motion
I was looking for a simple MPEG2 capture board, and AVerMedia AVerDVD EZMaker caught my attention because it was very reasonably priced and offered DVD burning capabilities as well. AVerMedia AVerDVD EZMaker is a small PCI card, and my Windows XP ...

Crazy Easy - A++

by thehman , Nov 25 '03
Pros: Easy to Use, Burning in minutes, Very affordable
Cons: Found easier online than in retail stores.
I purchased this product because of its affordable price. My intent is to get all my 8mm camcorder tapes onto DVD. Here’s the deal, this product is what I call CRAZY EASY to install and use. If this company would advertise on a primetime market ...

The best for the price

by weazzor , Mar 11 '03
Pros: Excellent quality, easy to use, easy to install
Cons: Neo software is limited, strictly video
After having been steered toward high priced capture cards, I came across the DVD EZ maker. It captures in Mpeg mode, and is compatible with anything that has rca plugs. Capturing TV, Vhs tapes, Camcorder or even parts of a dvd for editing is quick and...

AVerDVD EZMaker

by grobbins1 , May 08 '03
Pros: Inexpensive, easy to set up. MPEG capture.
Cons: No editing software
The EZMaker cost me 47$ and was simple to set up. This card does the basics well for owners of analog camcorders. The card has composite and S-video jacks. The card captures in MPEG 1 or 2. Processor requirements for MPEG 2 capture are steep. I used the...

Pros: Mpeg 2 capture, plug and paly card
Cons: software interface is not user friendly.
This is Basic capture card. It was easily accepted in Windows as a plug and play device. Was a very easy installation and set up process. Main problem I had with this product was the software. Was not very user friendly. Settings were limited and...

HW & SW Are Fine
by junkliss ,Feb 13 '04
Pros: Great Value
Cons: No software manual
The software if fine if you go to the software providers website and down load their latest standard version (to overwrite the version that came with the card). The product is great and was $20 after Office Max rebate.

So easy to setup and use, but the software has problem
by jinyushi ,Dec 15 '03
Pros: easy to install, easy to use, output with standard format, and video quality is good.
Cons: The neo DVD standard software may has some problem burning DVD.
I bought this video capture card to replace my 2-year old PCTV pro from Pinnacle. The setup is so easy that I could not believe it, because I have trouble setting up PCTV pro. My machine is AMD Athlon XP 1400+ with 512 MB memory / 80GB hard drive with Windows 2000. Installation is a breeze, video capture is fully functional, I tried both MPEG1 and MPEG2 for 1 hour video, the quality of the mpg video are much better than PCTV pro, and I only need to spend 1 hour to get the mpg file. The mpg files are standard formats so that you can use Roxio Easy CD Creator to burn VCD/DVD. I did not use neo DVD standard software because I read several reviews that all said they can not use DVD standard to burn DVD. I do not want to waster my blank media. Over all I love this card.
