Pros: 40 track memory, seven repeat modes, remote interactive control,
holds 6-CD-ROM's Cons: Search Play only available with the remote control
We have an Onkyo Compact Disc Player that we have used for the past 2 1/2 years now. It is still right up there with the other newer models in terms of features and sound. We have not had any problems with our Onkyo and would recommend this model to...

Pros: Exceptional sound, feature rich Cons: lack of optical output

Pros: Can change discs while one cd is playing, remote control, programming, random play, etc Cons: Random play feature is for all or one cd in player.

Excellent Unit
by electropigeon ,Jan 01 '04
Pros: Great craftsmanship, sound quality far above par. Cons: Many sleeker models exist that will also support DVD.
Pure audiophiles will delight at this unit. Not only is the sound better than most other units on the market thanks to Onkyo's solid technology, it also has a sturdy feel to it. When the tray drawer opens or swivels around, you will barely hear a sound or see a vibration. The gears are built to last, unlike some other flimsy cd players.
If you're looking for an "industrial strength" piece of audio equipment, this is the one. While other units may be more discrete or more aesthetically appealing, this unit gives me comfort for its reliability and full, deep sound.
If you're looking for something slim, I would recommend looking at a DVD player, perhaps one that can play DVD Audio or SACD. I have to say that is one limitation of this unit.
