Pros: Inexpensive, adjustable volume, decent performance Cons: May not be as reliable as some more expensive subs
This review is on the KLH ASW10-120. For a time, I really didn't think I needed or wanted a subwoofer for my Dolby Digital surround system because I live in an apartment. When I finally decided I wanted one, I really was holding out for something from...
Pros: excellent value, sounds great after a few modifications Cons: not enough insulation inside the cabinet but that can be fixed
This is a review for the KLH ASW10-120. The difference between the ASW10-100 and ASW10-120 is obviously the last three digits, which indicate the RMS output (in watts) of the amplifier. What makes this a great value? Well, first of all this subwoofer can...
Pros: PRICE, SUPPORT, SOUND Cons: CONTROLS ON BACK, POSSIBLE FAILURE
Well how should I start. I guess that I'll tell you that this is my first sub and for the money, I believe that is just perfect for the avg. user. I bought mine from Best Buy and only 2 months later, it broke. I first noticed a funny smell, then I...
Pros: Performed beautifully while it worked, Cons: Only worked temporarily, was only considered a customer when I was at the check out stand once money was exchanged I was no longer a priority.
In March of 1999 I purchased a 6 piece home audio surround sound speaker system with a 10 inch powered subwoofer. I was quite happy with the sound and performance of my theater system, for almost 12 months (woofer was covered with a 1 year Manufacture...
Pros: Has very smooth, deep, accurate bass. Cons: Speaker Makes Rattling Noises on Driver Board at high volumes, but putting Caulk Material around it helps alleviate this problem.
I bought this product because I wanted to fill in the lower-end of my Sound System. Each Speaker Unit and Stereo Piece of Equipment is by a different Manufacturer.
Generally My Experience has been VERY GOOD with this Subwoofer. I LOVE IT! It...
Pros: Great sound in a little package! Cons: Haven't found any yet.
*****Please note that I was unable to find that exact KLH audio system that I purchased. I am writing about the KLH Audio System 100-watt Speakers with Surround Sound - Indoor/Outdoor model.*****
Pros: good sound for cheap Cons: touchy auto on/off, others seem to have had problems with it
I purchased my KLH sub almost a year ago. I got it to put it with my old setup that is now in my bedroom. I think I got mine cheaper then anybody else that reviewed it; $69 dollars at Sams Club. My current main system has a Paradigm PDR-12, so I...
Pros: Good sound, decent price Cons: Strange malfunctions
When I was building a home theater in my living room last year, I looked for a big screen television, a DVD player, a Dolby Digital 5.1 ch reciever, a 5 speaker system, and a decent subwoofer. I found all of these products at a local store and soon...
Pros: deep bass, loud sound, beautiful encasing Cons: none
My home stereo was always lacking that deep, wall rattling rumble, so I decided it was time for a subwoofer. KLH speakers have always been known for their long-lasting construction, so I began looking for a KLH ASW10-100. You will NOT find a better...
I got this sub as part of a $300 package of KLH speakers, and it's getting so bad that I'm shopping for a replacement as we speak. The range doesn't seem to go low enough for it to be considered a true "sub"woofer, and the bass almost always seems...
I bought this from Costco because it was cheap and I knew I could always return it.
Sounded decent for one month then burned out. This is a defective model. The internet is full of stories about KLH subs burning out. Don't buy it. Even for...
i'm trying to make this short and sweet, but the darned epinions site keeps telling me to add words to the review. hence this paragraph at the beginning of the review which has nothing to do with the sub. forgive me.
Pros: Good sound for the 11 months Cons: No sound after 11 months
This is the second klh subwoofer I have owned.
The first one was the 100 watt model the second one is the 125 watt model.
The both worked fine for almost a year than it they started making loud popping noises when the I turned the them up say half way.
Then the popping noises were still present at lower levels then they just wouldn't work at all.
2 klh subwoofers in 2 years equals piece of junk.
I am now going to purchase the Sony 8" 75-Watt Powered Subwoofer SAWM200 since it's the same price buta little smaller and less powerful. However it's still a sony and that should make a big difference in quality. Plus it got 2 great reviews.
What ever you decide to buy just make sure it's not a KLH.
Pros: Excellent Value for the money Cons: Need to add more fiberglass to get tightest bass.
I originally purchased a refurbished ASW10-120 for $90 in Jan 2002 - it had problems with the amp being HOT when it was off. I returned it a few days later.
I then went to Best Buy and got the ASW10-100"C" Model on sale for $100. I think is a third generation model. I have not experienced any problems, and it sounds better than ever after almost a year!
You CAN NOT find a more full-featured, spec-for-spec unit for $100! ...period! This sub is equal to other "Designer Label" brands in the $300 - $500 range!
I did put more fiberglass insulation inside as suggested in an earlier review, which definitely tighted up the slight mudiness under MAX gain. I also found that it sounds PERFECT for me @ 55%/60% gain. And I like the cross-over set at 180 Hz.
So, look for a "C" model, put some more fiberglass inside, and you've got yourself one hellava great sub for $100.
