Pros: Everything, storage galore, features galore, durable, a smart company that listens to consumers, great sound, upcoming features Cons: I could do without the pre- loaded tunes
Why in the world would you want to spend a decent chunk of change on an MP3 player? What could it possibly offer that you cannot find in a cheaper model? What is the one reason to buy this particular MP3 player? The answer is simple; you are talking...
Pros: lots of memory Cons: slow transfer rate + $500
The problem with mp3 players today...
Now I am sure we've all seen the latest wave of Mp3 players. They are small, compact, cool looking and have usually 32-64 mgs of storage for your favorite Mp3s. 32-64 mgs! Thats hardly enough. With...
Pros: Can store over 100 CD's worth of music Cons: Battery life could be better; expensive
Manufacturer: Creative Labs For more info, see: http://www.nomadworld.com

Pros: Huge storage capacity and incredible sound! Cons: Heavy and unwieldy...short battery life.
Reader’s Note: I never attempted to be a playwright in my entire life, except now…I hope you enjoy the new format…the old one can be left to ferment temporarily. I’m so miserable after failing my midyear exams, so I decided to be corny this time! Hey,...
Pros: Great storage, inexpensive, nice LCD viewer, easy to carry. Cons: Short battery life, impossible to upgrade, short product life.
Despite the recent influx of MP3 players to hit the market, the Nomad Jukebox is still one of the best MP3 players around. Although this product has now been around for a while, I decided to wait until the price came down enough to justify...
Pros: Large capacity, convenient size, great concept Cons: Expensive, still several kinks to be worked out
Everyone needs a new toy every now and then. Whether your toy of choice is a sportscar, a new kitchen appliance, a power tool, more stereo equipment, or an upgrade for your computer, I would wager that for just about anyone, there's a particular...
The Creative Nomad Jukebox is an amazing little piece of technology that allows you to store 100 hours of music (that is 1,200 5-minute songs) all on something the size of a portable CD player. You can transfer from your CD collection, or MP3 files from...
Pros: Storage space galore. Cons: It's always running out of juice!
I never wanted an MP3 player. I had a computer. It had thousands of MP3s on it. I had a cd player. I had hundreds of disc for it. Life was good. Why disturb the status quo? Then it was my birthday, and princess that I am, I knew I was getting...
Pros: Great storage. Good sound. Cons: Batteries are awful. Manual is awful.
Creative Labs and I have a mixed relationship going way back. There was a time when their SoundBlaster soundcard was second to none. Those cards held a place of honor in my desktop systems and a place in every computer I put together. I love my...
Pros: 6 Gigabyte capacity; USB interface; uses 4 rechargeable batteries Cons: Price a little steep
The main complaint anyone has for portable MP3 music players has been the extraordinary expense due mainly, we are told, to the cost of flash memory that is used in the majority of the players. Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox takes a different approach. It...
Pros: MP3 Storage Space, Sound Quality, Power Consumption, Features Cons: Price, might want to wait for further enhancements which are most likely just around the corner..
This is not the first MP3 player to hit the market, neither is it the first mp3 player to offer 6 gigabytes of storage space, but it is in my opinion the best overall innovation in the portable mp3 arena to date.
Pros: Massive storage capacity, excellent features, portability. Cons: Eats batteries like popcorn, minor issues with Windows XP.
Once more into the epinions breach, dear friends.....
I asked for and recieved one of these spiffy little Nomad Jukeboxes for christmas. I've had an overall positive experience with this product, though it does have some shortcomings that I...
Pros: Hard drive based storage - extremely large capacity for a very reasonable price, Nice navigation with backlit LCD Cons: Extremly large, over two times the size of it's nearest competitor, the PJB-100
Built around a 6 GB laptop hard drive, the size remains fairly small and the cost very reasonable. The problem with this design is that it re-introduces the problem of skipping by using a disk based storage medium. To fix this, an 8 MB buffer is used,...
Pros: great to listen to MY songs on the road Cons: controls are not that intuitive; what rechargeable batteries? battery-power option sucks
Being in a long-distance relationship, I do make frequent weekend drives that last about 2-3 hours. To make these drives a bit more pleasant, I purchased the Jukebox about a year ago. It has been an awesome companion.
Pros: Massive storage space, great interface. Cons: A tad bulky, but worth the extra weight.
Creative did one hell of a job with the Nomad Jukebox. Sure it may be a tad over your budget for a new gadget all your friends will be talking about, but it's well worth it. Not only does this thing pack on a whopping 6GB of storage space, but the huge...
Pros: Great technology, sleek design, great software, easy to use interface; fast USB transfer. Cons: HD can be a bit loud; slow to shut-down and power-up.
7-02:
I just purchased my Creative Nomad Jukebox through EBay a few days ago for $155 including priority mail shipping. This was a great deal. The product was brand new with warranty. When I opened the box, I was very impressed. It looked like...
I bought this product for a friend. My friend loves music so much they spend an inordinate amount of time downloading song after song from the net. Yes it is an important friend and yes it was relatively expen$ive. But my friends and their happiness are...
[Original opinion written September 2000; added comments 3/27/01]
I just bought my Jukebox a few hours ago, and I've been playing with it all evening. The controls are very intuitive; I managed to figure out all the functionality within a few...
Pros: Superb machine; so easy to use Cons: Battery life may be a problem
It’s surprising when and where it is useful (even necessary) to have access to music. My daughter wants to listen to the latest beat whenever she jogs or grooves with her friends; my son alternates between the favourite album and a good book when on a...
Pros: 6 GB of storage Cons: way too many problems for the price.
Although the idea of having 6 GB of storage is fantastic, this product just hasn't been perfected at all yet. Very buggy in fact. And considering the price that Creative Labs puts on this product, you would think that it has been *so* refined and...
Pros: Huge amounts of storage, fast and easy to transfer music, excellent sound Cons: long startup time, hard to navigate menus
I got the Nomad Jukebox (NJB) for Christmas and have been extremely pleased with the general idea of taking the equivalent of 150 CDs around with me without the added weight. The sound is excellent (depending on the quality of the MP3, but 160kbs and up...
Pros: enormous capacity, good sound, quality brand, rechargeable batteries Cons: short battery life, poor portability
My workplace is quiet - a creepy kind of quiet, almost morgue-quiet. I've never been a "quiet" person. Spending most of my waking hours in a silent place is, for lack of a better word, unacceptable. I turned to Creative Labs – the company that...
Pros: 6GB Hard Drive, 5 Min. Antiskip, tons of extra abilities! Cons: Only a few which I will mention.
Good day everyone,
I imagine that you have heard some mixed reviews on the Nomad Player. I myself am a very nit-picky person when it comes to quality, expandability, and extra features all for a reasonable price. I myself waited until the...
Pros: Mega Storage Cons: Some irritations with the software
I have wanted the Nomad Jukebox player for a very long time. However, I didn't think the $500 price, in the past, was worth it. Recently, Creative has reduced the suggested retail. I was able to find the Jukebox C player at buy.com for $259.99. I...
Pros: Massive storage, upgradable operating system. Cons: Not the most portable MP3 player; a bit expensive.
Finally! An MP3 player capable of holding more than 64MB of songs!
For a while, I have been holding out on buying an MP3 player, because to me, 64MB of MP3's just won't cut it. I mean...64 Megs is really only about 16 songs, about an hours...
Pros: The storage space, sound quality, features and tech support Cons: He loves it too much for there to be any negatives.
I bought the Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox for my boyfriend because he was whining that he absolutely needed a portable MP3 player. I'm not sure what would have happened had I not purchased it -- death, maiming, a hissyfit in an aisle at Best Buy...
I recently purchased a 32 Mb MP3 device and fell in love with the size, convenience and the ability to make my own playlists. However, after a week of manually adding tracks every night using proprietary software, I knew that I needed something more....
Pros: Stores many hours of music Cons: Poor user interface, short battery life
This is a fun little toy. I would recommend it to someone who wants to listen to music for many hours at a time. If you want something for the gym, I would recommend the Nomad II instead. It's much smaller, lighter, and has no moving parts so it won't...
Pros: Excellent sound, great storage capacity (now 20 and 30 GB too)!! Cons: Battery life (4 hours)...
After reading some more reviews about the D.A.P. Jukebox (a.k.a. Nomad Jukebox), I felt I should write another review myself, analysing its features point by point. This player seems to have let down too many consumers...but not me...
Once more I...
Pros: Backlight, Song Capacity, Sound Options Cons: Battery Life
Intro... I got this MP3 player...
I got this mp3 player online for about 200.00 dollars. It came to 236.00 with all the taxes and other stuff. I have been waiting to get an mp3 player for quite a while and took my time searching, and this one...
Pros: Preloaded Jazz/Classical Music, Ease of use, sturdy Cons: Weak Random/Shuffle, no built in Mic
After spending a month researching the 6G players, my wife surprised me and got me this for Xmas. I have been spending the time since playing with my new toy, and have enjoyed it immensely, although you do have to take some time to learn a few tricks....
Pros: Lots of space Cons: battery life, volume, PRICE
I read all the good reviews about this player and decided to go out and buy one. I was expecting a near perfect device. What I got was a pretty cool toy with a very very heavy price tag. I noticed two very large draw backs to this product in my first few...
Pros: Holds a ton of music, and searching by artist is great Cons: No fast forward or rewind within mp3 files
You could easily find this impressive MP3 players in James Bond's bag of tricks. With 6GB of storage it can hold more than 100 hours of music. With USB connection, rechargeable batteries, and sophisticated search capabilities, this is a powerful...
Pros: Good recording quality. Cons: Short battery life. Not able to record to mp3 or re-encode mp3s.
Creative Labs, at least to me, has often come across like the makers of the Macintosh: they can make brilliant hardware, but they can’t code to save their lives. My Soundblaster Live works teriffic, but the control panel set bars on programming idiocy....
Pros: 6 GIGS! Friendly Interface, Easy, 2 sets of Rechargeable Batteries, Adequete Connection (USB), upgradeable(firmware),remote coming out soon Cons: Backphones, Waiting time,Money if your'e cheap.
"Duhh, this kid left his book bag, hmm he has a cd player lets take it!"
"dUh Okay, hey wait a second.. it won't open"
"Oh man its broken, just leave it lets go".
Pros: Size (given that it contains a hard disk), Capacity, Ease of Use, Style, Value (not the cheapest mp3 player out there by far, but a real bargain if you divide it by the memory & compare!), Special features (like choice of background setting), Easy navi Cons: Takes a minute or two to boot disk, Short battery life (advertized at around 5 hours, usually a little shorter), In rare cases does not transfer entire song over the first time
When I purchase electronics, I do a ton of research online, here and other places. This past summer, I'd been searching and searching for a truly high capacity mp3 player to hold my large collection, and all I was finding was dinky (albeit cute) 64mb...
Pros: Price to Memory Ratio is unbeatable Cons: minor software, OS glitches, no remote
This is the best MP3 player ever came to Napster fans. With 6 GB of storage space, you can put hundreds of songs. Until a few month ago, I have been using Creative Nomad II. It was one of the best back then. It offered FM radio and voice recording...
Since the introduction of MP3 to the music scene, there have been many advances in making music devices smaller and smaller. The Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox is not one of these innovations. Although, at the size of a CD player, it packs some serious...
Pros: Terrific music quality, tons of disk space Cons: Buggy, organizational nightmare, I want more disk space!
I wanted to play my MP3s. The question then became: minidisc or MP3 player? Music mavens didactically pointed me toward the minidisc solution for music purity reasons. Apparently MP3 digital standards weren’t up to snuff in comparison. But I thought to ...
Pros: 6 GIGS! Cons: No Downloading BACK to the computer, price
The Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox is ONE of the best mp3 players on the market. There is only one other in its class, those with 6 gigs, that has surmounted the Nomad's greatness. This other, I will get to later. First off, the nomad boasts 6 gigs of...
Pros: 100+ hours of music in one device Cons: Software needs improvement
The Jukebox is a very nice and useful product. But there are also points that need improvement, otherwise I see the big electronic giants making even better products in the future and Creative could loose their edge.
I assembled a list of...
I had high hopes for the Nomad Jukebox. I purchased it because of theglowing reviews I found everywhere, especially on Creative's excellent support newsgroup.Maybe my high hopes set false expectations, or maybe I'm just though to please, but I was not...
Pros: It has a huge amount of memory for songs Cons: It is the size of a discman and that is big compared to other mp3's
The highest price that I can recall that the Jukebox was at, was $499. Recently, the price has been slashed by $200, and it is now $299. The Jukebox was worth it at $499, and now it is REALLY worth it at only $299. This thing comes loaded with 6GB of...
Pros: Stores 100's of CD's worth of digital audio, great quality sound Cons: a bit pricey, short battery life
The selling point of the Nomad Jukebox has got to be its storage capacity -- a whopping 6 gigabytes! That's enough space to store over 100 CD's worth of digital audio tracks. Also, there is no need for any removable media such as compact flash cards,...
Pros: Huge capacity, easy to find accessories, constantly upgraded firmware (2 upgrades in first 3 months already) Cons: Pricey, only a 4 hour battery life.
This was my first portable MP3 player purchase. I had wanted one for a while, but only having 32 or 64 MB just was not enough. I seriously considered getting a CD-R MP3 player for a while, but ultimately I wanted to get away from having to use CD's....
Pros: Almost everything Cons: Five hour battery life, but rechargeable and comes with two sets of batteries
Wow! This CD-player sized unit is on the brink of perfection. The Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox is the most ingenious device to hit the MP3 player market since HanGo's Personal Jukebox. Unfortunately for the sleek HanGo unit, it just got blown away by...
Pros: large memory, nice sound quality, long play Cons: a bit heavy, a bit big compared to other mp3 players...
The Creative NOMAD Jukebox is a portable, multiformat, compressed audio player with intuitive navigation for easy categorizing and classifying of content. Measuring about the size of a portable CD player and weighing only 14 ounces, this EAX-certified...
Pros: Great Sound!; Very User-Friendly; Great Features for Organizing your Music; Great Headphones Cons: Poor Battery Life; Would be nice if a little smaller
Overall, I give the Creative Nomad Jukebox a very high rating. I have read many reviews on mp3 players from people who are looking for the absolute perfect device, and therefore bring out any negative they can (no matter how small). The fact is, I...
Pros: Highly Portable, Huge Storage, Excellent Sound Quality Cons: Short battery life, the biggest of all of the Mp3 players
I'm a music and gadget fanatic and when I first learnt of MP3 I was excited. I can finally store all of my music on the harddrive, play them without flipping CD's, and have customized playlists but the problem was storing MP3's on a computer which I use...
Pros: Good sound, but an expensive and unreliable product Cons: 90 day warranty, pathetic tech support, lousy website and manual, this company couldn't care less
I bought 2 Nomad Jukeboxes for my daughters in January. Now one of them has a defective hard drive. It has never been dropped or mishandled in any way.
I PAID $500 A PIECE FOR THESE PRODUCTS 5 MONTHS AGO AND JUST NOW DISCOVERED THAT...
Pros: Lots of great features Cons: No fast forward or rewind
Loading music onto your MP3 player used to be an exercise in patience, math and frustration, with a close eye monitoring bitrates and file sizes so as not to fill up the precious 32 or 64 MB of memory.
Pros:Great way to take nearly your entire music collection anywhere you go Cons: Accompanying software a bit quirky, but getting better. Battery life is limited
Mobile Tunes
Unless you've been off the planet for the past several years, you are at least familiar with the music format called "MP3". Basically, it allows music to be stored in a tenth of the space it usually takes on your traditional...
Pros: Great sound quality and portability Cons: Still some bugs in the firmware
I deferred in writing my review so that I would have ample time to thoroughly evaluate this product. It's been almost 2 weeks since I bought the Nomad Jukebox and so far I can say I'm generally satisfied with it. At first I was worried about the reports...
One thing changes everything for this little beauty. Although it's nearly a year old now, Creative Labs has just dropped the price of this amazing little unit to UNDER $300. Whilst there web page claims they will be available for under $270 (And I...
Pros: 100s of Songs with excellent sound quality Cons: Initial glitches, loading times, battery life
It doesn't happen often. Admittedly, I love gadgets, but I am not quite the bleeding edge type. I like a dose of refinement with the latest piece of gear I've chosen to slobber over. That's why it was a rare occurrence for me to be...
Pros: Great form-factor, great storage size Cons: One-way only storage, dumb decisions on drivers, terrible menuing system, extraneous features, missing core features, bad charger, cheap batteries
I got one of these after seeing a demo at DDMI in LA a couple weeks ago, and I'm listening to it at the moment. This is another device whose amazing utility outweighs its terrible implementation. In brief, the Nomad is a 6GB MP3 player with the...
Pros: By far the best portable MP3 player Cons: Battery, interface, bugs
By this point, you have probably already read several reviews of the Nomad Jukebox. And 99% of them were probably glowing. I won't bother you with the great things about this device- it most certainly is the *best* portable MP3 player out there. However,...
Pros: a 100 hours of music!!! Cons: 3-4 hours battery life
If you are passionate about music, and have not only eclectic but also really picky musical tastes, then, if you can afford the 400+ price, by all means go out TODAY and get this wonderful piece of hardware. I've had the Nomad Jukebox for more than a...
Pros: Massive storage Cons: High price, a few bugs
The first time I saw this player, I knew I had to get one! I hate dragging CDs back and forth from home to work, this seemed the perfect solution for me. And for the most part, it sure is. The sound quality, storage capacity, ease of ripping and adding...
Pros: Gigantic memory, only the size of a CD player Cons: 4 hour battery life (if that); slow loading time
This MP3 player by Creative, who are the makers of the popular NOMAD brand of MP3 players, have developed this next generation MP3 player. This high-capacity MP3 player is the first of a new revolution of large memory MP3 players. Gone are the days...
Pros: Awesome capacity, great sound quality, fast transfers Cons: Crappy headphones, high battery consumption rate.
I have to admit it, I'm a gadget freak.. I'm the kind of person that has 10 remotes and all the coolest new toys, so it it of little or no surprise that I bought this. But, that said, this has to be one of the coolest products I've ever seen...
Pros: Easy to use, 130+cd capacity, Chix dig it :) Cons: Kinda big, Batt life, no inline remote
My perspective:
An avid Macintosh user, Audiophile, Technophile, and of course Music lover.
I moved from this product from the MiniDisc platform. I previously tried a Nomad II, but 32 or 64 megs is just silly when you can buy a blank MD for $1,...
Creative's latest creation is simply amazing. From the day I purchased my Nomad Jukebox I was in awe at the music capacity available in such a small unit. Not to mention all the customizable options. I'm still finding features three weeks later! At...
Pros: : Massive storage space, great interface.
Pros: 6GB of music, very nice design, USB connection, 8MB skip-free memory Cons: Expensive, Big, Heavy
This is the second Mp3 player I purchased. I originally bought the Nomad 64MB version, and now I am sick of only 64 minutes of music, so I bought the Nomad Jukebox. I thought with 6000MB, or 100 hours of music, I would love this Jukebox thingy, but I...
Pros: Huge 6 GB capacity, upgradeable firmware Cons: Not skip-proof, minor design flaws
When this product first debuted, I tried to no avail to acquire one. Eventually, I resorted to placing a back-order through buy.com, because they had the best price. Six long weeks went by before my back-order was finally filled and the Nomad Jukebox...
Pros: Decent storage space and sound. Can categorize music. Cons: No AM/FM radio or player to PC xfer. Fragile. Somewhat bulky.
This is a MP3 player great for your home or car audio system. It stores loads of MP3s and you don't have to carry your PC or laptop around to listen to them. It is not as portable as some of the smaller capacity players, such as the Nomad II but if...
Pros: Tremendous storage space, simplistic speedy menu to navigate. Cons: Short battery life
I purchased the Creative Nomad Jukebox because I wanted a portable MP3 player that would not skip. With that in mind, the Nomad Jukebox looked like a pretty good buy because of its storage space and the fact that it realistically won't skip (unless in an...
Pros: Excellent storage space, great sound, many features Cons: Poor battery life, four-channel sound is not true
New MP3-player from Creative NOMAD Jukebox (second title for Europe D.A.P. Jukebox) is possible to name as the representative MP3-players of new generation. As the information carrier in it is used the hard disk. Due to such solution and many additional...
Pros: 6GB of storage, organized interface, USB, infrared port for future expandability. Cons: Transferring large amounts of data might take a while.
The Creative Nomad Jukebox is a marvel. It can hold and play back 6GB of music (or about 1,200 songs) ranging from mp3’s to wav’s to wma’s and more. Also, you can use it to store general file types such as MS Word files or your backup Quicken Finance...
Pros: Store all your music, portable, good sound quality, nice interface Cons: Poor battery life, can be damaged by dropping
I got a Creative Nomad Jukebox last year. It has a 6 gb hard drive in it which allows you to store about 1200 songs in near-cd quality. If you're into MP3s, you already know all about it, but if not, you can download music off the internet, and using...
Pros: Great cross referencing firmware, nice LCD Cons: Short battery life, large size, sound quality not great.
I wanted an MP3 player. I didn't want a solid state player because I wanted to carry around more tunes with me than an hours worth, plus I didn't need a machine to take with me on jogs or what not.
Pros: Short battery life, poor design Cons: Storage
Like others I bought this unit because of all the hypes about this unit. I am surprised that so many people are over-hyping this unit with untrue information. Some even claiming battery lifer of 10 hours, the official number is 4 hours, and I get...
Pros: Great sound quality, easily upgradable. Cons: slow boot up, invonvienent and hard to control menus.
If you are like me, and have 100+GB's of MP3's on your computer and have always wanted a player to use, this MAY not be the one. I won't get into all the specs because I am sure you have read them all before.
Pros: HUGE STORAGE...EASY TO USE... Cons: Takes some time to load up and down
I recently bought a Sony MD player. It was nice but I wanted to be able to get my songs onto one machine...also MD players and MP3's take to much time to transfer songs.
This is when I found Nomad Jukebox. It have a 6 gig hardrive which is...
This is one of the most innovative products we have seen so far. It will be the prototype for all the new portable audio players coming out. The current 32mb and 64mb mp3 players are going to fall flat on their face. I cannot see why anyone is buying...
Pros: Fabulous design, incredible audio quality, gigantic storage, everything you could ever want. Cons: Crap for battery life.
I like many people have a large collection of Mp3s. I did have a Sony Walkman before this that I was very satisfied with. My biggest hate with my CD player was the constant burning of CD's. I decided to go Mp3 and went searching on Ebay. I got my...
Pros: 6GB holds quite a bit of songs, great sound quality Cons: VERY long load times, difficult to rename files and transfer files at times
For storing around 2000 songs, this MP3 player is perfect. At around the size of a portable CD player, however, it isn't the device you'd want to lug around while taking a jog. For listening to your entire song collection on the road, though, nothing...
Pros: Size adequate, great storage space, software easy to understand, orginization Cons: Battery life is horrible, volume capacity(adjustable)
This is overall a great mp3 player that would be on the top of the charts IF the battery life was significantly better. As of now the batter life can last less than one hour maybe more, and when you record it eats the batteries extremely quickly. The...
Pros: 6GB of storage, upgradeable, great sound, great design! Cons: Battery life...
What can I say about Creative Labs Jukebox? From what I have read, people all over complain about bugs and crashes and...whatever.
It was said by the developers of the JB, that within a few months of releasing the unit, upgrade firmware would become...
Pros: Holds 1200 SONGS !!! VIEWABLE INTERFACE !!! Cons: LARGE
This SUPERFUN unit will hold an entire collection of 110 CD's! Possibly more or less, depending on if you listen to 16 minute classical songs, or 3 minute pop songs. I bought it because MP3 players looked fun, not because I needed one. I wood prefer...
6GB is quite alot, many music users may never need this much memory, but for others it maybe not enough. Theres something pretty cool about knowing you can pull up a song out of your collection on command out of something residing in your pocket, but you...
Pros: Lots of storage space (stores hundreds of cd's) Cons: Durability
I had this music player for Christmas 2001. It's not something I would have thought of buying and I must admit I turned my nose up when I first opened the present. Now I love it. All my favourite albms in one place. You can set up playlists and set...
Pros: Holds six GB of digital audio, has multiple playback options Cons: Ugly, short battery life, software and hardware must be continuously updated
I purchased two player a little over a year ago. At the time, they were selling for $500.00, they are now in the $250.00 range. Your music is organized by artist, album, genre or play lists. One can use the included software to organize and then...
Pros: The ultimate portable walkman. Period. Cons: None I can think of.
When I heard this puppy could hold 150 hours worth of CD quality sounding music on it, it wasn't a question of if, but when I was going to have it. It's simple use, as well as upgradability (see...
Pros: palm-size(light),extern hard drive,MP3 player Cons: if u can afford it
Before u go out and buy a jukebox, check out the 6 GB MP3 player and external hard drive from Archos; unlike Creative Labs, Archos did not bow down to the recording industry, and did mot make the Archos SDMI compliant. This is a good thing. It means you...
Pros: Great sound quality
Holds lots of music Cons: A bit bulky
Sometimes confusing to work with
I was once like you: confused, wondering where I could find a really good MP3 player for a cheap price. Well, after researching the internet (And other epinions too), I decided to buy the Nomad Jukebox 6GB off of E-bay for $117. I was a bit nervous....
Pros: Stores 100-150 CD's, good user interface. Good bundled software Cons: Heavy, eats batteries quickly. No all-track shuffle mode
Early Nomad Jukeboxes were not that impressive..The bundled software to transfer files to it was extremely buggy and crashed no less than 20 times during my putting 5.5 gigs of music on it. Later revisions are almost bug free though!
Pros: Storage, Size, Ability to Update Cons: Battery Life, Instructions
In about a month I leave for College ... since the trip I was supposed to go on didn't pan out my parents gave me some money to do with as I pleased. Now I'm a music junkie so when I saw Creative's new Jukebox I was interested ... I compared it to a few...
Pros: Lots of capacity Cons: Line in recording is horrible!
I bought the NOMAD JUKEBOX (NJB) to be able to record live music in uncompressed, WAV format and then conveniently upload the WAV file to a PC for editing. During recording (with a Sony ECM-MS907 mic) the NJB introduces a lot of background noise (high...
Pros: Storage capacity, EAX Cons: Price, no fast forward or rewind, not as customizable as thought to be
The Nomad Jukebox is really the beginning of the next step in mp3 storage/players. The 6 gig storage space (actually it is about 5.8 gigs) is great, the EAX is cool, the layout is easy, the style is sleek and obviously I really liked the product in...
Pros: Large Storage Capacity Cons: Crashes, Can't Record MP3s, Buggy
If you are looking for a portable recorder with 100 hours of recording time don't look here. This product misrepresents itself and provides primitive functionality from a company that still can't figure out the basics.
Pros: Easy to take with you anywhere! Cons: The price!
I bought a Nomad Jukebox to not have to carry around a backpack full of CDs with me in the car to school. I have nothing but good things to say about the Nomad Jukebox. It's interface is extremely easy to use, and takes almost no time to learn. It has...
Pros: 6 gig storage of mp3's, twice that with latest .wma standard! Cons: Initial cost, but prices are much lower now.
The Creative Nomad Jukebox may not have been the first, but it is still the best. Originally a $430 item, they now sell for $279 retail. A 6 gigabyte hard drive, they hold about 100-150 CD's worth of MP3 files. But if you download the latest .wma...
Pros: Tons of music on the palm of your hand. Cons: Slow access, BAD battery management, noisy recordings, difficult operation.
Creative Labs stroke very close, but missed the mark nevertheless.
The concept is great, but the execution is flawed to the point that one of the main selling features of the product -that you can record MP3s with a microphone or a line-level sound...
Pros: Everything about it Cons: It takes a little while to load up once you get about 1000 songs.
The Nomad Jukebox is definitley an item you want to add to your "things to get" list. This is a great portable player for music fanatics, and people who just like listening to music. I have had mine for about a year and I still absolutely love it. It...
Pros: Take your music with you, anywhere. Cons: Poor control layout, case does not allow access to controls.
My relationship with the Nomad started out very rocky. I found the controls awkward and laborious. My first unit had a few problems that went away when amazon.com sent me a replacement (after my request). These problems included low output level and...
Pros: It hold's a lot of Mp3's. Don't have to bring Cd's to work. Cons: Battery Life. Large & Heavy but hey it basically a small computer for music.
I've played with lot's of Mp3 & Music products. This is by far the best. I recommend using Kazaa or Mopheus to get free music (both free & downloadable at CNET) then easily importing the music you get free into your Nomad Jukebox via the bundled...
Pros: Stores tons of music. Cons: Not a true portable.
Silly digital sound effects.
Horrible battery life.
I bought this after I returned my Archos. The Creative jukebox with software upgrades works without problems for me. I have stored over 140 albums on it. Different bit rates depending on how much I like the album.
I got my...
Pros: Huge Memory, New Low Price Cons: Relatively Large Size
This is the greatest mp3 player ever. Here is why:
1. Huge Hard Drive
With 6GB of memory, this baby can hold more songs than all other removable memory mp3 players. What's more, you can even upgrade the hard drive to 20GB! (See...
Pros: I purchased this unit to play music 24 hours a day for my office telephones. Cons: No commitment to service.
I bought the Nomad Juke Box thinking that since it had no moving parts, it could play 24 hours a day when hooked up to my office phone system to provide music to callers put on hold. After a month of this continuous use the unit felt a bit warm so I...
Pros: Large Memory; good quality Cons: Poor tech. support; truncates songs
I selected This creative labs product because of the large hard drive and good music quality. I found the USB connector was not being recognized by my laptop and on a second PC, napster MP3 files were being truncated in the transfer to Nomad. (3:04...
Pros: holds up to 2 weeks worth of music Cons: long boot up time
The Nomad Jukebox, in essence, is an incredible idea. This portable CD-player sized digital music machine, hold up to 64MB of music, virtually 2 weeks worth of constant music in MP3 form. it is light, extremely portable, and can hold your entire CD...
Pros: Huge storage. You can download improvements. Cons: Size is large.
I received the Nomad a year ago as a gift before I took a multi-day cross country trip on the train. It was great entertainment, the only that I did not like about the product was that the battery life is too short.
Pros: That is one monster hard drive Cons: Just what the heck is that infrared port for?
When I bought this I was a little leary of spending that much money for an mp3 player. What if the sound is horrible? What if the battery life is too low? What if the interface is clunky? Well I was wrong on all cases. I got a great player. The...
Simply..... Awesome. The Nomad Jukebox is the best mp3=player out there. The extensive amount of space available for songs is incredible. Don't spend your money on those cd players which read burned mp3's cause there a waste.
Pros: huge storage space, dropping price. Cons: Display cumbersome and slow to load.
This product became well worth the money only after I bought a power adapter for my home, office and a jack for my car. It's bulky to ride around with a cassette adaptor and another adaptor trailing from my lighter socket. But I am a music junkie and I...
Pros: unlimited storage Cons: price, size, menus menus and more menus
I've had the nomad jukebox for a month now. The idea is in the right place but the design isn't. First of all it looks just like a cd-player. One of the reasons to buy an mp3 player is because of the size. Another thing, the batery life! 4 AA...
Pros: Largest storage for any available mp3 player. sounds great. easy interface. Cons: Needs an easier random play feature (1 button)
I had looked at all the MP3 players on the market and came to the conclusion the the Creative Nomad Jukebox was the one. The price seems high until you consider that with other players you will need to buy extra memory cards (very expensive) to store any...
Pros: Great sound, huge capacity Cons: Battery life
I have been looking for a MP3 player for a long time. The lack of storage was the key issue. I did not intend to use it for strenuous activities, so solid state was not an issue. The Nomad Jukebox really met all of my requirements and more. Sure...
Pros: Great sound, acts as a portable harddrive (although kinda slow compared to firewire) Cons: Short battery life, can't play 32kbps mp3s (w/the storage capacity you should never need to...)
This is a great product, I don't know what else to say about, it has everything I could possible ever want (and with the upgradable os who knows, mabye more than that!). Compared to the Rio500 (of Which I own one also) i find that the NJB beats it out in...
This is a great piece of hardware for all music lovers. The Creative Labs Nomad is for the wonderers in the world. It is great for its size, considering they fit a 6 GB Hard Drive in it. The music sounds great and there are audio jacks for every type...
Pros: 6 Gigs - what else do you want? Cons: $400 is a hard hit to take initially, but it pays itself off
Look at this BAMF! Weighing in at a little more than 6 GIGS this player is the way to go. I'm the first to admit it's not the final word in MP3 devices, but it's a step up from the POS players I have seen in the last 2 years or so. $200 for 64 megs or...
Pros: Huge storage, Organized menu, Ease of Use Cons: A little heavy and big but hey it's 6 GB!!!!
I'd been waiting for the hard drive based MP3 players to come down in price and they finally have. You can find this model on the web for as low $150 used and $180 new! That's a great price considering you can get over 1000 songs on this thing!

Pros: Great Sound Quality, Relatively Small Size, Good Construction Cons: Software is a work in progress. Battery Life is awful. No remote.
I've used this for 3 months now. Overall it is a landmark creation. The best combo of sound quality and music quantity in a small package. They have an excellent sound chip for great audio.
Creative Nomad Jukebox 6GB by cyprus481 ,Feb 16 '04
Pros: Great sound. It Records very well! Price, I got mine very cheap. Durable. Cons: Its big compared to others but its more than worth it.
If you are a musician, this mp3 player is great. I have all my albums on it, I can set up two mics and record practice sessions or record material for auditions in stereo with great sound. I can't say enough about the sound quality it puts out. It is also pretty easy to use. I learned pretty much all there is to it in about an hour without looking at the directions. The only drawback is the size (about the size of a CD player) compared to its competition, but the fact that this is one of the only mp3 players over 5GB right now that records put it on top for me.
this is the best mp3 player in the world.
it's great thing didn't stop one time.
be sure you will listen to your own music any time any ware.
the sound quality is very very good i didn't hear sound like this before.
3 ext. mp3,wma,wav it's realy powerfull thing.

what r u wating for,go buy it now!!!
I've had this for about... by dogman_dt3000 ,Feb 21 '03
I've had this for about two years now and am very happy with it. I have about 4 gigs loaded (about 65 hours of music). I mainly use the shuffle feature to listen to the tracks randomly.
In the car, it's great. Note that you can't leave it in a parked car during the summer. If it gets too hot, it won't turn on. When it cools down again it works fine, but that takes a while.
When I connect it up to my band’s PA system, I can tell that the audio quality isn't perfect. All MP3s are encoded with Lame VBR high quality, and they all sound great on my main system, so I know it’s the Jukebox that’s decreasing the quality. Also, there’s no Automatic Volume adjustment, so some songs are much louder than others. But it’s small, light, easy to carry, and works well for background music between sets.
We also sometimes use it to record our band’s performance. The only problem here is that there’s no record level, so if you don’t guess the record level correctly it sounds like crap.
