I bought the MZ-R900 early January 2001. I saw it on eBay, on various discussion groups, on www.minidisc.org, and a bunch of other places- including ePinions. I already own a few other MD portables, but I wanted to upgrade to a unit that wouldn't...

Pros: silky surface, easy enough to use Cons: small screen,in-ear 'phones
It may be a smidgen larger than slightly more recent models from Panasonic and Sharp, but to my mind Sony's current range-topper is still the most sexy. Its pocket-size design screams gorgeous gadget from each silky surface, its new generation Walkman...

Pros: Everything, good sound, awesome features! Backlit remote comes in very handy! Cons: With having spent 270 Dollars, the headphones certainly could be better.

Pros: Excellent size, battery life, general sound quality, form factor, one-touch eject. MDLP2 works really well. Cons: Poor headphones, slightly low headphone output. Not to be dropped.
Well, up until recently I owned the Sony MD-R35 and Sony E-62 recorder and player combination. After trying out the Archos Jukebox and deciding it was too expensive, I took the plunge, sold my existing mini disc kit and purchased the MD-R900.

I had my MZ-R90 for a while now, and with that, I had no problems. I enjoyed the long batter life, portability, cool design, and excellent sound quality that sony offers.
