by mymaster , Mar 08 '01
Pros: Portable, Features, Battery Life, Style
Cons: Price, Headphones, Available only in "Japanese" version
Before buying the R900, I was debating between an MP3 player and the Minidisc format. Here's how I broke down the argument:

MD Pros:
Not limited to MP3 format.
$2-3 for a blank disc!
MD Cons:

by christiaan , Dec 07 '00
Pros: Great battery life, MDLP, sound quality
Cons: 4x times not really good for music, but great for speech, expensive
I've just received my R900 and I could not be happier with it. I've really researched the market before buying and couldn't go with any other md player after discovering what it can do, especially:

I bought the MZ-R900 early January 2001. I saw it on eBay, on various discussion groups, on www.minidisc.org, and a bunch of other places- including ePinions. I already own a few other MD portables, but I wanted to upgrade to a unit that wouldn't...

A good Sony MD

by zwjcsj , May 01 '03
Pros: silky surface, easy enough to use
Cons: small screen,in-ear 'phones
It may be a smidgen larger than slightly more recent models from Panasonic and Sharp, but to my mind Sony's current range-topper is still the most sexy. Its pocket-size design screams gorgeous gadget from each silky surface, its new generation Walkman...

by treefrog08 , Jul 16 '01
Pros: Everything, good sound, awesome features! Backlit remote comes in very handy!
Cons: With having spent 270 Dollars, the headphones certainly could be better.
Before purchasing this product online for 270 Dollars, I did alot of research, and this was the Minidisc Player that stood out from the other choices i considered.
I wont go into details, because the other oppinions have already done so, and I...

Pros: Excellent recording, playing, everything!
Cons: It can't clean my house

Very cool machine - get one!

by rick_peddler , May 09 '01
Pros: Excellent size, battery life, general sound quality, form factor, one-touch eject. MDLP2 works really well.
Cons: Poor headphones, slightly low headphone output. Not to be dropped.
Well, up until recently I owned the Sony MD-R35 and Sony E-62 recorder and player combination. After trying out the Archos Jukebox and deciding it was too expensive, I took the plunge, sold my existing mini disc kit and purchased the MD-R900.
