by dkozin dkozin is a Lead on Epinions in Electronics, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, Feb 22 '01
Pros: Excellent sound, powerful shock protection, nice design, compact and lightweight, plays CD-R
Cons: Impossible to find proprietary rechargeables
The Panasonic SL-SX271C is basically a SL-SX270 with car kit (car power adaptor and car cassette adaptor). It has attractive design with silver (there is a variation with blue metallic) lid.

Large and nicely shaped buttons are located...

Panasonic SL-SX271C - music to my ears :)

by susidee34 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Jan 09 '01
Pros: Good price, good quality, easy to use and install
Cons: None for this unit
Santa, apparently thinking I've been a very good girl this year (plus a lot of hints and whining) brought me a portable CD player. Santa is a very, very good guy (uh, sorry I ate your cookies, but I got hungry waiting for you).

Exactly...

by ChoadKing , Jan 06 '01
Pros: Only $80 for the whole package, Antishock protection, Lasts a long time on batteries
Cons: BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
I got this CD player from Best Buy about 6 months ago when I realized I needed to listen to something during long car trips. I got this CD player because of its features and its low price. The player, headphones, AC adapter, car power adaptor (Plugs...

Pretty much all that I need.

by smokingbear , Feb 03 '01
Pros: sleek design, relaxed sound, big buttons, car kit, anti-shock, good battery life.
Cons: body paint not very durable.
I bought this for over a year. I never noticed how light and small this unit actually is until I bought a second portable CD player later. (I am just too lazy to detach this one from my car so I needed a second player.) It looks pretty cute comparing...

Excellent portable CD for the price

by jrothstein , Feb 03 '01
Pros: Great price, terrific anti-shock, very light.
Cons: Low-end headphones, weird usability choices, feels a little loose.
This is a really great little CD player for the price.

Unlike a lot of the other models I looked at, the design is simple and style takes a backseat to included features. I got an exceptionally good deal at $49, but even at the usual price of...

I Miss This CD Player

by insouciant , Oct 12 '07
Pros: stylish, many functions, anti-shock memory
Cons: not loud enough, the "hold" setting causes the CD not to play sometimes
I had this sleek, pretty CD player for a few years and used it exclusively in my 1 988 Honda Prelude. It had anti-shock memory so it didn't skip while I drove. Playing your favorite tracks off of a CD and skipping the ...

Long Lasting Music

by jaymelee , Feb 09 '01
Pros: excellent anti shock, long battery life, car adapter, very lightweight
Cons: headphones are terrible
I purchased this cd player approximately 8 months ago. It was very stylish, lightweight, claimed to have excellent anti-skip and very long battery life. This cd player has been dropped down stairs, thrown, been squashed by things in my gym bag, and...

Excellent Value

by cwiebe , May 10 '01
Pros: CDR Compatible, long battery life, bass boost, car kit included
Cons: always defaults to repeat entire CD on powerup. 10 second statup time with Anti-Shock enabled.
After looking at a Sony equivalent that also included a car kit, the Panasonic SL-SX271C is a winner. Plays CDR's, Panasonic recommends staying with blue or silver colored CD's for best performance. Output is decent, but I'm not looking to blow my ears...

I bought this CD player about 3 moths ago and have never had a problem with it. I bought this for $60 at Best Buy (a great deal) when my old CD player suddenly stopped working. Since then, I have only had to change the batteries twice. I use this player...

This is a pretty good portable cd player. I also have an Aiwa model which is a lot better. I bought this one to take to the gym so because i did not want my good Aiwa cd player to get stolen, so I got another one. I am not a fan of any Sony so I bought...
