A Less Than Rave Review

by Bruguru Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50, Jul 02 '01
Pros: Good on batteries, works about half the time.
Cons: Far too many.
Those of you who know me even a little bit know that I like to drink beer. Some of you may also know that I’m diabetic, and that the two do not mix very well. So how do I do it without sending my blood sugar skyrocketing through the roof? One key of ...

Mine was a lemon... or was it?

by ericgreene , Sep 23 '00
Pros: It plays mp3s... kind of.
Cons: Get the Nomad II.
About 6 months ago I was browsing ebay and came upon the RaveMP 2000. It was cheap; and I bought it.

From the moment I plugged in the headphones and played the demo song that came with the player... I was disappointed.

Many...

Rave MP-2000

by Big_Brother_79 , Oct 19 '00
Pros: Good features; Nice recording quality; Compact and light
Cons: Bad sound (playback) quality for MP3s
I have the MP-2000, which has 32MB of memory but is pretty much the same besides that. I have to say that I am not especially happy with the product. It works wonderfully, and is very easy to use. The software that comes with the player is easy to set...

Rave is good w/ minor bugs

by jebber , Dec 14 '99
Pros: Lightweight w/ voice annotation
Cons: slight buzz in the headphones, proprietary memory expansion
Overall the RaveMp is good. I have the 2000 version which only has 32mb onboard. I recommend going for the 2100 which holds 64mb onboard and can be supplemented with 32mb removable flash card.

The Good
The weight is good, the design is...

Premium player, unfortunately, also at a premium price

by jtran , Apr 23 '00
Pros: Amazing featureset, nice grip, does what it claims to do
Cons: Expensive (all 64MB players are though), buttons could be arranged better
I've been dying to buy an MP3 player as soon as they were available on the market. Earlier last year, I purchased a Diamond PMP300 MP3 player, but I ended up returning it to the store due to problems with the MP3 transfer, and the fact that 32MB was...

Pretty Pathetic Running Companion

by viran , Jul 27 '00
Pros: Funky looking
Cons: Cheap quality, bad buttons, unreliable
I got this player (the 2000 model with 32mb) for a song (about $25) and let me tell you -- it's barely worth that much.

I bought it mainly because I'm an avid runner and sometimes my MD player skips when I go trail running. I thought this...

No more walkmans or discmans.

by mattyork28 , Mar 26 '00
Pros: Lightweight, Expandable, easy to use
Cons: Older computers might need to be reconfigured to recognize hookup
For those of you who don't know what MP3s are, or have do know but have not started to download them onto your computer, what are you waiting for? I recently got the raveMP, created by Sensory Science, as a gift. I now feel more positive then ever...

Something to Rave About

by banker74 , Jan 15 '00
Pros: Sound, Price, Features, Intuitive Interface, Great "earbuds"
Cons: Small Buttons, No FM tuner
I must preface this review by saying that this is the first MP3 player I've owned. That being said, I still think from everything I've read and heard that this is one of the best ones out there. I bought the product through the emusic.com promotion...

raveMP Delivers

by cowtipper , Mar 11 '00
Pros: small, decent sound quality, TONS of extras, easy to use
Cons: cheaply made, buttons are awfully small
I needed something to blow my Christmas money on, so I decided on an mp3 player. I walked into a store, and the guy recommended the Sensory Science raveMP player. I got home, and eagerly tore the plastic off the box, and I immediately felt like...

RaveMP: Something to rave about

by RedLineX , Feb 03 '00
Pros: Voice organization, text memo and phone numbers WOW, 64 MB of memory, crystal clear sound
Cons: No USB support, small display
The RaveMP3 is one of the best players out there. For the price of $250 you’re getting an MP3 player and a digital organizer. The RaveMP3 is the ONLY MP3 player that has all of the features of a PDA like phone number access, text memos and a voice...

Good, Bad, and Ugly

by typrin , Nov 05 '99
Pros: Portability
Cons: Software
I've owned my RaveMP for a few months now and so far so good:

Good Features:
1) The product offers a Line-In and a Line-out Jack in addition to a headphone jack. This is great because you can play the RaveMP through your car/home stereo,...

One Word: Sweet (Update)

by Neoslash , Apr 26 '00
Pros: 64MB, Good design, the price is right, good software, and an all around high quality item
Cons: The Flash cards cost $100 too much after spending $210 for the player.
I am writing this part after owning the raveMP for alittle over 2 months:

I have had NO problems with the player or the software. I never thought I would use the text/phone-number option but I do and found it is perfect for day to day jobs...

Incredibly Durable Product

by cldude , Jul 14 '00
Pros: Easy to use, has plenty of options, intuitive
Cons: not much storage space
The RaveMP player is one of the best electronic gadgets I have ever bought due to it's incredible durability. I have only had it for around eight months, but in that time I have done stuff to it that I wouldn't dare to do to my MiniDisc player or CD...

The Future of Portable Music?? YES!

by cdr-jack , Mar 08 '00
Pros: small, lightweight, durable, easy-to-use
Cons: MP3 transfer time could still be a little faster
I bought my raveMP mp3 player in February of this year after considering many different options in portable sound. I have owned a portable CD player for many years now and found myself looking for an alternative way to listen to music on my morning...
