Pros: Great sound, low cost, long battery life, retro looks. Cons: Slightly noisy, annoying remote.
The MZ-R70 is a good, high quality MD Player/Recorder with lots of features. Its high sound quality, long battery life and supplied accessories (Optical cable, carrying pouch) make it worth every penny (cent if you like). It is incredibly small, being...

Pros: Very Compact and great life for 1 battery. Awesome sound quality! Cons: A little loud when scrolling but goes away after a while.
I've had my SonyMZR70 for about 6 months now and I absolutely love it. It is the easiest thing to record on and using it is easy. This is a great product for people who are just beginning their MiniDisc experience (like I was) or people who are looking...

Pros: Small size. no skip. long battery life. Extended play is nice. remote. Cons: Takes too long to record.
I originally fell in love with this mini disc player because I could fit most all of my CD's onto a small stack of this tiny medium.
The remote is a real nice especially when working out or anytime you don't want to drag it out of your pocket. The...

Pros: SOUND QUALITY, size, ease of use, display, features, "lock" buttons Cons: Not a backlight LCD, cheap headphones
This thing is soooo sweet. I didnt think that the sound quality was going to be this good. Its just like a CD, but much better. The MD player is small, and can deleate or edit tracks where ever you are. Its like a CD-RW, but portable and for MD's.

Pros: Light, small, easy, and long battery. Cons: Skips sometimes.
This minidisk player is very easy to use. One thing I love about this system is that you can record audio from different sources, such as CD, Tape, Computer, or records. A good feature is that there are two headphone jacks for dual listeners or a line...

Pros: Size, weight Cons: Frequent playback glitches, cheap plastic case and controls
The MZ-R700 could be a fantastic device, however mine has frequent glitches during playback which is inexcusable at this price and coming from Sony. I'm taking it back and trying another one, hopefully the next one won't have the problems of the first....

Pros: Very good device to convert MP3 files to traditional format music Cons: Process is slow and very small buttons on the device
Very well designed device to convert MP3 files into traditional format music, if you are planning to get one, get the one with the PC Bundle and let's start making a great collection of your favorite hits in digital MiniDiscs.

This was my firstMD player/recorder, and I was definitely not disappointed. It out performed my CD player in all respects, and it was quite a durable little device. The two line-out mini-jack plugs was great for using in the car, so I could hold the remote while steering, and not have it get in the way. I highly recommend this unit to anyone especially those new to MD!

Got a great deal so I decided to jump into the Mini-portable digital sound device world. I can't believe the sound quality (headset makes a big difference) and the amount of music you can get on a single MD. Price and availability of blank MD's is great. I should have a DVD/CD player soon with a fiber optic digital out, but I can't imagine it being much better than just RCA outs. A sound investment and no worry about format compatibility.

I got this minidisc player...
by henry_of_pcb_dt3000 ,Oct 22 '02
I got this minidisc player a year ago. I thought it was great at the time and it was top of the line but now it is outdated slow and old. If you really want a md player/recorder but you are short on cash then this would be the one for you. But if you arent short on cash and you have the money then buy the MZ-N707 for 230. 00 and i dont think you will dissapointed. The major difference between them is the fact that the MZ-N707 has a USB 2.0 port, this one does`nt it runs off the optical cable and that isnt that good because if you get it dirty or you lose it then you are out of luck.
