Pros: A lot of bang for very few bucks Cons: Warranty a little lacking

Compact, Could Be More Sensitive
by lentulus ,Jan 28 '07
Pros: Convenient compact size, ease of mounting with Velcro. Consistent performer, relatively few falses. Cons: KA-band ("Stalker band") sensitivity, audio alert loudness.
I've had the very similar Model ESD-6100 for two or three years, which I picked up secondhand but in very good working condition for my small collection of RWR's.
I've found the detector to be a fairly stable performer with relatively few falses compared to e.g. BELtronics products. KA-band sensitivity seems somewhat lacking, however, by comparison with Uniden and BEL products in the same overall performance class. The audible alerts could be louder. Both the audio and sensitivity issues arise no doubt from the use of a tiny stripline antenna and small speaker.
I have not observed the Safety Warning System in use in my area. I have not used the voice option, preferring traditional audio alerts. I have not encountered laser devices while using this radar/laser detector.
This detector would be serviceable for a driver of moderate driving habits who owns a relatively quiet car, such as a Buick or Cadillac.
