Pros: Great signal and sound, awesome to have handsets off of a single base station. Cons: expensive, menu system needs work.
Hi, my name is Marty and I am a horrible phone talker - part ADD, part lack of patience. So being tied to a corded phone is a nightmare, because I can't even wander - even worse when the phone is in the kitchen. We had one Panasonic ...
Pros: VERY obvious message waiting light, looks cool, talking caller ID, extensions need no phone line. Cons: Range poor, separate phone books for every extension, antenna likely will not survive first drop.
I like phones. Let me say that again... I REALLY like phones. I can't explain it, but I like to have the coolest, most feature laden, and latest phones in our house. So, when interference from the six or so previously coolest 900 MHz phones we had...
Pros: Talking Caller ID, Expandable, Nice blue color message indicator, looks good Cons: POOR distance on phone,Microphone in phone and headset are not sensitive. Speakerphone is useless
Bought the 5.8 for the improved range and clarity, but was shocked to find the complete opposite. The phone's range is 3 or 4 times LESS than 2.4 phones. The phone drops your call when you get close to the range limit. The microphone on the phone is...
Pros: Great sounding, Talking Caller ID, Multi-handsets, Wall Mountable. Cons: Only 1. Need to post on phone to write down base ID before installing.
Phone is VERY clear sounding. much better than any 2.5GHz phone (which by the way all I have ever seen were crappy). The ringers available are not spectacular, but are adequate. The handset feels like you are holding a sturdy piece of electronics, ...
Pros: Speakerphone capability in the handset Cons: Some buttons are small and may require glasses to read the function names.
We bought this phone specifically because we have Telephone service answering, but we did want a speaker phone. Having a speakerphone capability in the handset as well as the base is very convenient. Good quality. We have had this phone now for several years and no complaints. Looking at the newer models I can see some improvements with cell phone like buttons (green on and red off) etc. But once you are used to this phone it works great.
Pros: Terrific sound quality and "party call" major advantages. Many other great features. Cons: Needs to allow expansion beyond 6 handsets and message retrieval from handsets.
This was a replacement for a Uniden system that had some really good features (such as message retrieval from a remote handset) but the quality of the 5830 is excellent. And moving to 5.8 GHZ was a must to avoid interferrence with our wireless LAN. It provides outstanding quality and useability.
