You Get What You Pay For

by a2dox , Jan 23 '05
Pros: Cheap (relatively speaking); you can have up to four phones on one phone line.
Cons: Sound quality is not always the best and LCD display stops working after awhile.
Living in a 3-story house, I really liked the idea of having an expandable cordless phone so we could have phones on each floor and I could page family members when I wanted them (rather than having to yell up the stairs). Expandable phone systems are, ...

Olympia OL 2400

by kittycuz , Jul 28 '03
Pros: Internal intercom, stores 50 numbers, easily programmed, lightweight, sleek looking, headset jack, belt clip.
Cons: Confusing instruction manual (pictures were excessive), mediocre sound, extension chargers don't initially program well.
Using this product with additional extension sets, is somewhat like having a mini cell tower in your ...

Don't WAST MONEY
by wexler2 ,Jan 06 '05
Pros: multiple handsets
Cons: poor reception, LCD doesn't last
This phone "looks" great but it doesn't work well, poor range and LCD is almost gone and I have owned it less than one year. I Have two extra handsets, so hoped it would be a great buy, I wouldn't pay 10 dollars for a new one!

Poor Quality SCREENS
by rjk99 ,Dec 14 '04
Pros: cheap, work OK
Cons: poor quality screen
Wife thought it was a bargain thru QVC. All worked OK
installation somewhat confusing. The SCREENS just start
fading away after 9-10 months. NOT worth the effort - DON'T
make the same mistake....stay away from these phones.

Don't Bother
by spleuchan ,Jan 24 '04
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Very bad sound quality
I bought this phone, and I returned it in a day. When shopping for a cordless phone, I thought this phone was too good to be true. I bought this phone and an extra headset for 50 dollars. The phone's sound quality is very bad. When talking on the phone, I constantly heard my own voice echoing. This was very annoying.

Echoes
by qzock ,Dec 24 '04
Pros: Kids love the color.
Cons: Dishonest manufacturer. Echoes.
Bought two Olympia phones. Both ended up as awful deals.
They won't honor their rebate offers either.
Using the phone is like setting the echoplex on high.
It is very annoying to listen to yourself talk.
Kids think it is great (due to various colors available).

Olympia OL2400 Cordless Phone
by liquidice021 ,Apr 15 '04
Pros: Small size, lightweight, change colors, 50-name phone book, Caller ID.
Cons: Caller ID sometimes doesn't work.
I bought this phone as a replacement for a junk phone I originally had for my room. So far, I've been happy with it.

The phone is lightweight and I can use it all over the house without getting any static. It charges well, and I've never run out of battery on my lengthy phone conversations. I get good sound quality and I've never had bad complaints from the other end of the line.

Now that I've had the phone for about 6 months, the Caller ID doesn't show up all the time. It isn't that big of a problem, though.

I think this phone was a pretty good buy for $40. I would recommend it if you want a relatively basic cordless phone for a low cost.

Awful Phone
by amberhaven2001 ,Nov 18 '04
Pros: Small and lightweight.
Cons: THe LCD screen doesn't last more than a few months. Not worth the money.
I purchased this phone in December of 2003 based upon a few online reviews that I read and the associate's recommendation. When I got the phone to my home I immediately noticed that I heard a constant echo of everything that I said.

In March of 2004, after 3 months, I had to send the phone back to the manufacturer because the LCD screen was unreadable. I had the same echo problems with the replacement that the company sent me.

And now in November of 2004 the LCD screen on this phone is going dead as well.

It's not worth the money or the trouble, save your money.

do not buy this phone
by caus4concern ,Jan 31 '04
Pros: bought it cheap
Cons: 3 (three!) different problems that it has ... that weren't fixed after returning for repair.
Phone seemed to work fine at first. After a while, I noticed the following problems:
1)When talking on the phone, the person on the other end will hear a beep, like I accidentally pressed a button on the phone. This occurs quite frequently. During most conversations this occurs at least once, if not more.
2)Intermittent echo. During a conversation I hear an echo of myself. Extremely annoying.
3)Once in a while when someone calls the phone will ring continuously! A normal phone rings, there's silence, and then it rings again, until you pick up. This phone will sometimes ring continuously. That is, there's no silence between rings. Bonus: the constant ring tone continues for a short while after you pick up the call!

So I call the manufacturer, and send the phone back to be fixed. It's gets sent back and the beeping problem occurred the first time I used the phone. I haven't bothered using the phone enough to know if the other problems still occur.

I would only recommend buying this phone if you're going to give it as a gift to somebody you hate.

Olympia OL2400
by jm2moorehead ,Apr 08 '04
Pros: Looks nice, fair price
Cons: Not worth the trouble, poor quality phone, multiple problems
I was lazy enough to hang onto this phone for almost a year. As I have only had this phone for about 8 months, I noticed problems within the first 4-5. Not only does the person on the other line hear beeping as if you are pressing buttons but I can no longer read the Caller ID when a call comes in. The phone acts as if it's already 5 years old! The only thing the company does to help is (of course) is to either repair the phone or send you a replacement of the same model. Save yourself the trouble & go with a different brand!
