Pros: Very good image quality for the money (we received a $100 rebate) Cons: Short battery life, most user settings are not saved when the camera is turned off
The RCA CDS4100 is by no means an also-ran in the field of digital photography. We just returned from a 3-week vacation during which I took over 250 photos (mostly lo-res 640x480), which were either satisfactory as-is, or could be "cleaned up" in an...
Pros: easy to use, awesome pictures, reasonably priced Cons: none
I LOVE this camera. This is our first digital camera and it is soooo easy to use. The instruction book isn't as thick as the dictionary like the one that came with our camcorder.
It has simple buttons on the top and a nice clear LCD screen on back...
When I bought this camera about a year ago and I took my first few digital pictures with it, I thought I had bought a great camera but time told me I was wrong. The first shortcoming I had with it were the broken latches that fastened the cover for the...
Pros: This is a great camera Cons: Its a bit costly
I have been waiting for a camera that was easy to use but still had all the new features and technology added on to it. Then I found the RCA CDS4100. This camera has it all, some of the features that it has are -
Pros: It takes about 20 quality pictures Cons: Wow what a rip off
While this camera does many of the things one would expect from a digital camera it leaves much to be desired. The included 8MB memory card holds less than twenty quality pictures, around forty at the reasonably clear setting, and sixty or so very poor...
Pros: Easy to use, nice software package.Takes great pics. Cons: Eats batteries if you use LCD display.
I have owned this camera for over 1yr. at this time and have taken thousands of photos with it. I am a very satisfied customer as you will see below. I would recommend this to anyone that loves to take both snapshots of the family or even more involved...
I Bought This Camera because I wanted A camera that was easy to use and Not priced Too High. It was all that and more! I love the Accessories that are included such as the 8MB flash card (MOST CAMERAS PRICED IN THIS RANGE INCLUDE A 4MB CARD) the only...
Pros: Easy to Use - Many Functions Cons: power cord comes loose sometimes
I purchased this camera for its ability and ease of use. I quickly had the cam up and running. It is very easy to use and I would recommend it to anyone looking for something not difficult to operate and yet give many
useful functions. All features...
Pros: easy to use, brand name we all know, best for price Cons: I have yet to find and cons
I've never used a digital camera until I bought the RCA digital CDS4100. It is so easy to use and has 1.5 megapixel resolution. The auto focus feature makes for clear simple picture taking. The 2" LCD review screen is ample for previewing...
Pros: I love mine, want to sell yours? Cons: Hard to find memory card that work with them.
I brought the first one of two of these camera back in 2000 when they first came out and I was running x98 on my puter. The price then was around 500 dollars but that was from Radio Shack so I probably could have gotten a better deal elsewhere. The second I bought off of E-bay about 2 months ago for 20 dollars. I love these camera's. You can change the quailty setting to get about 12 high quailty pic's or 80 low quailty.
YOU CAN USE THIS CAMERA ON WINDOW XP. YOU MUST HAVE A FLASH READER TO DO SO. Go to Best Buy for about 10 bucks and buy a flash card reader. Plugs into USB port, pop in card and XP takes over and there ya have it. Pic are down loaded faster than they did with the orginial drivers.
Thompson Electronic dropped the ball with these camera when XP came out and didn't update the drivers and just lied to us saying they would !
And the answer to the battery trouble I've found is buy good recharge battiers. I've been able to take about100 plus pic before recharging. High quaility at that.
Poor design limits function by dawggy01 ,Dec 22 '04
Pros: good quality photos Cons: many design flaws, goes through too many batteries!
I purchased this camera because I expected that as an RCA brand, it would be long lasting and durable. The relatively short time I used it, it was a very nice camera.. however after I owned this camera for about a year the slide/switch that goes between playing and recording broke, making it impossible to take pictures. Also, the time between pressing the button to take a picture and the camera actually recording the picture is very slow, resulting in many missed shots for moving images.
Pros: Very easy to use....buttons are all top on camera...nice weight. Cons: Too difficult to get pics from camera to PC.
Won this from Ebay for $17.63. The pics come up on the LCD just fine but the memory card that came with it, doesn't work in my card reader.(I/O device error) Ok, so I buy another compact flash card. This time, camera won't recognize the new card which is 32mb (camera is capable of taking up to a 48mb card). So I put the new flash card in another camera and my card reader, reads it just fine. So here I sit with an almost new digital camera and 2 flash cards. One works in the camera but the other doesn't and one works in my card reader but the other does not. I'm running XP and knew that I couldn't download straight from the camera, hence the card reader. Soooo disappointing as the pics look great in the LCD screen
Good if you have Windows ME or earlier by lafountain ,Oct 25 '03
Pros: Quality pictures.
Many features. Cons: Incompatible with Windows XP
No optical zoom.
I bought this camera because it was on sale and heard a few good things about it. I bought it in late 2001 and XP had already become quite abundant in the computer world. When I got home I was very disappointed to find out that the drivers would not work with Windows XP. I emailed RCA and even called them (not a 1-800 number) they informed me that the drivers would be released shortly. They still have not been released to this day. I have permanently boycotted RCA and have sold all of my RCA products. I sold it to a friend who has Windows 98 and it has worked fine for him. One other problem with it is that it absolutely eats batteries alive if you use the LCD screen, but many cameras are the same way. The other problem with it is that it only has a digital zoom function and no optical. If you use a memory card reader it doesn't capture the zoom as the driver is used to digitize the image. If you are looking for a digital camera I highly suggest that you look elsewhere.
