Pros: Price/performance ratio, strong rechargeable battery, optional lenses/filters Cons: Memory stick less convenient than floppys, and has limited storage
I needed a camera pronto. I've been captivated by the ease of use and creative possibilities of digital cameras from the beginning, so that decision was an easy one. I drove all over town comparison shopping and settled on this Sony model. The reasons...

Pros: Moveable display Cons: I wish it was thinner.
I bought this camera primarily for business use, but now find myself using it for pleasure.
The original premise was a simple one. My customers would send me out to evaluate a machine, and of course they would want photos along with my report. The...

Pros: The New Millenium in Photography is here! Cons: You MUST buy more than the camera itself.
I'm the first to admit that he high price was somewhat of a road block to purchase but, I'm glad I found my way around it.
This is a nifty little camera well worth the price.. The pictures are clear and true to color.. The camera has various options...

Pros: Picture Quality, Ease of Use Cons: LCD visibility in bright sunshine
After extensive research and deciding how much I wanted to spend, I bought this camera. Ok, admittedly I picked Sony because I had just bought a Sony VAIO computer and received a $100 rebate, plus the 16MB memory stick came with a $50 rebate. But...

Pros: Great image size options, good quality pictures and excellent battery life. Cons: not the very highest in image resolution.
A good camera, but your gonna spend much more money getting enough memory sticks to take a lot of photos. I spent another $200 getting more memory sticks and a good case for mine. It's a shame that all this did not come with it.
Ease of use...

As my first digital camera,...
by matt_dt3001 ,Jun 16 '02
As my first digital camera, it is great! Not top of the line but it has everything I need; nothing I don't. Great clarity, landscapes and indoors. The original battery is rechargeable using an in-camera recharger and cord. Other brands make you buy a rechargeable battery - unacceptable. The rotating LCD is nice for fun pictures so you can view the picture as you take it (ie. at concerts or of yourself with friends). Megapixels above 1.3 are now available. Minor drawbacks: 1)LCD is hard to see in bright light. 2)Like most cameras, you'll want to buy a bigger memory stick. Overall, I recommend this camera to anyone - especially beginners.

by sammy_dt3005 ,Apr 22 '02
I have taken a couple thousand pictures with this model and love the overall results. It is small enough to fit in my pocket, lasts all day typically on a battery, great simple point and shoot digital with good picture quality in doors and outside. The telephoto capability is great for most all general applications, I have used it on travel for landscapes, at weddings, for baby photos, close up of automobile details and general everyday photos. I upgraded with a 64MB and a 128MB memory sticks and a second battery, which never lets me run out of power or capacity. This combination provides a couple days of good continuous travel tour shooting without a down load to the laptop. I have recommended this model to several persons and everyone that sees my photos are impressed. The only drawback that I see is it is difficult to see the viewfinder in bright sunlight and dark evening or in door places at night.
