A great package for a reasonable price!

by skapa , Sep 16 '02
Pros: quality video & audio, lots of options, DV quality, size of camera
Cons: price can be steep, you just have to search for a good one
As I read through others reviews of Sony's Vx-2000 camera I couldn't help but think that most of them had probably never touched this particularly camera before. I am currently working for a film production studio in MI, and all we have for our mini-DV...

by wutang2364 , Feb 15 '01
Pros: Sharpest picture in it's class, Great Lowlight, Relatively inexpensive

Well, OK, Sony's newest and bestest "pro-sumer" Mini-DV camcorder is out, the VX-2000 (along with the similar PD150, which has a B&W finder instead of the color one on the VX-2000, XLR audio inputs instead of mini-jacks, an accessory mono shotgun mic...

Pros: Great CCD's, Sharp clear image, lightweight
Cons: No removable lenses
Sony is top of the game when it comes to consumer camcorders, but how about pro-sumer? Well the DCR-VX2000 shows exactly what Sony's got. This is the best of the best of Sony's DCR series. The big question that comes up with the Sony VX2000 is...

BUY THIS IF YOU WANT PROFESSIONAL QUALITY

by Beawriter , Apr 03 '01
Pros: Professional quality video, LCD monitor
Cons: Expensive for the home video tape enthusiasts, good for the professional.
I have been a cable TV producer for three years. During that time I have used a hand held cam corder as well as the more professional model cam corders that use full size S tape. Nothing comes close to the quality of Digital.

The S VHS tape...

Serious Competition to the Canon GL1

by rootk , Nov 02 '00
Pros: Low light ability, good picture quality, good sound quality
Cons: Too many features for the average user to care about
Background
This is the latest contender in the world of prosumer camcorders. It has some significant advantages over it's archrival - the Canon GL1. Most notable is it's performance in low light situations. This can be attributed to it's...

You will not put it down

by dirtbikekid , May 07 '01
Pros: Very Easy
Cons: NONE
The handheld camcorders are good for on the road shots, but the quality isn't there and once a dub is made, the quality decreases even more. So in order to have a quality production it was necessary to invest in a high end model recorder. The digital...

Pros: Low light shooting is perfect, ergonomically correct, crisp clean sound, long lasting battery life.
