So close, yet so far

by rcr2 , Mar 08 '01
Pros: Kid-safe and friendly features
Cons: otherwise featureless
When I first saw this in 6th Avenue, for only $76, I was thrilled. The 10 year old VCR I had been using with the 20 year old TV for my kid's room had begun eating their tapes.

And a day without Thomas' Tunes is a day in hell.

So I...

Consider ONLY for the Kids

by jcvalenti , Mar 05 '01
Pros: Great features for kids - and kids only
Cons: Lack of basic features for adults
When my 12 month old son finally mastered the many physical skills necessary to crawl, stand up and manipulate objects around him, I was very proud.

When he quickly developed an obsession with pushing the buttons on my VCR and opening the...

Perfect lock-out for sticky fingers

by cnzmom , Feb 23 '01
Pros: Kids can't put things inside it
Cons: The bright buttons actually attract kids
All kids have a fascination with putting things inside other things, and my 2 year old son did just that with our old VCR. This model will absolutely prevent this as long as you remember to slide the lock into place. For the sole reason that it prevents...

Finally!!!

by KElliottRocks , Jan 07 '01
Pros: Easy to use, locking front opening, many child friendly features
Cons: Picture and Sound not the "Best"
Wow! What a WONDERFUL product! We have been looking for a child friendly VCR for my two and a half year old for a few months, and Santa came thru! The MovieTime VCR by Sony is a Godsend!

This VCR is simple to use, without a complicated...

A Mommy's Dream!!!

by brashy , Jan 05 '01
Pros: Child-proof lock, brightly colored buttons, view timer, and price
Cons: none
As you can tell I am so excited about this VCR!!! "Santa" brought this VCR to my 5 year old daughter for Christmas and she loves it as much as I do!
If you are into "high tech" toys this one is not it but for being kid friendly...

Family Friendly!

by Autumnroze , Jan 04 '01
Pros: Kid proof and cute
Cons: less than stylish appearance
When our old and somewhat decrepit VCR needed replacing, I went to the electronics store intending to buy a conventional VCR for our regular household use.
Once I laid eyes on this model, I was sold! The feature set is ideal for a family with...

She cannot "Feed" this VCR

by althaea , Dec 18 '00
Pros: Everything. Child safe, great features
Cons: Need to have RCA plugs in TV
For me, this is a dream come true. My daughter loves to push buttons (and not just because she is two and "testing" every boundary). She likes to climb as well, which means that she can make her way to the top of the television to get to the...

A kid's dream VCR

by ccn158 , Dec 17 '00
Pros: easy to use, attractive
Cons: low on features
Full marks to Sony for attempting to break into the lower reaches of the VCR market. Although renowned for it's high-end products, it's taken the plunge and released the KS-1 at around $140, putting it into the price range of parents who need a second...

not a VCR
by JERJORJU ,Aug 30 '05
Pros: Cute animated dog moves when tape is rewinding or fast forwarding.
Cons: This does not have recording capability nor can you watch TV through it.
I bought this for my son years ago. This is a Video Cassette Player. It does not have recording capability.
