I bought my DCR-TRV10 about 6 months back and I was really thrilled to use it in the beginning. Although it's a good camcorder but it fell short of my expectations. I'll tell you what I like and dislike about this camcorder.

*********DISCLAIMER*********
THIS REVIEW IS NOT FOR THE DCR-TRV10, BUT RATHER THE PC-100

Pros: Lightweight, excellent video quality, great feature set Cons: Expensive; still images poor quality
Sony's DCR TRV10 is the latest in its line of digital video recorders and has been touted as a complete solution for both video and still pictures. While it certainly lives up to the first half of the promise, the second half is a bit of a stretch. ...

Three Years of Great Use, Then Hasta La Vista...
by ulsterscot ,Dec 28 '05
Pros: Easy to use, great manual, great zoom, fine video quality, easy to dupe. Cons: The unit may not last beyond 3 years.
My first camcorder, purchased in May 2002 for $299 at Best Buy. Worked great first time out of the box, clear sharp image, manual easy to use and understand, images easily duped on to my VCR for keeping. Windy days outdoors meant lots of noise on the audio (so don't go out on windy days-sduh!) The battery it came with had a short life, but the 90minute battery purchased a year later has done yeoman service and holds well over 2 hours with a charge. The heartreaker is that in Fall 2005 I started seeking streaks in the images during playback, which the manual attrbitues to dirty heads, but cleaning them (with a cassette and by techician) did not help, so the choice dame down to: spend more to fix this than you pay for a new one. Three good years of trouble-free service, then away it goes to the great beyond.

We have used this sony camcorder for so many activities and projects in our Local church activities and it has been Huge. Technology at it's best. We also used other brand camcorders but after using the sony its no comparison. I would for sure recommend buying a sony camcorder, especially to all my family and friends which I already have.
