Elph Jr. - The Little Camera That Could

by sweeper sweeper is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Electronics, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Mar 15 '00
Pros: Awesomely Tiny and Lightweight
Cons: Awfully Tiny and Lightweight
Why does a guy whose hobby makes him love big, heavy 35mm cameras sitting atop monster tripods buy one of the smallest cameras ever produced? It's because of his other hobby.

As a travel and outdoor photographer of long standing, I've come to...

This Little Thing is a Camera?

by Mommy3S , Jan 19 '01
Pros: Takes terrific pictures and is lightweight.
Cons: Film is expensive.
Canon has made a wonderful camera that is far superior to any that I have previously owned. The Elph Jr. has many features offered by much larger cameras yet it is small enough to stuff into a pocket. It's ease of use and light weight, along with it's...

I FOUND IT!!

by cinderella730 , Jan 08 '00
Pros: small, great pictures, easy to use
Cons: none
I have a peculiar story about the Elph Jr. I purchased my camera in NC, at a Flea Market. It was one of those "junk" tables you see here and there....I picked up this little metal rectangle and couldn't believe it was a camera!! I asked about...

Love the Size!

by mikolainis , Oct 25 '00
Pros: Great small size, good features
Cons: Hard to hold steady
As my husband and I are not avid picture-takers, we are not in the habit of bringing a camera with us to events and occasions that we would actually like to record photo memories of. OK - we're lazy, and I hate to have to keep track of a camera along...

Tiny Size + Decent Quality = :-)

by EthanU , Oct 11 '00
Pros: Small size, fast lens
Cons: Not-so-great autofocus, no infinity mode
Although I had never before owned a Canon, I knew of their reputation as one of the top manufacturers of photo equipment. I’ve been intrigued by the APS cameras since their inception a few years ago, and I bought a Fujifilm brand APS camera that was so...

It may be small but it packs a punch!

by kathymcd , Dec 04 '00
Pros: Size, Weight, Easy to Use
Cons: None!
Don't let the size of the Canon Elph Jr. camera fool you, it produces top quality photos.

My favorite feature, it's size! This camera measures only 5" x 4" and is very lightweight. It fits perfectly in your shirt pocket. I was...

by botsybaby , Dec 12 '99
Pros: The Features On The Camera And The Quality Pictures
Cons: None, Though I Haven't Managed To Drop The Camera Yet
You want to talk about satisfaction??!!! You don't want to be like the song the the Rolling Stones sang, do yah? Here, I'm going to give it to you straight up. I think I'm in love with my new camera and with good reason. I had gone without a camera for...

WARNING: This camera will self destruct in 5 seconds...

by argonut , Jun 30 '00
Pros: tiny size, APS capable, date and time stamping, auto rewind, auto focus, point and shoot, easy to use, sleek look and feel
Cons: can't remove film halfway through roll (some APS cameras allow that)
Wouldn’t it be cool to be a spy? Get your hands on a couple fancy gadgets to let you see around corners and stand on the ceilings and hear conversations occurring a mile away and you’re in business. Sneak into restricted areas and take snapshots of top...

Canon's handy, packable ELPH JR....a great everyday camera

by mattgordon Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Oct 09 '00
Pros: Size, picture quality, extremely easy to use
Cons: essentially only a "snapshot" camera...no high powered zoom lenses etc.
My wife, a non-shutterbug, wanted a small, easy to use camera to capture those spontaneous moments with the kids, pets, and yes even occasionally the old ball and chain...ME!

I recommended the APS format, with 3 different picture sizes, as...

~~The coolest compact-sized APS camera around~~

by monkii , Apr 09 '01
Pros: Small, really small, durable construction, lens cover, 5 flash modes, extremely easy to use
Cons: Films and processing more expensive than 35mm, traditional photo album couldn't hold the extra formats
First, I have to say that it's the coolest thing to carry the camera around. Whenever I asked someone to take a picture for me, the first thing they all commented on the camera is the compactness.

Beside compactness, the camera is so simple...

Cons: Not the best quality prints, but ok
Please take into account when reading this review that I am just an average person not a photography professional or anything.

The little camera that could ...

by richardchiu , Jan 31 '01
Pros: Price, size, sturdy casing
Cons: Poor picture quality, lacks features
I purchased an Elph Jr. about a year ago and since then, I have purchased two other APS cameras (see my reviews on the Canon Elph and Nikon Nuvis V). The main reason for my purchase was that the APS format was the 'in' thing and I couldn't pass up on the...

An affordable APS that fits in the palm of your hand!

by rwetsel , Dec 22 '00
Pros: Affordable, small and light-weight, APS film (drop in loading), auto-flash, extremely durable
Cons: Not sure there are any, a perfect camera
I purchased my Elph Jr. almost 2 years ago, and I have to admit it being the best camera I've ever owned. As a matter of fact, if it weren't for digital camera's, I may never buy another (I hear they have a wonderful new digital Elph!).

ELPH Jr.

by kjrumz , Jan 13 '00
Pros: small, convenient
Cons: APS not worth it
The Elph Jr. is, as the name suggests, a small version of Canon's ELPH cameras. The most notable feature of this camera is, in fact, its small size. It allows the camera to be taken along nearly anywhere and is very convenient for women who sometimes...

Big Things in Small Packages

by happy101 , Jan 20 '00
Pros: Small size and great pictures
Cons: no zoom
I own the Elph Jr. Cannon Lens 26mm 1:2.8

I have had this camera for over a year and it has been wonderful. All my pictures have come out clear and concise no matter what kind of lighting or backdrop. This camera offers many features:
