A Good introduction to Digital Photography

by Deb_S , Jan 23 '00
Pros: Light, easy to use and excellent technical help.
Cons: Goes through batteries like nothing I have ever seen and the software could be a bit more user friendly.
I really liked my scanner. It allowed me to send memories to old friends and it was quick and easy. If I wanted to send a recent photo I would just have them developed and pop them in the scanner.
So why did I ask for and receive a Polaroid PDC...

Pros: ease of use
Cons: battery usage
First, I would like to tell the readers about the 8mb SmartMedia card. I wanted more than the 2mb card and went looking. I found all the cards and purchased the 32mb card. Of course it did not format, so I took it back and got the 16mb card. I again...

I own it, use it, love it!
by xatheist ,Dec 24 '05
Pros: Quality, ease and cost
Cons: compatibility
My only problem with it was finding a compatible link for my computer. When I found the Stratitec Hi-Speed USB slot XD SM port, problem solved and now use it for everything.

I love this camera
by opchavez ,Mar 16 '06
Pros: the camera is easy to use
Cons: the camera is just a little heavy
I bout this camera about 4 yrs ago. And after 4 yrs of falling and banging it is just starting to give me a little problem. I am looking for another just like it because I personally think it is a great camera. It is direction friendly and very easy to use once installed.
Great camera.

Battery Compartment Cover Failure
by carpedlar ,Dec 31 '05
Pros: Simple to use
Cons: Poor mechanical design
Bad design, camera cannot withstand normal use. I have bought two of these cameras, and both have succumbed to the same problem: cover hinges break and no replacement covers available

WORST CAMERA EVER!
by gringopansone ,Mar 15 '04
Pros: software
Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE
I don't know how this camera got such a high rating but
BE WARNED
THIS IS THE WORST CAMERA EVER!
I bought one and had another given to me, both are in the garbage. I thought I just bought a lemon but the second one was just as horrible.
UGLY PICTURES. This camera took really bad pictures even on its highest setting. The one good thing about it was its software: PHOTOMAX it makes picture manipulation incredibly easy. You can get PHOTOMAX seperately for $5.00 and it is worth every penny.
The size was large compared to most.
It was a battery killer. The thing just ate batteries 4 AA's at a time.
Takes forever to take a shot. If it decided that light conditions were o.k. then it would work.
To top it off both of them BROKE led screen on one and the other just decided not to power up one day.

Energy Drainer
by reaver_x ,Nov 23 '03
Pros: Nice screen size. Easy to operate.
Cons: VERY bad battery life. Low resolution pictures. Very bulky in size by today's standards.
While in the beggining it took pretty good pictures for a camera of it's price it had problems aplenty. For starters my biggest complaint.... battery life. For a camera that runs on 4 AA's it dies out in about 30-45 minutes!!! I swear I'm not lying.. even I was amazed and angered. And as for the picture quality... well compared to todays equally priced digital camera's they are pretty bad and lack detail plus the flash tends to become weak VERY quickly. Take my advise and check out Canon or Fuji camera's instead.

Camera not worth buying if you want good quality and now working camera
by mad2692000 ,Nov 19 '03
Pros: good only for a person who takes the odd pictures and not need quality
Cons: Clients be worned of quality of pictures, warming, battery cunsumbtion & purchase price.
Takes to long to warm up to use. Need for fast shot cannot depend on it!! Pictures cannot be taken in dim light only well lit areas. Contacts for battery you have to contantly pull up for good contact.
Sucks out batteries. Option to view is no option when your out and about. What's the point.
These factors should have been told when selling.
Take a picture for that funny or cute shot well tell them to hold for awhile takes long to warm up. Not worth near what I bought it for approx 100.00 dollers. They should have told me before buying it.

Excellent camera! Lasted 3 years!
by debmae ,Oct 19 '03
Pros: Great photos! Long battery Life!
Cons: No serious cons!
This was the first camera I used for Ebay sales, when they were still expensive and we didn't know what we were getting! This camera lasted for 3 years without any problems what-so-ever. The photos were clear and the batteries lasted (nihm) the longest time in this camera - they must have recharged in them. My new Sony does not have a long-battery life.
The sizing of the photos and for the most part, the colors, were all right on the mark so there was very little you had to do with the photos. The software that comes with this is very simple so I ended up using Photo Adobe. Only drawback is that the software did not apply to the newer Windows XP.
Also, the flash is very strong so with items that you had to take a close-up of, I would put a finger over part of the flash, so the photo would not be "flashed-out."

I originally purchased this camera...
by shutterbug_ninja_dt3000 ,Dec 07 '02
I originally purchased this camera to take some basic digital images for selling some items on E-Bay. But found this camera also handy to take some close ups of the kids on outings and Holidays. I love the fact that you can just connect the TV out to any TV that has RCA input jacks and view with the family. I use this camera to take preliminary shots of the children for Christmas pictures to see how they would turn out, then use my 35mm to take the actual photo to send as Christmas Cards. Initially a little difficulty installing software, since I have XP. You have to go to web site and obtain a download driver- to allow you to use with XP. Out side of that you should be able to use any imaging software and import camera images. Wish it had a brighter flash - since indoor shots tend to require much more light. Works well for outdoor sunny day shots.

by yorobo_dt3000 ,Mar 03 '03
I had this camera for about a year when it died on me. I sent it to Polaroid for repair which was under warranty still so I didn't have to pay for it. It still doesn't work properly since they "fixed" it. Since they are so inexpensive you may as well buy two of these cameras. One to use and one for a spare.

I have used this camera...
by jcfour_dt3000 ,Feb 28 '02
I have used this camera for over two years with very little trouble. It takes beautiful pictures in jpeg format and came with everything I needed except the optional floppy adapter. I have snapped over 1000 pictures with this camera and rate it very highly. My only disappointment is it will not format any card larger than an 8mb which are getting hard to find. Otherwise it is a great camera.

by peggy802_dt3000 ,Aug 17 '02
We have had this camera for over 3 years and can not believe how much we like it. We have bought 3 others just like it for our family and are looking for more to buy. Cost is low, options are great, and pictures are great. Vacation took over 300 pictures replaced batteries once/Printing a few at a time.
