Pros: Allows floppy disk usage Cons: Uses a floppy disk as media. Poor resolution. High price
In the beggining it seemed this might be a great camera. It had resolution and allowed you to store your pictures on a floppy disk. But then you look at the true details and find that this camera isn't all that.
My biggest beef with this...

Pros: Floppy storage, good lens Cons: Might feel "bulky" at first
The floppy disks make this an easy to use digital camera. The only downside I have found (and it is NOT a big one) is that the bulk of the camera makes it a bit awkward at first for those of us who are used to using small, point and shoot cameras....

Pros: Easy to use Cons: None that I have found
My husband and I bought this camera because we had a new baby boy. My husbands parents live 200 miles from us and we wanted to be able to take pictures of our son and email them. This camera was recommended to us by a friend. We like the fact that we...

Pros: great for close-up shots Cons: bad for anything not close-up
If you are fairly specific about why you want a digital camera, and your reasons match mine, then this is a great camera. If you want a camera that is versatile and dependable then spend more money on something else. Here's why i think that:

Pros: floppy disk image storage system; cost Cons: no zoom; power usage issues
Sony Mavica is a good digital camera with an easy to use interface. The biggest advantage of this camera is the method of storage for the digital images. All digital data is stored on floppy disks making the transfer of digital image data to the...

Pros: Easy, quick & fast turn around! Cons: It could be a better priced!
This is my second Sony Mavica digital camera. It has many improvements over the last generation, lighter, slimmer, quicker retake, easy disc slide-in, and effects options that make it fun and creative to use!
It is so simple, yet the finished...

Pros: light weight and uses a floppy disc Cons: only can save 5-7 photos per disc
As Editor in Chief of my college newspaper, I was tasked with the responsibility of purchasing a new digital camera.
Having a limited knowledge in the area of digital photography and cameras, I set out to bone up on my research. One of the...

Pros: Easy to use Cons: Should come with a carrying case
I did great in school last semester, so I bought myself a present, the Sony FD-73. What a great present! This camera takes excellent pictures. Saving the pictures to floppy is a great option, no need to plug the camera into the computer! The camera...

Pros: ease-of-use, stores images on floppies Cons: larger than some, use a square view-finder versus an eye-piece
I'll be the first to admit that I was leery of getting a digital camera. I love my 35mm camera and the feel and look of real photographs! On the other hand, I found myself more and more using my own scanner to scan photos and then e-mailing images; I'm...

Pros: Floppy disk Cons: Bad quality, slow
When digital cameras were first coming out, I was eager to purchase one. Upon doing so, I looked for features such as slim, inexpensive, use of floppy disks, quality photos. This only met one and a half of those requirements, use of floppy disks, and...

Pros: LCD Screen, lighting modes, battery life, 3.5" Floppy Drive Cons: Price, Pixel Resolution
This is a great camera barring the price about $450.00 - $499.00. The LCD screen located on the back on the camera is like a miniture television that allows you to see the picture in a viewer instead of a small hole with one eye closed. The thing that...

Pros: Wonderful close-ups Cons: Could do a little better on distance
I'm definitely an amateur in cameras. I bought this camera to use on the Internet auctions. I feel it takes very good close-up pictures and does a better job than my scanner. I save money on development and time on scanning. It was very easy to use...

Pros: zoom Cons: older
I have had experience with both the fd-83 and the fd-73. The fd-73 is the earlier of the two versions. The one thing that is great about the fd-73 is the zoom feature. It has 10 X optical ( not digital )zoom, which can come in very helpful. The fd-83...

Pros: Easy to use, durable, reliable. Cons: Not 35 mm quality, price.
Let's start with digital versus 35mm film cameras: Digital cameras will
not give the clarity and depth of color of a photographic image. Film
paper is something like 2500 dots per inch of color where 600 dots per
inch is the best you'll...
