Pros: Many Options, Manual or Automatic, Any Zoom fits, Convenient, Easy to Use, Awesome LOW PRICE!!! Cons: Expensive battery
A few months back I was taking a photography course and I had one problem. No Camera! I tried to see if I could borrow a camera from one of my class mates or someone in my family. They showed me all sorts of 35mm cameras, some new, some old. I couldnt...
Pros: Great beginner SLR camera, Auto and manual focus, lightweight, affordable, found at most stores Cons: doesn't come with batteries.
I've only owned this camera for a short time, but so far it's been great! This is a great learning camera! I have never used an SLR camera before this one, but I'm learning fast. The picture quality is great on the Minolta QTsi. I plan to take it to...
Pros: It has subject options for beginners. Cons: Can't attach manual focus lens to it, picture quality is worse than some cheaper cameras.
I thought I would be able to purchase a complete manual lens to attach to my camera, but come to find out, I can only attach an auto focus lens for this camera. I find that the manual focus does not blur out the background like it should. I also would like to know what the Megapixels are for this camera because the picture quality isn't as clear as a lot of the point and shoot digital cameras. I am very disappointed with this camera.
The only down side to auto focus cameras. by fatguyevan ,Sep 28 '03
Pros: Great point and shoot cameras. Cons: No adjustable apertures of shutter speeds.
After gradation from high school, I was given a Minolta Maxxum QTsi 35mm SLR Camera by my parents. I enjoyed this camera very much. Its ease of use and the simplicity of its design and operation attracted me to it. In the standard package it comes with a 35-80mm lens. This is a great lens for taking normal everyday pictures and capturing some wonderful scenic shots. The fact that the lenses are interchangeable was also very appealing to me because it allowed me to access a variety of ranges in my photographic experiences. With the purchase of this camera I also suggest the purchase of a 70-200mm zoom lens. The combination of these two lenses allows you to see everything that you would normally want to see and then a little beyond. Now the downside, when I went to college, I enrolled in an Intro to Photography class and found that my camera was not suitable for the class because it did not have adjustable apertures or shutter speeds. The lack of these features in Auto focus cameras means that you can only take a limited variety of shots and limits your ability to experiment with your camera.
Light, easy to load and use. Auto focus feature is great. May save a lot of wasted film as you do not press shutter release to activate auto focus. Have used for 3 years, indoors, and out and gotten nothing but great results. I replaced a Minolt SRT 101. I use the QTSI with up to 600mm lenses.Would definately recommend this camera to friends.
Do not buy this camera,... by shaun_dt3000 ,Dec 13 '02
Do not buy this camera, I bought it because it looked like a professional camera and because I thought Minolta was a good brand. I was wrong on both, learn from my mistake. The picture quality is poor to average at best. I thought maybe it was the developers fault so I tried another developer, same results. I can't tell the difference between the pictures taken with this camera and the cheapo I used before I got this one. You could spend a lot less to get the same picture quality. Minolta has poor customer service when you have a problem. Buy a Nikon or a Canon, I'm going to.
Awesome camera! Have never found... by shavonne_dt3000 ,Sep 10 '02
Awesome camera! Have never found one I like more. Its easy to use, with almost all the options. I recommend this camera to everyone I know thinking about trying the SLRs instead of the point-and-shoots. This camera is great for the new user.
