US Acoustics USX-2050 Car Amp

Pros: very reasonably priced, remarkably clean electronics and sound
Cons: low-budget packaging (hardware, manuals, etc.)

Once you descend into the mania of aftermarket car hi-fi and get past the 1st Level (i.e., swapping out the factory head unit for a Pioneer or Kenwood, and/or replacing the crappy factory speakers for much better aftermarket ones), the 2nd Level yawns...

Pros: Low Price, nice cosmetics
Cons: No Preamp Outputs, Heat Sensitivity, Inaccurate power ratings, terrible crossovers

I had the US Acoustics amps recommended to me as a good budget amp, and I'll have to say the advice was excellent. I'm using this amp bridged to power a single 8" sub & it works great. Makes plenty of power for the one sub & is plenty loud with nice clean sound.

The amp is very well-made & has many features seen on more expensive units: adjustable high and low-pass filters bass boost, gain control, etc. Not much in the way of mounting hardware & not real flashy (for me that's a plus, for others it may not be).
