Pros: State of the art auto music machine! Cons: A little too Star-War-sy.
OK, this is about a CDA-W550 rather than about a CDA-7839. I couldn't find a category for the CDA-W550, so I hope epinions doesn't bump this review, but here goes.
I wanted a unit that was high quality, so I went with Alpine.
Pros: great sound quality, easy to use, nice looking display Cons: prone to overheating
I have to say that i have read a few opinions about Alpine that had some negative words about Alpine, but my experience has been much different.
The company as a whole makes great products. My first Alpine purchase was a cassette deck about 5 years...
I'm a music lover, I need music while I drive anywhere, I don't care it's like one or two minutes drive. I got a really nice stereo system in my car , and I used to have a pioneer CD deck, and I decided to give it to my brother and get a new one, but I'm...
I paid $230 on a closeout sale from a stereo store which had a web page, the store said that $230 was their invoice price. You should easily find this unit for around $275 on the internet. Alpine does not allow authorized dealers to sell over the phone...
Pros: kickin beats Cons: can get expensive with added features
Alpine is the leading name in car stereo quality. This new version comes with a lot of new and interesting goodies: TUNER: MaxTune Tuner, Preset Stations (FM:12/AM:6/DAP:6), D.A.P. (Direct Access Preset), Auto Memory, Local/DX Selection, Mono Switch,...
Pros: Great value, inexpensive, awesome sound Cons: n/a
I've had my alpine in dash cd player for almost a year now. And i can honestly say it is one of the most amazing car stereo you will ever find. My family is into souping up cars and puttin the works on them, with this stereo, we were able to put out a...
Pros: Nice sounding system, attractive display, easy to use Cons: Don't install in a Jeep or other vehicle with a bumpy ride!! Skip City!
I put this in-dash model into my 1999 Jeep Wrangler about two years ago. While I was very pleased with the sound quality and appearance, it unfortunately skipped all the time when I hit even small bumps. This made it virtually unusable during my...
Pros: great powerful sound Cons: detachable face gets a little warm
If you love music as much as I do then you will understand why sound quality and power for speakers is a major key in picking a stereo. I went on a six month searching spree looking for a deck to slide into my dash when I stumbled upon this receiver. I...
Pros: has everything you want Cons: only can fit one in my car
This in dash Stereo is all you need for your ride. Even if it is a beat up car like mine, nothing else matters with the Alpine Stereo. My cousin gave me his car when I started to drive and in it was his new alpine stereo. This thing bumps and has all the...
Five years ago I popped in my favorite tape, Vanilla Ice. Now I got a CD player and I am chilling like a villain. I pull up to stop lights and I change my CD just to look cool. I don’t even have time to listen to a song before I change the next...
I've had this unit for six months. It sounds great. It has stood up to everything in the normal days usage. No problems, break downs or disappointments.
The remote is the only thing I can think of that I am not satisfied with. I has no real...
Pros: All the options you can think about Cons: None as of yet
Alpine way to go, this tuner is awesome. I bought a truck from my friend and he had this tuner in it and man am i glad he didnt take it out. This tuner has it all. It has alot of power, even without a amp it sounds great. I like the remote cause i...
Pros: -remote control, BBE mode, 40 watts per channel output, disc titling Cons: gradual loudness feature is misleading
Alpine has really lived up to it's name by manufacturing this new model. With all the right features to boot, this deck plays high quality sound without the high cost. Besides the stylish faceplate Alpine threw in a remote to impress any car stereo...
Pros: reliable, great sound, doesn't skip, good price Cons: Can get a tad hot but I've never had any problems myself
I have been buying Alpine stuff for years, I almost got and Eclipse head unit until I saw the 7839. This head unit is great, it supplies enough power to push most speakers a decent amount. It has great features and has the best playback of any in dash...
I bought the Alpine 7839 headunit about a year ago. I love it. Just the name says quality and dependibilty. The sound that is produced by this headunit is great. It is filled with many options and features. I like the feature where you can name the cds...
I just recently bought this Alpine cd deck and I have to say that's that you can't get much better than this one. First of all this is an Alpine product so you know that it's of great quality, and that it will last for a long time. I haven't had any...
Pros: Nice deck, Puts out plenty of power for highs Cons: Not many
I know that Alpine has definitely made a name for itself by manufacturing it's new head units, subs, and amps. All of Alpine's Car stereo equipment has excelled above and beyond the rest. I am especially satisfied with my Alpine components and head...
Pros: Perfect for any car. Cons: Easily scratched.
I have had my Alpine Stereo now for about six months. Originally I had a factory installed system, but decided I needed a change. I had trouble deciding on something just right for my car. I didn't want a system that was too obnoxious, but I didn't...
Alpine makes the best stereo equipment out of all the companies in the market and the CDA-7839 model is their best yet. It is one of the best looking face-plates that I have ever seen and it delivers crisp sound like I have not heard on any other CD...
This system is an awesome system for the brand name and price. Highly recommend getting it. We had upgraded our stock radio, in a GMC pickup truck, to this system and absolutely fell in love with the new sound and performance. The sound was always...
An excellent car stereo for the money that you will pay. I am the proud owner of one of these great pieces of equipment. I have owned 2 alpines and one pioneer and between the 3 of them i would have to chose the Alpine. I love the way it is easy to...
Pros: Had it since '99 and never had a problem. Reads even scratched CDs well Cons: Gets pretty hot, but doesn't seem to be a problem.
Over all a great unit. I've had it skip on occasion, but only when I go over fairly sizable bumps and I drive a lowered 98 Mustang GT. I'll never own anything but Alpine from now on.
Pros: The non-fading pre-outs
The CD titling
The AM/FM titling Cons: Could have a little graphics
I read the reviews on this deck and decided to try it out. When I installed it in my car and hooked it up to my amp, I was impressed. I love the way it sounded. I had it up to 15 and that was crankin and still very clear sounding, and this was without the BBE on. I love the AM/FM titling and the CD titling. The non-fading pre-out has my amp and subs kickin. It doesn't have all the fancy graphics like the more expensive decks have but this deck hooked up to the right amp will compete with the best easily!!!!!!
