Pros: Excellent bargain now! Cons: Lack of pre-outs and digital ins
A very good bargain to pick up now!
I bought mine for £250, $375, which is a huge drop from the RRP of £600, $900, in the UK. This mid-range receiver pumps out like mad with my Audax kit speakers. Great OSd for set makes it easy, far better then...
Pros: 5 channel stereo, 2 much 2 list Cons: no DTS (no big deal)
I had been a Yamaha fanatic most of my life until I decided to give Denon a try. Now you can call me a Denon fanatic. When I decided to upgrade to Dolby Digital I checked around and kept hearing people talking about how great Denon was (from Home Theater...
Pros: Great performance, dependability Cons: Limited digital inputs
I spent a great deal of time looking for a mid priced digital capable receiver, and I have been extremely pleased with the performance. At 80 watts per channel it provides adequate punch, and has enough features to keep most audiophiles happy. The sound...
Pros: Performance for the money Cons: Remote control
Obviously, the AVR2800 is a replacement for the AVR2700. This is the first surround sound receiver that I have purchased. I looked at Pioneer Elite, Yamaha, Sony ES, Harmon Kardon and the Denon. Initially, the units that I looked at were in the over...
Pros: 5.1 Channels of Dolby Digital, Personal Memory Plus Cons: First-time setup can be a task.
With many years under the belt now with this receiver I know the durability is very good. It may not be the easiest receiver to use and understand but one thing that Denon gives you to help with this is "Personal Memory Plus". It automatically stores the surround mode and adds selected effects for all of your input sources. Meaning whichever input you select, TV, DVD or CD the receiver will automatically recall the surround mode you used the last time you selected it. Really nice feature!
It has nine surround modes:
-Direct
-Stereo
-6CH EXT.IN
-5CH Stereo
-Matrix
-Mono Movie
-Rock Arena
-Jazz Club
-Video Game
Tons of inputs, you can't go wrong with this receiver so if you should run across a used one give it a try. One other note: I have the AVR-2500 as well and it's still running strong! Great job Denon!
