I am Not Stupid, So what is wrong....

by fatima98g , Jul 10 '00
Pros: very good sound quality.
Cons: takes a genius to figure out the remote
Several months ago, my husband and I purchased this receiver to replace one that was broken in our move from Georgia to California. It had been years since we had purchased our old one. As we walked through the stores looking at what we could afford, it...

IT'LL STOMP YOUR BRAIN

by Nidal98g , Apr 04 '00
Pros: Great looks and outstanding sound quality
Cons: Extremely complicated setup routine
When I was in the market for a new surround receiver, I looked every where. We went to all major chain stores and ended up in the exchange on Camp Pendleton, Ca. They were having a sale in this receiver. I knew nothing about it, but it looked nice and...

A Love/Hate Relationship

by null , Dec 12 '99
Pros: powerful, pretty, good quality all around
Cons: poor engineering = downtime; remote control SUCKS
At the time it was introduced, the 3080 was one of only a few receivers that supported DTS. Not so anymore, but for $700 this is still a reasonable value (mine was $899 about 1.5 years ago).

by albert1012 , Apr 26 '00
Pros: looks great
Cons: it's big and the remote SUCKS
i bought this receiver for multiple reasons, one because it was the most aesthetically looking one on the market at the time, and it was one of few which offered both ac-3 and dts sound output.
my experiences with it have ranged from joy...

Well,1st of all the remote sucks,Auto switch-off,Butt--Other than that it is one fine Reciever,Although the 1st experience with trying a down-load, to re-enter a new code to the remote was a failure, just bought a JVC m567gd 3 disk dvd player,,,I did...
