Pros: As a moderately priced speaker, Bose will achieve a fairly good sound. Cons: Not as good as my Fishers.
After making the purchase of our Hitachi Ultravision 50” Big Screen Projection TV, we needed to purchase a set of rear speakers in order to get the full sensation of watching TV and movies in surround sound. We already had two, floor standing Fisher...
Pros: Good looks, small, very lifelike sound at higher listening volumes, price. Cons: Poor-quality build materials, very lacking lower-end, shy mids, no good for low-level listening.
This review will be on the Bose 201's as stereo sound goes, not home theater. As most of us know, home theater sound with speakers, players, and receivers is hugely different to stereo sound, so one product that's a fantastic home theater product may be...
Pros: balanced sound, good quality for the $ Cons: none at this price!
12/27/01 These speakers are available for $178 (pair)...shipping included at vanns.com. I just purchased another pair for my other son. Vanns.com was great to deal with...received them in a timely fashion at a fantastic price!
I have purchased a pair of Bose 201 reflecting speakers for my home theater system. These speakers have been tried on both a Pioneer VSX454 and a Sony STRDE325 Dolby Prologic system.
The Pioneer receiver is located in my upstairs bedroom....
Pros: Great Sound, Affordable, Sound Great anywhere Cons: Lacks some of the bass of the 301's
The Bose 201 Series is a great speaker for anyone who wants to hear superior sound quality. I received my speakers after a deal with my older brother where he got the next series up, the 301's, and I got his older 201's. We went to the Bose Factory Store...
Pros: They are small in size, have a big sound, and have been reliable over time Cons: None
We actually have the 201 series III of these speakers, but I thought it would be helpful for me to review this product under this category so that readers could see that these speakers still perform over time. We have had these speakers for about seven...
Pros: Excellent rear speakers for home theater set up! Cons: none, ok maybe a tad bit expensive?
Wandering around the mall the other day, (the Misses was doing her shopping at the 1/2 year sale at Nordstroms) I decided to visit Pete at the Bose Store. I was told by Pete that the 201's were on sale. I have the 301's for my rears, so I didn't think...
Pros: Crisp high's, nice styling and good power handling. Cons: Weak bass. Woofers bottom out on low notes. No binding posts.
I bought these speakers for use in an apartment. I liked the crisp highs in the showroom but was a little worried about the bass response. I bought them anyway based off of the amazing clarity. I used them for a while soley for the purpose of...
Pros: Speaker name impresses some. Cons: Untreated paper cones. Particle board enclosures. Spring clip bindings. Muddy sound.
In college, I wanted a "cool" setup. I went to the local electronics store and was convinced before listening, researching, or looking at the build quality (or lack thereof) that I wanted Bose speakers. Not exactly an educated decision.
Pros: Good overall sound. Excellent contruction. Cons: Spring Clips.
I use these speakers in a Recording studio to A/B mixes while mastering audio. These speakers sit on top of Studio Monitors 3x their cost.
The sound quality is very smooth. The frequencies around 8K-16k are not harsh, but rather calm. You can also...
Pros: Small in size, Large in sound, Low price Cons: good speaker placement is needed, just average bass
These speakers can be under estimated at, because of the fact that there a small book shelf speaker. Well, lets just say this small bookshelf speaker, gives off some loud, rich, air filling sound! These speakers are built with a 2-way design. This...
Pros: None Cons: Amplifier problems caused by speakers or supplied cable. Customer service did not satisfy
This is a customer service review, not for the specific product, because I returned the speakers after having a very bad experience with them. The event took place a few years ago, but now that I know about epinions, I now have a place to publicly...
Pros: the mere name Bose, fairly inexpensive Cons: not strong enough
The Bose 201's feature a eight-inch woofer and a 2 inch tweeter. The bass response is nice, however, the highs seem to hiss a little. The 201's are decent, don't get me wrong. I currently have my 201's serving as my surround speakers, and I must say...
Pros: good size, decent sound image Cons: over priced for what you get.
These speakers are fine if you are not interested in great sound. Compared to the speakers that Bose built their reputation on, these fall short.
The highs are just not there compared to other speakers in the price range. The midrange is passable, but not outstanding, and there is not enough bass.
For use as rear surrounds, they do a passable job. They do give a clear sound image. As main speakers, you should look elsewhere. These just don't have the punch needed, even for a small sized room.
