Pros: small, stylish, great sound! Cons: no mute button on remote, single-disk player
Technology is moving way too fast for me... things just keep getting smaller and smaller. I purchased my JVC FS-5000 because I had limited space, but wanted a sound system of some sort in my bedroom. While I really wanted multi-disk CD player, the...
Pros: Small size, impressive sound for it's size, alarm functions! Cons: Thin bass sound, 5 minute snooze
We were looking for a CD player to add on to our KLH Model 88 bedroom system/alarm clock, and we saw this system and were sold. It's compact, looks nice, and has better alarm functions than the Model 88 add-on does (only one alarm, though).
Pros: Good bass, controls are easy, neat remote CD door, cool clock display Cons: speakers can't be attached to the receiver part, volume momentarily increases when you lower it
When I first saw the JVC radio playing in a Sharper Image store, I knew I wanted one for my room at home. Before then, I had been borrowing my sister's huge Panasonic monster of a stereo that invaded the whole top of my bookshelf. Not only was it...
Pros: sound, size, looks Cons: have not found any yet
I purchased this unit for my office. I am turned off by the looks of most of the mini-systems out there - they are too futuristic and plastic. I wanted something that sounded good but also did not offend my visual senses, and I found it in this unit....
The title says it all... this is a fantastic bookshelf audio system. I've had it for years, and it has yet to let me down in its build or sound quality. However, in addition to sounding great, it also looks great! A subtle blue glow radiates around the circular volume control knob on the center/bottom of the device, giving it a very cool look. Want to get even more use out of this already fabulous system? Hook it up to your computer! Now you have the perfect opportunity to save money on often expensive (or cheap and poor quality) computer speakers. Buy a simple cable from your local electronics store and attach your computer's headphone jack into the red and white AUX outputs in the rear of the device. The result? Sound quality you would not think possible from a desktop or notebook.
So, to sum things up, the size of this device, the build quality, sound quality, and appearance all add to the beauty of this small but powerful system. A must-have for any office or dorm room.
One of the best A/V products I've ever owned. I've owned this unit for 2 years, and had a very hard time coming up with a flaw. It sounds great, looks great, and is a great value. If you are looking for a clock radio that doubles as a very decent stereo system, look no further....
