The Sharp MT821 is a real winner

by _fate_ , Dec 03 '00
Pros: Light weight, long anti-shock protection, affordable price, many features, user friendly, durable, overall great product.
Cons: Tracks take forever to name, will skip if you shake it long or hard enough, jogging is fine though.
Review: Sharp MD-MT821

Mp3 vs MiniDisc:

I decided that my CD player was no good. It was only $40, it was from a no name company, and it scratched all my CD's as it played them. The CD player ate a fully charged...

Cons: Can't title discs/tracks during recording/playback
Okay, okay, so I got a great deal on my Sharp MD-MT821 when I bought it second hand from a Japanese friend. That does not in any way diminish my regard for this little machine. It's a ton of fun and if you stop reading this review right here, just know...

Pricey, but Worth it!

by Moose , Nov 11 '99
Pros: Small, tough, EZ to use, Long Battery, Great Features
Cons: Slippery to hold on to without strap, high price
I am an airline pilot. I bought this to use for workouts, jogging, skiing, traveling, rollerblading, cycling. I'd use it to play golf if they'd let me. I spent the additional money to buy a recordable one because I switched all of my car stereos to...

Great Audio Range

by thedonga , Apr 27 '00
Pros: Ease, Sound, features
Cons: no titling while recording
I was looking for something to allow me to listen to the multitude of MP3s stored on my Server without sitting in front of my PC, or the home stereo.

Right now there are 3 choices:
MP3 player i.e. Rio or Nomad II
CD/MP3 player i.e....

Pros: Versatility, compact size, sound quality
Cons: High price
This Sharp product surprised me. The quality and sound on the unit are incredible. It's portable. I produce hip-hop music and the Sharp does wonders for me. Say I want to sample something I hear on TV in a movie. I simply hook into the audio RCA's on the...

Goodbye Discman, Hello Minidisc!

by macross , Feb 08 '00
Pros: tiny, virtually skip-proof, looks really good, high quality
Cons: I guess it's pretty expensive. well priced compared to mp3 players though
My uncle bought me the MT821 in Taiwan for $250. I had asked him to get that model because my friend had it and I really liked it. Also, the Sonys tend to be a bit too expensive, and some of them are just plain ugly. Well, when my uncle said that he...

The Sharp MD MT821 is a wonderful alternative to portable CD players with the distinct advantages of being much smaller, more durable, and capable of recording. It is great for making mixes for working out, parties, etc. It plugs into any stereo system...

Cons: cheap printed graphics rub off!
I got this MD player (looks the same as the picture) August 00' after a vacation to Hong Kong, so I brought back a Japanese Spec version. Even without instructions I figured out how to work this thing. I'm not that tech savvy, so I think Sharp created a...

Pros: great for recording from the computer
Cons: expensive in the US? discs are expensive
i got this MD player as a gift, in Hong Kong. It was nowhere near as expensive as its listed here.

I'll tell you what I use this for. I hook it up to my computer and I use it to record my MP3s. I can get about 20 songs onto a disc. They...

a great product

by dkgamez , Jun 27 '00
Pros: Small size
Cons: title input
I have a massive Mp3 collection that up until now could only be played through my computer (a HP with cheap speakers). I wanted to listen to my mp3s while away from my computer so I decided upon MD over MP3 players because right now mp3 players are...
