Pros: Clear HD signal on HD channels Cons: Crappy packages, overpriced, inferior customer service and hardware
I had the same cable box from Time Warner (HD DVR) and was happy with the software and speed I could get to the Channel Guide.
With Cablevision's IO software, you have to go through their ridiculous menu to get to the channel guide. If it was just a two button operation I could live with it. The unfortunate speed and lag at which the box processes a signal from the remote makes it a major drag.
Bottom Line: Waiting for FIOS TV to become avail. in my neighborhood.
Don't even consider trying Cablevision... They have a money back guarantee that cost me $80.00 bucks... They refused to credit me the initial payment and charged me $56.00 dollars more... just for trying it..... Terrible reception... Dish Network is a hundred times better...Better service.. Better Quality... Better price... Cablevision is just out to make a buck where ever they can.. Kinda like Delta
Pros: Optonline service seems to be fairly reliable Cons: everything else is absolute garbage
Don't bother trying digital cable or HDTV in Wappingers Falls..The converter box provides continual digital "pixelation"...Had their crack service team out 5-6 x's with no resolution. Even had them run a the same cable feed they have at the road all the way to the house...The only way I received any response without agreeing to pay for them to come out and try make the service I was paying a ridiculous amount of money for was to get the Cablevision President involved. Pixelation seems to happen consistently at peak usage times during programs you really want to see...eliminating the converter seems to eliminate the pixilation issues so obviously it's an issue with their converters, not the cable in the house as they keep trying to point the finger at
