Comcast refuses to correct overbilling errors by d_bugz ,Feb 28 '09
Pros: They are the only available service in my area. Cons: They are the only available service in my area. (Yeah, I know they're the same.)
For 9 months Comcast double billed me for a service. It was not a large amount, only $6/mo and admittedly I should have spotted it earlier, but when I called it to their attention I was told they could only adjust one month - $6 bucks. They apparently consider the other $48 additional profit since I didn’t catch it by the second month. And the customer disservice voice wouldn't even let me speak with a supervisor about it.
Another satisfied customer. Competition can't get here too soon for me.
Awful service - I do not recommend Comcast by fairbusiness ,Dec 29 '06
Pros: I haven't had the opportunity to find any pros about Comcast. Cons: Awful customer service. Very long wait on phone calls. Inadequately trained professions on the phone.
I tried getting a quote from Comcast for internet connection and cable. They transferred me 7 times between adelphia and comcost (took about 35 mins). At every transfer they got my address etc. and every time I was at the wrong department, apparently. I am not sure how can I reach a wrong department when I was transferred by a customer service agent everytime. At the end they got my information and told me they suddenly can't hear my voice (even though they could hear everything perfectly while taking the address etc.) and hung up on me. Either they have inadequately trained professions on the phone or there is something wrong with the company. I am not at all satisfied with their service and I will not recommend Comcast to anyone.
Pros: Quality Product Cons: Terrible Customer Support; High Prices
The main complaint that I have with Comcast is that they do not inform you when a promotion is about to expire. Instead, they simply bill you with a much higher rate, and you would have to find out why yourself. Even with that, there are frequently billing errors. Their customer support is unhelpful over the phone, and the prices of their service is not regulated as they are the only cable internet service provider where I live.
Pros: They are great liars! Cons: They are even more stupid.
The triple play feature for internet/phone/all movies channels cable tv for 4 tvs was to cost me 163./month.The installer arrived today with 1 cable modem & said it would be 35./extra a t.v. & he wouldn't go in the attic & it didn't include the phone line.
Called & no one there could find the original order. Cancelled everything, now have to return the wireless router. Don't trust them. They lie. Why the state of Florida doesn't go after them is a mystery.
Simply terrible... slow, far below advertised services. by iremotanon ,Apr 15 '05
Pros: -Very fast by any standards, when its working. Cons: -Many outages
-Absolutely MISERABLE customer service.
Horrendous. Thats the best word i can use to describe my Comcast High-Speed Internet service. I probably have good working Broadband around 20 out of the 30 days of the month. Now, all things considered you might say thats not too bad. Well, it really is quite inconvenient for the price paid. I paid something in the range of $60 a month, so i have a fixed IP address, etc.,
There are MANY outages of service, and many times where the service is < 200kbps a second.
Besides that, the most i ever get clocked at is < 1.7Mbps per second, and normally i'm more in the 800kbps range. This may be considered very fast, yes. However, they advertise 4Mbps, which is a speed I have never even approached. By the way, i use 4-6 different bandwidth tests, so its not like i'm just using one crappy one. I use the CNET test as well as others.
All in all, Comcast is a complete waste of money. Cable internet access is horrible. Use DSL. More solid, if not maybe a little slower.
Who hasn't had problems with Comcast? by erinmpolzin ,Mar 18 '07
Pros: great "On Demand" selection Cons: Everything
When we heard that Time Warner Cable was being switched to Comcast in our city, we were very happy. We had been having problems with Time Warner for years and years, but living in an apartment we're not allowed to have a satellite dish. Time Warner was our only option. Then Comcast came along, and we thought our problems were solved. Boy, were we wrong!
Every month we find something else wrong with our bill. When we call customer service, we're on hold for 20 minutes or more, and when we finally are able to talk to someone, they are rude, they blame the mistakes on us, and don't do anything to change it. They've been charging us $5 a month because we DON'T have digital phone service through them. I don't think that's very fair. Each month our bill gets higher and higher, but since they won't explain the charges to us, we have no choice but to pay it.
The only good thing about Comcast is their great "On Demand" selection. Lots of movies, tv shows and music videos.
All in all, Comcast is awful. But for us, there is no other choice.
Comcast Digital Cable...Not A Plus! by pattib18 ,Mar 17 '07
Pros: Clear Crisp Picture, and Good Sound! Cons: Service Interruptions and PRICE!
I currently subscribe to Comcast Digital Cable service. I would say its ok however when the repair techs come out to fix a pole our service goes off and on and it does get really annoying at times. I probably wouldn't recommend it to any family, friends. The price is outrageous and if you are on a budget...Don't Get It!
Charging me for my own cable modem by nlightfeldt ,Mar 28 '06
Pros: Service is fairly reliable. Cons: Absolutely no concern for the customer.
When I started their Internet service several years ago, I took the time to research and make sure I was buying a compatible cable modem, because I didn't want to pay their monthly $3 charge for a modem. A year went by, and one month I took the time to really go over the bill. Lo and behold, they are charging me the monthly $3! I call them, and basically they say "okay, prove the modem is yours". I say "wait a minute, you prove it yours!" They read off the serial number on the back of the modem as "proof". Well, of course they have the serial number because the installer copied all that information when he came to install the cable/Internet service. I have called 4-5 times to argue with them, to no avail. My sales receipt for the modem is long-lost. The fact that it is only $3 a month makes it a low-priority, but what happens when I want move? I have to give them back my modem that I have been paying on month after month? It's crazy. I am contacting the local franchise board to see if I can get a resolution.
Comcast has been the Best Ever! by FARLEYDTR ,Dec 15 '04
Pros: Quality,Great Customer Service,,On Demand,DVR,Great Packages. Cons: None. I honestly do not have one complaint about Comcast. No not one.
Comcast provides my family with amazing service. I have had Comcast for over 2 1/2 years now and I have never had not one problem with their services, their customer service, nor their products. This is a top of the line company and I would highly recommend them. Why go some place else when you have the Best. Comcast Phone,Cable and Broadband Internet exceed my expectations.
Vets at the Armed Forces Retirement Home by salliodonnell ,Jan 25 '07
Pros: THE WONDERFUL MUSIC CHANNELS THAT BOB LIKES SO MUCH. Cons: NOT ENOUGH SPACE TO EVEN ADDRESS ALL THE CONS!
I'm absolutely amazed how little respect is given to these men and women who have served our country and now seem to be thrown to the curb...at least by COMCAST. Many of them have major disabilities - diminished hearing is prevalent - and technicians will NOT come out to provide service if the vet does not answer their phone first before going out to provide service. Well, HELLO, they can't hear the friggin' phone - just go out and take care of them, they are waiting for YOU!!!!! For many of these vets the TV is a major source of comfort and entertainment as many have no one and their mobility and other limitations prevent them from leaving their rooms. COMCAST should be ashamed of the way they treat our veterans...is it too difficult to have a technician or two focused on the special needs of the residents of the Armed Forces Retirement Home?
Horrible Customer Service vs Good Quality by ser26ser ,Jan 15 '07
Pros: Good quality, number of channels Cons: Customer service
I am sure that comcast has one of the worst customer service, I have ever experienced. They never care about the customer. I used the service for 6 months but paid my bill for 7 times. I called them several times, nobody explained my service charge except one who had just said something. I changed my service to Direct tv and verizon for internet which are extremely friendlier than comcast. I just wanna say beware comcast, if something happens to you, you will never be right with comcast. They say the things and you need to listen them!!!
Be smart, don't let the price scam you! by nsuri ,Oct 25 '06
Pros: nothing Cons: everything!
I got Comcast triple play in May 2006. The man who set it up for me was so rude, that I signed the damn paper just to have it get out of my home (he was here for 6 hours). He left behind so many large holes in my walls that I had to have an Terminex come twice. It is now the end of October, and my cable is awful and hard to figure out, and the damage has yet to be repaired. They have documented my requests poorly, but have been 'kind enough' to sent 5 different people to determine the damage. Trying to get them to do anything is a full time job. Not only have they cut my phone line twice, but they have also messed up my bill and overcharged me. Be smart, do not use this awful company!
Comcast overpriced and overrated by kbradley123 ,Sep 08 '07
Pros: all in one bill - phone, internet, cable Cons: Pay for crappy service in all in one bill.
The customer service at Comcast sucks. I have always had problems. The triple play is a joke. I have had to get a new box twice, the internet service cuts off now and then, my phone service does not work all the time and I do not get free e-mail from comcast. The only reason I have comcast is because there is no real competition.
Terrible customer service...rates keep climbing by jerry_kaiser ,Dec 24 '03
Pros: More channel availability than with an antenna Cons: Just about everything else.
Goodbye Comcast, hello DISH.
We've struggled with Comcast and it's predecessor, ATT. Customer service and tech support seem to be made impossible to access, with interminable waits and a maze of automated prompts to wade through. It's totally impossible to identify programming on community access channels (not that it's a frequent concern); however, the degree of frustration in problem solving has been maddening.
Several channels have been plagued by static and poor picture quality, none of which has been resolved by the provider.
We've gotten a decent deal from DISH, so we're bailing out of Comcast ASAP.
Comcast could care less about you!!! by twinreg1 ,Jun 27 '08
Pros: Only at the windows. Cons: Overpriced, incompetent and they don't care!!
Comcast in Philadelphia knows they are a monopoly and they treat their customers as such. Tech support is quite ditzy at times. Comcast just announced they are upping their rates by 3.2% Jan 1, '06. This is their usual blanket statement of how "increased value for their services" is supposed to be good for us. Even though the Philadelphia Inquirer 's 11-23-06 article mentions their poor customer service. It shows Comcast could care less about the masses. I live in an apartment bldg so I have no choice but to have Comcast if I want to see clear tv. It's a shame.
