Pros: Fast when it works. Cons: Incompetent tech support. Bad bad bad network; unreliable connection. "Always on" is a crock.
Disclaimer: I am very angry right now. So today was supposed to be a work at home day for me. I am a software developer and need to access servers at work to be able to work at home. Things started out fine: VPN hooked right up, and I was coding. ...

Pros: They make Enron look like saints. Cons: Lairs; Complete lack of service whatsoever that ventures into unethical business practices.
Finally deciding to upgrade I'm a current Comcast customer, subscribing to broadband high-speed Internet and Basic Cable. I decided to upgrade my Basic Cable service to Standard Cable to get more channels. First red flag I went to ...

Pros: Good quality picture and sound without the need to purchase expensive equipment Cons: Extremely poor customer service and misleading advertising
***PLEASE NOTE THAT THE AMOUNT PAID ABOVE REPRESENTS THE APPROXIMATE AMOUNT THAT WE WERE OVERCHARGED BY COMCAST***
I wrote my story below, but for those of you who don't want to be bored by the grim details, I will summarize it in one short...

Pros: Good Picture quality, stable TV and internet service. Cons: Worst customer service I've experienced...ever.
I had Time Warner Cable for over 10 years and I was very satisfied with the TV and internet service quality, the selection of channels, PPV offerings, and overall price while being mostly satisfied with the customer service. Unfortunately, the PPV ...

Pros: You CAN talk to customer service people. Cons: Confusing "View My Bill" feature.
Over 30 years ago after an argument about with an obnoxious "Cable Guy" over who should pay for my service problems (he determined it was my lines) he said, "Well, we are a LOT cheaper than the phone company so you have nothing to complain about." ...

Pros: OnDemand, when it works, and you're not double-charged for movies you watch, beats DirectTV's PPV. Cons: Mind-numbingly terrible customer service. Inept technicians. Overpriced packages. Tons of hidden charges and fees.
We bought a home in Chicago in October, 2006, and subscribed to Comcast's $99 "Triple-play" package of Cable TV, Digital Phone and Cable Internet services. When we originally tried to subscribe, the people we'd purchased the house from hadn't cancelled ...

Pros: None Cons: They are Evil (hee hee)
I have always been taught to say something positive about someone before I start to address their weaknesses. However, for once in my life I am going to make an exception. I have never paid for anything that came along with such negative baggage as I...

Pros: One or two times a month there's a "free" On Demand movie/show worth watching Cons: Hold times are outrageous, expensive, , on demand overprices, unreliable TV/Internet
Comcast confuses me. On the one hand, they have that neat On Demand service where you can basically do real-time PPV purchases. On the other hand, they think that sending a digital movie to you is worth $4.99 (it was questionable enough at $3.99). ...

Pros: the corporate office will reply Cons: price, installation wait, uninformed service reps
First, I've got to say that we didn't even get past the sign-up stage so we have never actually had Comcast cable. Therefore I cannot comment on the quality of the service. But, I can tell you why we decided to look into satellite systems.

Pros: Friendly customer service Cons: Price, long wait for technicians, no competition
I have no choice but Comcast in this zip code since cable companies will carve up the city if one doesn't feast upon the entire city. I moved into this apartment near campus almost exactly a year ago and signed up for Comcast's $19.99 for the first three ...

Pros: it's the only option Cons: terrible reception, too expensive
If I had any choice at all, I would not be a Comcast customer. Unfortunately, my building doesn't allow me to put up a satellite dish for DirectTV or DishNetwork so I'm stuck. I live in an apartment building, which means the cable signal gets split ...

Pros: Lots of channels come Cons: Lots of dollars go
Around here, Howard County in Maryland, Comcast has the cable TV monopoly. That means if you want to watch TV it's Comcast or you-figure-it-out. Well, we figured it out. Comcast provides the 'local package' with 13 broadcast and some text channels for...

Pros: I get to watch t.v....that's all. Cons: Extremely poor customer service in all areas.
The biggest issue I have with Comcast is that they have a near monopoly in the industry. The ONLY reason I have Comcast installed is that my apartment faces in the wrong direction for DirectTV installation. Truly, if I had any other viable option, I ...

Pros: Easy to remember the number to report frequent service interruptions. Cons: One could write a book on the subject.
I am no longer surprised when I try to watch my television and it is not functioning. I have heard of countless repair crews that are "currently working on the problem". I can only use my high speed internet two days out of every week (apparently I ...
