Pros: Good programming options. Works in bad weather. Cons: Poor customer service & costs too much. Weak internet at end of service lines.
Maryland Comcast repeatedly fails to deliver on scheduled technician service appointment times, causing significant inconvenience to customers. All Comcast customers should demand service credits when service isn't completed as ...

Pros: None Cons: Expensive, snotty customer service personnel, can't tape shows using my VCR?!!!
I recently moved from Anne Arundel County, Maryland, to Montgomery County and had to switch from Millennium Cable to Comcast. Immediately, I was sure this was a very bad thing.
First, my apartment community, while very nice, offered only one...

Pros: menu's, reminders, a lot of movie channels, parental control, ITS ALL GOOD! Cons: Costs a lot of money, "this channel is not availible" signs during storms.
I, like many, love to watch tv! Movies, sports, Music, all you could ever need besides food, air, and water, is all included in Comcast Digital Cable. Comcast is great for many reasons. One reason is that you can set reminders for your favorite shows...

Pros: none Cons: unfair pricing
Recently Comcast took over AT&T's high speed cable internet access for the Bay area here in northern California. They sent out a notice warning of price increases with only two weeks notice. For customers who in addition buy their other product, a...

Pros: Pretty good channel selection; nice people on the phone despite ineptitude Cons: incompetent and inconsistent techs and repair people and unpredictable service
The digital cable box is on its way back to the warehouse. I've have Comcast basic cable with the old A/B switch for YEARS and never had much trouble with it. Only an occasional outage that was quickly fixed somewhere outside of my home. Earlier this ...

Pros: Internet service (fast and reliable, if expensive) Cons: billing, customer service, cable tv, maintenance (i'm including downgrading service in this category.)
Comcast does internet providing right. But everything else is wrong. I started with the digital cable on sale. When the sale was over, I kept the broadband internet but downgraded to expanded basic. I had to do this in person (why? you can upgrade ...

Pros: ??? Cons: very poor customer service
I recently had an extremely poor experience with Comcast. I accidently let the cable bill slip through the cracks. Very dumb mistake. I'm a single mom and I work 13 hour days, and it was due to an oversight - I thought I'd paid it. So, the cable was...

Pros: None Cons: Rates are ridiculous, poor customer service, technicians don't show up!
If you have a choice of cable companies, don't make the mistake of getting Comcast Cable. Unfortunately for me, they are a monopoly in our area so there's not much I can do besides switching to satellite which I will be doing soon.
I am one...

What distinguishes a good cable company from a bad one? I'll rate my criteria in order of importance and describe how Comcast fared against them. I had Comcast for two years before moving and getting Cablevision in central New Jersey.

Pros: Rarely goes out
Cons: Pitiful customer 'service', expensive, poor channel selection, errant billing, poor reception on PPV
Of course here [CT] also they are a monopoly; what the hell happened to 'competition'??? HA!! No time to cover *all* my Comcast hassles, but basically
1. Several lower [local] channels have variably poor to awful reception. customer 'service'...

Pros: better reception than without Cons: "nothing" on to choose from. not a good value
It was very disappointing to have spent the time completing their survey, only to find that NOTHING any of my household members voted on, or selected was added to programming. Quite reasonable requests, such as, Court TV, which the neighboring cable...
