Time Warner Cable Installation review
by opinionated240 ,Sep 13 '07
Pros: um...it's internet/cable Cons: It was half-assed in installation and now we have holes in our floors...
Our cable/internet package was recently installed, but not in the manner we were expecting. The internet was installed in only one room, and the cable/internet cords were haphazardly run through holes the company drilled in our floors. Even my 17-old-brother can run cable through small wall consoles. We did not appreciate the poor service, and do not feel the installation was made with any necessary and polite effort.

I do NOT like Time Warner Cable
by mlvlatina ,Dec 06 '05
Pros: When the service actually works it's very clear. The Digital Video Recorder is great. Cons: The wait time on hold is absolutely terrible.
I've been a subscriber to Time Warner Cable since the early 90's. Things were fine until I switched to Digital Cable. It's been a NIGHTMARE every since. Try to get a customer service rep on the phone in a reasonable amount of time. I've been on hold for up to an hour before. It's amazing how a company this bad at customer service is still around. Why don't I just get satellite dish? Good question. I'm a lowly renter and in my condo association I'm not allowed. So as you can see Time Warner has me by the small hairs. I've been without cable service since November 4, 2005. It's November 30, 2005. The o-so-helpful rep told me just a few minutes ago that he has no idea when I will have service again.

by eas21 ,Jan 26 '09
Pros: non Cons: non existent customer service, on demand never works
If you need to work with these people, forget it. Our checking acct got hacked and we tried to make payment arrangements, but they said no, as a matter of fact, they told me i had to pay the full balance right then and there

Worst customer service ever!
by diannah ,Aug 24 '05
Pros: Nothing, and I mean nothing Cons: the mere fact that they exist.
For three years we have been trying to have TWC fix our reception so that we have a clear picture. We also have our internet service through TWC but with their amazing high speed internet we have a slower connection than our dial-up neighbors. Missed service calls-the guy never showed up- condescending customer service reps, and 22 minutes on hold just to be told "I don't know what happened" is not worth the trouble of having TWC in your home. I'm a very happy DirecTV customer...Switch to Satellite.

T-W sucks out loud!
by pjeans ,Jul 15 '08
Pros: only one available in my major city, thanks fcc Cons: float it out and sink it
Forget Customer Service - they don't provide BASIC service. This crap is costing me 130 bux a month, and it goes in and out whenever it likes - the WORST! No point in calling them up, they don't pay the poor c/s people enough to even care. Float this whole multimedia conglomerate out into the ocean and pull the plug!

No Idea What Customer Service Is!!
by gdewete ,Dec 14 '06
Pros: No long term contract Cons: Shocking customer and technical service. Both cable & internet signals go off at regular intervals.
TW simply has shocking Customer Service. Actually, more accurate to say they have zero customer service in Houston! 1 week, 4 calls and 5 people later I still have a non-working DVR, and they cut my cable & internet service when I specifically asked them to only cut the cable service due to my imminent move. Then, moving to my new house, the confirmed switch over day (16th) has magically become 20th with a window of 8AM-8PM. Do us consumers really need to accept this crappy service????? Which working person can sit at home for 12 hrs waiting for a repairman?? It's just plain shocking service!!!

Excellent Service in Milwaukee
by nbrenard ,Mar 28 '05
Pros: Super-fast, reliable Internet connection. Excellent quality standard (analog) cable service. Cons: Cable packages force purchase of lots of unwanted channels.
As one person who complained for years about Time Warner cable service in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, it seems only fair to counter that now that my experiences with the company over the past year and a half have been uniformly excellent. The last service guy they sent out to update the physical wire into my house was not only helpful, honest, and productive, he KNEW his stuff! Internet service (Roadrunner) here has been very good since I requested it a year and a half ago and has gotten really fast over the past several months. Prices have remained the stable over the past year and a half.
We still have to buy complete cable packages with dozens (perhaps hundreds) of channel that I'll never use. I'd prefer an ala-carte system that allows me to choose the channels I want and save some $$$. I think a system like this would allow the market to cause failure of some for the channels that deserve to die.

Don't buy it...
by ireallytried ,Nov 22 '05
Pros: none Cons: very un-reliable
I recently got Time Warner out of my house. God knows I tried to love them but they provided the worst service, all over their phone connections, that one could imagine. The cable part was OK, and Road Runner was adequate, but the digital phone never worked. Then you have to call them on your cell, burning valuable minutes, to talk to someone who can not help. The phone was out at least weekly, and that is frightening. No one could help fix it. They were out at least 10 times and no one could fix the problem. Several neighbors tried it as well, and all switched back to the phone company.

NOT with the customer in mind...
by jaber ,Jul 07 '05
Pros: digital cable...that is, if you really want it. Cons: Have to rent one of their huge "boxes", too many stupid channels, too expensive!
I had their basic cable for years and one HBO channel for $15 extra a month (rip-off), and I liked it. Then they come along and disconnect my HBO because I don't want to use one of their large boxes sitting on my tv. THAT'S IT! They are forcing us to purchase their digital cable package w/ all of their premium channels just so I can get the ONE HBO channel I need to watch my favorite show.
What they don't realize is that they're LOSING CUSTOMERS THIS WAY! SEE YA TIME WARNER!

Time Warner Cable! I don't think so! Grande Communications is the way to go!
by bloodpoole ,Feb 26 '05
Pros: Very cheap compared to Time Warner! Cons: Only on Northwest side of town!
Time Warner Cable, although decent channel lineup and customer service (compared to Paragon, it's predecessor), is way too expensive! I've had Grande Communications for the last year and it comes bundled with long distance service, High speed internet, and digital cable! It's also about $100.00 cheaper than Time Warner! The only drawback to Grande Communications is that it is only on the Northwest Side of town, inside Loop 410. Once Grande expands it is going to take a chunk of the city away from Time Warner!

I HATE TIME WARNER CABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by neptunenymph ,Sep 29 '05
Pros: NONE!!! Cons: EVERYTHING!!!
I can't describe how much I hate Time Warner Cable (Chapel Hill, NC). I hate them with so much passion. Their equipment is so crappy and their tech support is the same. Besides their increasing rates, they blamed the cable problems I was having on my TV. After buying a new TV, the same problem was still there. A serviceman told me that they only use the newer equipment for new installers and not old customers. This made me mad as well. They made no compensation. Their equipment failed again today when I really wanted to watch something, and this is the last straw. I hate them so much, and no company could be worse than this. I hate this company with so much passion. I really really do. This says a lot, because I'm not much of a hater.

Worst Service in the Country
by dk5651 ,May 18 '07
Pros: None Cons: Service, customer service, reliability, equipment
I have never dealt with worse customer service... Installed my cable two weeks ago, and about 15 calls with customer service later its still not working. Specialists sent to my apt. to remedy the problem have missed appointments, called me from Caller ID blocked numbers without leaving voicemails, then accused me of not picking up my phone and used that as an excuse for not showing up for appointment. Overall, if you have ANY other choice for cable and internet, please do yourself a favor and choose it.

Time Warner Cable NYC DTV
by nyljb ,Jan 21 '05
Pros: I like the DVR capability Cons: The remote control is a piece of junk
I have had this service for 2 weeks now and have had nothing but trouble with the remote and/or box. This time the remote is broken (according to customer service, it's possible that it just broke out of the blue, which is what did happen; how does a remote control work one minute and stop working the next minute? And the customer service people act like this is a normal occurrence and is perfectly acceptable!) and has to be replaced either by mail or I will have to pick a new one up in person. I asked if I could get a credit for on my service until I got it fixed (at least the DVR service, which I can't use) and the answer was NO. I am VERY angry right now! P.S. the only other option is RCN and they're just as bad if not worse.

Time Warner El Paso
by msw2061 ,Jul 14 '06
Pros: When Time Warner is working, it's great. Cons: Piss poor customer service and tech support.
Not to long ago, Time Warner cable, Road Runner and the phone went down for a week. We were all told we would be credit for those days, which we were not.
Did you know that the employees at Time Warner gets digital cable and Road Runner for free while the customers are getting ripped off every month?

The WORST Service Ever
by scotty1212 ,Feb 04 '08
Pros: Nothing Cons: customer service, product, everything
I have never dealt with a more pathetic company in my life. They make no effort to solve any problems with their awful product. My time warner cable works around 60% of the time and they still refuse to lower the bill or do anything to help out. They will not even send a repair person out to fix it, they claim appointments are booked and there are no times available. They are extremely rude on the phone and have an attitude that they are above you. I will never do anything with Time Warner again. They also promised a $50 dollar cash rebate which was a lie, as well as free movie channels becuase of the constant bad service which also was a lie.
