Time Warner...worthless!!

Pros: None.
Cons: Bad service, bad attitude, too expensive.
Time Warner offers the most pathetic customer support I have ever encountered. They mixed up my order with another customer, and refused to come to my house after discovering their mistake. They wanted to open a new work order, and send someone three weeks later to install the cable. I was expected to wait that long to watch TV in the 21st Century.

Customer support was unhelpful, defensive and argumentative. I was transferred between dispatch and customer service for an hour, before they decided they could not send someone to install the cable on the scheduled day.

The compensation they offered just added insult to injury: waiving the $50.00 installation fee.

Clearly Time Warner Cable has become too big to care about its customers, and there is a dire need for competition in this area. If you can get another cable service, I would strongly recommend that you do so, because Time Warner will take your money and leave you high and dry.

AVOID TWC Digital Phone and Road Runner

Pros: One bill for cable, phone and internet.
Cons: PAINFULLY internet service. Worthless phone service.
The phone service is horrible. When it drops, it's down for 8-12 hour at a time. Along with your digital phone, your Road Runner service drops. Calling customer service during phone outages is ridiculous-at-best. First, they promise a 2 hour+ wait, then, since TWC, uses digital phone service, it drops you. When the Road Runner service works, it has PAINFULLY slow TCP connect times and DNS lookups. Once the connection is established, it is adequate, but still not nearly as fast as SWB DSL service. Of course if you use DSLreports.com speed test it will show an ultra fast connection. This is because the test does not go pst the DSLAM. Your last mile connection never actually gets tested. I know this for a fact because I used ethereal to watch the packets during the entire test and saw nothing but normal traffic. The COS/QOS policies/configs used by TWC may be okay but the equipment seems to be way over it's head.

Frankly, I'd rather get buggered by a gang of wild gorrilas than keep TWC Road Runner and Digital Phone.

Pros: When it works, digital package is great with loads of channels, menu/info surfing, movies...
Cons: The worst customer service, astounding incompetency, rudeness and unreliability for a pretty penny to boot
At this time there is only ONE cable company choice in my area: Time Warner Cable. And so I have to put up with the worst customer service of astounding incompetency, rudeness and unreliability no customer should ever have to put up with. And unfortunately, I've had to call TWC's customer service all too often, starting with the installation fiasco spanning several weeks, followed by poor signal due to their own inadequate cables installation, regular service interruptions and outages. And all that for a high price.
The minute another cable company is allowed to introduce competition in cable service in my area, I'll get the hell out of Time Warner.

Cons: Too many for words. Poor automated phone service. Poor customer service. Poor technician service.
Time Warner Cable has just about the worst customer service I've ever experience. In my neighborhood in NY, Time Warner Cable has a monopoly on cable service. For the last 10 years, I've had cable about half the time, usually getting so fed up with their poor service that when I moved, I wasn't willing to give them my cash again.
They are bad at being on time, bad at giving you any information or solutions, but they excel at training their reps to 1) hang up on the customer "accidentally" and 2) give the customer the run around in the hopes that they wear you down and you'll go away.

Probably the worst company in the country

Cons: overpriced, gray side bars on HD, incompetent technicians, slow service
I URGE EVERYBODY WITH HD TO CONTACT TIME WARNER AND TELL THEM TO CHANGE THE SIDE BAR COLOR TO BLACK!!! HD USERS UNITE! (read on for review.) Because they have a virtual monopoly in my neighborhood (Brooklyn), I don't have much choice but to go with Time Warner. And boy do they take advantage of that. Their prices are outrageous. They use bait and switch tactics so you sign up for a free trial and then they change their "packages" so you have to spend more money to keep the same level of service you had before your free trial. And their technicians are awful. My most recent gripe: they use a gray color for the sidebars on HD channels. This is totally idiotic and looks awful and they could just have easily chosen black.

Time Warner Cable - what a horrible experience!

Cons: horrible experience with installation
I currently have RCN digital cable television and high-speed internet service. Generally they've been good to deal with, but I've had a few problems irritating enough to look into alternatives. I've had difficulties getting the paperless statement process to work, a few of the HD channels get distorted and pixelated, especially when I'm surfing the web or using my cell phone.

I signed up with Time Warner for cable TV, high-speed internet and cable phone. The day of my scheduled installation I took off 1/2 day of work to wait from 2-6 pm for the installer. He didn't show up until close to 7:30 pm. By that time the building superintendent was not around to let him into the location he needed to do some wiring. After my complaining about my wasted time and my unwillingness to take off more work time he promised to come the following saturday. He never did show. And all I got from the customer service line was that I needed to reschedule installation - I said "NO THANKS, it's clear you aren't interested in me as a customer."

The WORST customer service (new installation)

Cons: UNREASONABLE waits for an install, LONG waits on phone, IDIOTS on chat help line.
Unbelievable.  I ordered cable internet online on a Monday.  The earliest available installation date was EIGHT days later.  Two days after I placed the order, I received an email saying they can't install as requested, and I need to choose a new install date.  I called the number ... and waited ... and waited ... while a recording tells me that my call is "important" to them.  After an hour an hold, the woman tells me that she can't access the scheduling screen due to "issues" with their computers, and she'll have to call me back!   And to top it all off ... while I was on hold, I tried their order chat feature online ... and even though I told the idiot exactly what I wanted and gave him the order number, he spent five minutes trying to sell me their most expensive package before he admitted that he wasn't able to assist with what I needed. 
And for this, they want ME to pay?  Verizon DSL is starting to look REALLY good.

NEVER use Time Warner Cable

If you have any other options for cable, run as fast as you can from Time Warner Cable. We have had cable for one month and have had a tech guy out here FOUR times - and it still doesn't work properly! I'm so sick of wasting my time calling their customer service and then having to give up my entire day waiting for a tech appointment. Oh, and their DVR is the worst piece of electronic equipment I've ever owned. We are seriously regretting not getting a TiVo, because we have only ever been able to watch one show on their crappy DVR.
Companies that offer such a crappy product with such poor customer service should go out of business, and I hope they do!

Cons: Customer service, reliability, faulty equipment, interrupted service
Time Warner has been a very inconsistent company. I've had to have home visits 5 times in 7 months. They had to come out to install twice because the first technician didn't know what he was doing. The second didn't tag the line so it was disconnected because they thought we were stealing cable. The DVR on the first box skipped and it had to be replaced. The second cable box recently lost all power while we were watching a show and we have to wait 7 days for a technician to come out and replace it. They are also a little pricey.

Cons: If you disconnect their service, all forms of reasonable customer service gets disconnected as well.
We had been a customer of Time Warner Cable for years when we decided to switch to AT&T's Uverse. After having the same phone number for almost 10 years, Time Warner Cable summarily disconnected our phone service, refused to port our phone number to AT&T or even install a message referring callers to the new number  unless we paid all the charges to have the phone reconnected long enough to allow AT&T to port the number over. Because we had no way of knowing that Time Warner cable was going to do that to us, I had no chance to change resume information on jobs I had applied for, no chance to inform relatives ahead of time or our kids schools for that matter. AT&T told us that what they did was illegal and they tried to intervene, but Time Warner wouldn't budge.

Broadband BAD SUPPORT !! High speed support sucks!

Cons: lack of: help,skills,immediate problem resolution, off hours support sucks, holiday support,network support.
Very bad support for the broadband on the weekends and off hours. I was connected to national help desk, but if you have a slow blinking or non existent cable light they cant help. And how can you see if you have an outage in your area with accessing the web. It seems TW waits for 5 or more calls from your area to start troubleshooting the network. its alot of money for the service, but a world of non technical people supporting a very technical business.

Have used them (better to say they have used me) for two years and it has been a nightmare. Nothing good to say. Service outages, horrible customer service, techs that are incompetent, missed service dates, bought their wireless internet and it is NOT compatible with NT (never told though we specifically told them what OS we had) and the Linksys router has not been mfg'd in over three years (outdated). Getting SBC DSL installed on the 21st and then switching to another cable co...Ohhhh I Look forward to telling them C-YA!
