Pros: Informative short tour. Good little gift shop. Great tasting! Cons: The bottling section wasn't open on weekends.
The Shipyard Brewing Company has been gaining a reputation for crafting a fine English style and seasonal ales for the last dozen years or so. It's definitely a place to stop by to see, smell and taste their fine product. Shipyard is the largest ...

Shipyard ales are a MUST try!

Pros: It's a Maine brewery! How could it possibly be bad?! Cons: Trust me, there are no cons, it's all good!
For those of you who have tried a Maine micro brew ale, you know that we here in Maine don't mess around! There are a number of breweries up here in Maine, but the one that stands out from the crowd has to be Shipyard Brewing Co.! Their brewery and gift shop is located in Portland's Old Port right down by the waterfront. Shipyard, much like Sam Adams, has an ale for every season. My personal favorite if the Stout! It's heavy and dark just as a good stout should be, and being in Maine it's just the thing to warm the heart on a cold day! I recommend that if you're ever in Maine you swing by the brewery and have yourself a sample of what Maine has to offer for fine ales, and they don't get much finer then Shipyard, I'm tellin' you!
